Romans 8 ,and other associated scriptures, tell us why we suffer and what God's purpose in it is for Christians.

As we look at Romans 8:17 and other scripture, we take a close look at what it means to be an Heir of God.

It is an amazing thing that we have a Heavenly Father. Which means we have access to someone even more powerful than an earthly monarch.

Today, we focus on what Romans has to say about how the Spirit liberates us from the bondage to sin and what God's adoption means to us.

It takes the work of the Spirit to kill the desires of the flesh. And it needs to be done daily. God's Spirit is the active agent for obedience and change in our lives.

When we give our lives to Christ, we no longer owe the flesh anything. We owe God everything.

We all face the problem of wanting to live a righteous life, but as Romans 8 shows us, unless we have the Holy Spirit, we are not able to.

Romans 8 shows a distinct difference between those living in the flesh and those living in the Spririt.

Romans 8 is the jewel, the focal point of the book of Romans. This is what all the talk about the Law and Freedom and our security in Christ find their focus.

Wisdom is not simply knowledge, but that knowledge applied. But there are two vastly different types of wisdom.
