About Julie:
In 2017, I opened Broche Ballet to create a place for adult dancers like myself to find a place to achieve their ballet dreams.
Even though I started ballet at the age of 17, I wanted to be taken seriously. I wanted to be pushed, and I wanted to be able to dance at a really high level. I wanted to train somewhere that would help me get where I wanted to go. But, that’s not always easy to find. I pieced my training together for over a decade and ultimately created Broche Ballet to be the studio I always wanted but never had.
Broche Ballet grew to 3 studio locations in Denver by 2020, but COVID closed our Denver operations. Now we offer daily live & recorded Zoom classes to help dancers worldwide learn how to effectively practice at home between classes, stay inspired to keep going, and join a global community of passionate adult ballet dancers.
And now in 2022, the mission to help dancers with big dreams reach their full potential is stronger than ever, with the introduction of the first annual International Adult Ballet Festival. The first IABF brought amazing adult dancers together from across the globe to Miami to immerse themselves in ballet for a week: dancing, dining, and performing all week long.
Ballet is for everyone, even if you didn't start as a young child. Adult ballet dancers with big dreams belong in the studio and on the stage. Let's dance!
