#SayHerName
In 2014 the African American Policy Forum and Center for Intersectionality and Social Policy Studies created the #SayHerName campaign to bring awareness to the Black women and girls who have been killed by police. Today we still see Black womenâs stories being minimized, ignored, and untold. On this episode of A Difficult Beauty, Ena and SunAh discuss Breonna Taylorâs death at the hands of police when they issued a no-knock warrant at her home on March 13, 2020. The two share experiences theyâve had with police officers, and the episode ends with the question: what does defund the police really mean?
