God Disciplines
Hebrews 12:4-11 is our starting point. God disciplines his children. What does that mean and look like for believers?
Today's episode we dedicate to Brett's brother Aaron. Tune in as Fenn, Jonathan and Brett jump into what it means to trust in the Lord and what happens when we do that. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths." Proverbs 3:5-6
Hebrews 12:4-11 is our starting point. God disciplines his children. What does that mean and look like for believers?
Continuing on from our pre-recording conversation, how can two people who are studying the same passage come to two polar opposite understandings? Is it a sin to have a wrong understanding of a doctrine and will we be held accountable for the fruit that wrong understanding produces?
This week we dive in to 2 Corinthians 5 and discuss how In Christ we are new creations. This leads us to the question: Does a Christian only have one nature or does a christian still have a sinful nature?
Join us as we dive into 2 Timothy where Paul describes the need for sound doctrine and how people will ultimately want teachers who will tell them what they want to hear as opposed to the truth and also how doctrine isn't something to just be debated and held onto but is meant to lead us into how we live our lives.
"Jesus Wept." John 11:35. Why did Jesus weep and what can we draw from this short verse? Tune in!
We dive into the parable of the Unworthy Servant in Luke 17:7-10. Tune in as we dive into what seems like a harsh message from Jesus but after you unpack it and see it in the context of the whole story of redemption how beautiful and meaningful this short parable is.
Next week we will be diving into a particular passage of scripture and going through it and how it applies in our daily lives but this week we pick up mid-conversation about war time generals and we somehow tie that into our faith walk.
This week is a little bit of an extension from last weeks episode where we talked about why we are here but we start with how having some order in our lives vs our lives being completely full of chaos is healthy and what that points to.
Why are we here? How does our perspective on why we are here effect what we do and how we live our everyday life? Listen in as we discuss and work through these questions that everyone at some point has asked themselves.
Everyone will get a taste of what our pre-recording conversations sometimes consist of but, stick around and we eventually end up on our intended topic of conversation of God furthering our spiritual life in and through our circumstances.
