    The Roommate

    The Roommate

Ever wish you weren't privy to someone else's conversation?  That's exactly how Danielle felt after 3 days of being inpatient.  From Jeffrey Dahmer to reasons why you should hold off declaring your undying love for someone before you know all of their phone numbers, The Roommate covered it ALL.  So of course, we're telling YOU.  Melissa is still trying to cope with not having to run Code Blues in her office (it's a withdrawal process, y'all.)

    Patient Hacks

    Patient Hacks

No one likes going to the doctor (unless we're your nurses, of course).  We're dropping the tips on how you can be the best patient you can be.  From telling you to please wear underwear to giving you the deets on prescription assistance, we're here to make your visit not only go smoothly, but to effectively provide yourself with the best care.

We're still learning about parenting teens who are LGBTQ+  but what we have learned we're all about sharing with you.  From the difference between sex and gender, phobic family, deadnaming, and being respectful,  we're diving into some uncharted territory of our own.  If your preteen/teen has made the courageous step of coming out to you (and perhaps their whole family) or maybe they're still questioning who they are,  we're navigating the journey with you!

Where the Hell Have WE Been?!

Grab a cup of coffee and join us on the back porch!  We socially distanced, we survived Covid, we rant about some nursing issues that affect EVERYONE,  and we'll just get caught up with you like the friends you haven't seen because we almost played The Walking Dead for reals.  Come sit a spell and visit with your favorite moms!

    The Screentime One

    The Screentime One

Death by Bloody Mary Bar, farts, the ABC After School Special, and what the hell does BTS stand for?

We're talking about all the things. Kelsey B., there's not an H in your name, so we apologize for that one straight away (but we'll still pronounce it with one)

    Bubble Pizza Recipe

BTS stands for Bangtan Boys. No, we don't know how those initials came to be, either.

So, Danielle was thinking of the movie, "Desperate Lives" when she was talking about the ABC After School Special, but it's on the same sort of "cautionary" tale that saturated the teen TV market in the late 70s/early 80s. Enjoy Helen Hunt getting peer pressured by some dreamy dolt of a guy to try crank, and watch as she jumps through a window, unscathed. You're welcome.

Bald Jack Black is Trying to Kill Me

Bald Jack Black is Trying to Kill Me

Danielle finally gets a break on a "romantic" weekend in a cabin, has some f*cked up dreams, nearly falls to her death, and tries to sneak up on bald eagles (spoiler alert:  you can't sneak up on an eagle.)

Melissa is a Go Go Squeez addict, also went on vacation but didn't survive unscathed.  We catch up in our usual manner (coffee, hilarity, and bitching about our significant others).

    Apparently, Teachers are People Too

    Apparently, Teachers are People Too

Brandi has some valuable tips to consider like emailing teachers so you have a record of what is discussed, as well as making an escalation process that much easier by printing out your discussions and bringing them with you to the principal.

Don't forget to contact the teacher first UNLESS there's gross misconduct, then it's perfectly acceptable to leapfrog straight to the principal, superintendent, or school board. Don't forget that after this episode, we're changing to an every-other-week format, so keep an eye out on our FB Page as to when new episodes will drop! The Dog Did Not Eat These Homework Hacks & Study Tips - Back to School Part 3

    We get it.

Remember when your teenage self said, "I'll never have to use algebra when I'm an adult!" and your high school math teacher chuckled to himself and shook his head? Yeah, this is what he was laughing about (Mr. Wood, I'm talking about you).

The last thing you want to do after a long day at work is to give yourself a headache trying to remember the differential equations that you learned 10 years ago so you can help your kid who is growing frustrated by the millisecond because they don't understand their assignment (or worse, can't figure out what formula to use).

You haven't used APA citation in years, and the only chemistry you've done since high school involved unclogging the shower drain.

Danielle leads the conversation in this one, since Melissa's oldest is still in middle school.

A special shout-out to the good people at Strong Hearts Cafe in Syracuse, NY for making the BEST damn sandwich Danielle has ever had, seriously.

The Sweet Sassy Molassy is something that is entirely drool-worthy, and she's already attempted to bribe the chefs for a gallon of the Sassy Sauce (with no luck, sadface).
