3 Keys to Communicate Effectively with People

3 Keys to Communicate Effectively with People

Today, Manny talks about three key elements that really set up and proceed any type of communication position. And those three key elements are going to help you to essentially, and very effectively communicate with other people.

And if you're watching on YouTube, make sure you go over and hit that subscribe button.

Manny also gives acknowledgement and kudos to those that are listening on the podcast

    • The first thing that talked about is that communication is an exchange of messages and we need to win the conversation in our head long before any external communication
    • The second thing is people are people, human to human, we are NOT labels
    • And lastly, is that there needs to be a healthy personal and external feedback loop

You all keep up the good work. Keep coming back to always on the grow here for the podcast and for the YouTube. And I'm going to keep showing up for you because that's what we love to do, building ourselves up while building others around us. And that is a beautiful place to be!

The 3 Lessons Manny Learned on His Trip to Legoland.

The 3 Lessons Manny Learned on His Trip to Legoland.

When you’re trying to ‘live in the moment’ everyday of your life, you will be able draw out lessons from every one of the experiences you go through. Some learn lessons from pain and disease, and some through hardship and adversity.

Manny learned the lessons from a different experience.

Manny recently went on a trip to Legoland along with his beautiful lady. The reason for the trip, nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters! But it was all about the KIDS. It was a big ol’ family fun day. It was a busy and packed day fully loaded with excitement, fun and enjoyment.

Yet, Manny being the creative individual that he is, made it a point to think and document a few lessons to observe during the trip. Here he will share these lessons with you that are applicable in real life.

In this episode you will learn 3 Lessons Manny learned on his trip to Legoland.

    • What to do when you're afraid of going into certain situations that make you feel anxious and nervous.
    • Is Adventure worth taking the risk?
    • Should you finish everything that you started?

    Insights from the episode:

There are times when we actually find things that we're afraid of -- things that make us nervous and scared; but then the moment we pivot from being at that emotional state to going into it and getting involved and being a part of it; that’s when the transformation starts to take place

The real-life experiences which once made you nervous and scary but have become fun later on: use them as a triggers to get yourself into the right mental position when you're starting something new,

transfer that old energy, use it when you're getting ready to do something you're uncomfortable of: like going to speak in front of a group

If we allow ourselves to be controlled by what other people are telling us to do, and we keep ourselves in these boxes and live without doing our own research and searching and hunting for the facts, thus playing scared; then we don't necessarily get in position to have the experiences that life has to offer to us

I'm not going to be told what to do and I'm certainly not going to surround myself with someone that's going to be told what to do

Make your life an adventure; do the things that you love to do, find that thing that gives you a thrill and don't be susceptible to being controlled by the narrative and what other people are governing you to do

We're just being projected too much news right now that's inaccurate; and it's affecting a lot of people's quality of life

Sometimes you know those phones can get in the way and they start to suck up our life and it prevents us from actually being able to enjoy the idea in the moment

If you stay until the end and finish what you start, you will reap the benefits

In life, if you finish what you start, you develop a reputation for being someone that executes and gets the job done

How I Approached Grieving with Euthanizing Our Dog, Bubba..

How I Approached Grieving with Euthanizing Our Dog, Bubba..

    We go through suffering, right?

Yes, we all experience pain and grief.

Maybe you've lost a boyfriend, or you’ve lost an animal. We lose people that we love, things that we love, animals that we love and therefore there are tremendous experiences of that loss and it is not the nicest thing on the planet to experience.

Because, we have those bonds with people and with our most beloved animals.

But this experience of mine, it was so sudden. It was a big thing for me that startled me and really broke me down.

Bubba was a big old bulldog with a face that only an owner could love, because that boy had a grin on him with an underbite that nobody could like unless you had love for that big guy, the handsome devil. He’s just so sweet, kind, and loving all the time. Truly a man's best friend.

He was my dog, my dad's dog. He was the family dog. He was just one that brought everybody together.

    About the incident

8 year old Bubba has been with us ever since I was running restaurants and these last 5 years since I’ve been sober. Suddenly Bubba started to have health issues. His stomach started to look awkward as it was growing outward. He was just panting for no apparent reasons.

After been taken to the Vet and after some blood samples and X-ray, it was discovered

    he was developing cancer.

In a few weeks the cancer developed into a big bummer. It has metastasized to other areas of his body.

There were just 2 choices: Have a surgery and remove the mass that is pushing his whole stomach and intestines to one side of the body and give him chemotherapy, or take him through Euthanasia (put him down)

So, what happened next? And what's all this fuss about a dog?

Why dedicate an episode for him?

Is there a lesson or two for us humans to learn from him? If yes, what could the lessons be…

Listen up to understand how I dealt with the grief of having to put this dog down, and surprisingly came up with a new understanding on life. There are lessons that you could implement in your personal life when you're in times of pain and suffering.

    Insights from the Episode:

It's really about understanding and detail, and having definition

People that aren't in control of themselves and haven't worked on themselves tediously over a period of time would have those strong reactions when there is very heartbreaking news

When you do certain things in life it almost has this irony in it, where it rewards you in unexplainable ways

When in pain and suffering; feel free to let loose your emotions and cry and let it flow through you, because that was probably the best thing that you could do

I had developed myself in a way where I've healed lots of pain in my life in the last 5 years to come to this place where there's tranquility

Surround yourself with people. Reach out and find support. Do not hold anything back

There's always a blessing in every distressed situation

Life is always unfolding, and that's never going to be the last time that we have to experience difficulty

We truly have the power to be stronger than the certain adversities we're facing

If you've been through adversity and you're still fighting and going through and you're still moving forward, then something tells me you're a Stoic

Dave Austin: High-Performance Coach Teaches Mental Processes and Winning Principles that Help You Succeed in Life, Business, and Sports

Dave Austin: High-Performance Coach Teaches Mental Processes and Winning Principles that Help You Succeed in Life, Business, and Sports

Dave Austin knew he was going to do what he doing today even when he was 10 years old. Coaching.

A Couple of coaches he played under had these negative approaches toward him. He became slow and gained much weight because of a sarcastic comment from a Naval Sergeant coach in North Carolina, when he was actually quite quick in his play. His next coach's indirect talk in Hawaii made him lose all weight.

"So at a very young age I someday want to be a coach; but I want to be a coach that's going to bring people up, not take them down", says Dave who went on to build his career around football, baseball, and tennis. Even after a car accident that ended his football and baseball careers, he became a world ranking professional tennis player.

Dave lost every penny when he was in his mid-30s and he already ended his professional tennis career. He'd just started dating his wife and it was a night when they were supposed to go out to dinner and a movie. It was a humble pie for Dave when she volunteered to pay the bill, but Cathy loved him though he went penny less. Dave and Cathy have lived together for the last 40 years.

Dave trained some of the best athletes on the planet, and actually gives them the recipes and tools to take them to the next level. He took the US Olympic team to Scotland for the world cup.

Dave's 'Game Ready' process works not only in athletics but also in business because he teaches winning principles that are universal.

Dave was in Hollywood as a successful actor, but when he decided to raise his kids, he left Hollywood altogether.

Listen up to understand the preparation techniques of high-performance athletes like Tony Gwynn and Michael Young. Dave narrated a story about how he took a major league superstar from the worst season of his life to the best season of his life. Things get interesting when the superstar had to face another client of Dave on the opposite side of the game. You can also learn about Dave’s Crocodile RESPA formula which helps you act wisely even in very high-pressure situations.

Next, he talked about the things superstars are doing differently than the average guys. Finally, Dave's five-step process works for any disastrous situation.

    About The Guest:

Dave Austin is a High-Performance Mental Coach, Founder of Extreme Focus which helps Navy Seals, Actors and Producers bridge the Gap. Dave is a former world-ranked tennis player who now coaches elite athletes in the NFL, MLB, ATP, the Olympic athletes, as well as business professionals in the Fortune 100 and 500 companies.

Dave has written three bestselling books, "The Unfinished Cross: Listen to the Voice Within," "Songwriting For Dummies," and "Be A Beast: Unleash Your Animal Instincts for Performance Driven Results." He has lectured all over the world including at the Global Summit at the United Nations, Harvard, the US Pentagon, the Presidential Summit in Tashkent, Uzbekistan and at the World's Women's Wellness Congress in Chennai, India. Living a rich life filled with many experiences, one of his most honored achievements, apart from his 39-year marriage to his wife Cathy and raising four incredible boys together, was back in 1991 when he received the Presidential Merit Award from the Grammy's.

    Insights from the Episode:

I'm a great observer and that gives me the ability now to coach, I observe greatness

Tony would get to the ballpark before anybody else, though he is the best hitter in baseball

Just before his training Tony would just stand there and stare at the ball; so he was training his brain to focus on the only thing that really matters. We have so many distractions in life, those distractions keep us from our objective

As a coach when I work with players, I teach them how to get their brain just to focus on what's important

We have so many different distractions and it's easy to be distracted, but it's training your brain to work for you rather than against you that matters

A lot of us just go to do things; we don’t go to that level that extra level of preparation

There are many people that will learn things and so they know it, but that's where they get stuck. But you've got to go from knowing it, to doing it, to being it and that's a daily practice

Most Valuable Players -- they do the littlest things, they don't leave anything unturned

Some talk about the devil all the time, it's almost like they worship the devil. Let's not give that much power to something that is so negative.

It's not about the results; it's about who you are in this present moment. It's the journey and how we approach today

I surrender to a much smarter, more creative, more everything than I can be by myself

If you let your emotions get in front of your objective, you're dead; get your emotions behind you

Gratitude can shift everything; it's the best thing to do in any situation

If you have the courage to step through; on the other side is a whole new world of universal laws that are available

You have to become aware of some of the habits you have, we do things we're not even aware of

Once you become more aware of your habits, you move in to take responsibility

I'm the one that stopped any of my success; nothing outside me, it was all me

It's just a matter of taking action behind your dream

Courage is not the absence of fear; it is that something else is more important than the fear you feel

Feel that fear; we're just going to shift the fear into a commitment to your objective

Courage is not the absence of fear; it's just how you deal with fear and how you move through fear

Most of the players don't know they're naturally and physically gifted they don't understand that they can take their game even further

Those that are committed to their mental build up beyond their physical abilities-- it separates them; it’s night and day

Many people are just willing to settle for good, but to go great you've got to just keep saying 'what more can I do'

Most people close down and they close their vision, rather than open the vision

A sense of gratitude gives you strength in any situation

It's once you have momentum you want to keep the momentum going, that's an area people don't understand; there's either negative momentum or positive momentum

Ty Cohen: Overcoming Sickness, Poverty, and Going on to Build Multiple Multi-Million Dollar Online Businesses

Ty Cohen: Overcoming Sickness, Poverty, and Going on to Build Multiple Multi-Million Dollar Online Businesses

    About the Guest:

Ty Cohen is an accomplished publishing expert, internet marketer, personal development coach, mentor, internationally known speaker, former morning talk show radio personality, and author. Over the last 11 years, Ty has taught tens of thousands of individuals how to successfully market, promote & sell their books on Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing Platform using the very same system that allows him to generate upwards of $50,000.00 a month with KDP publishing. Using a unique combination of tested and proven methods and resources, Ty’s goal is to educate and empower individuals with the tools needed to operate a successful business both on and offline.

"Mrs. Cohen, you should not expect your son to live past the age of 17", told the doctor outside a major hospital.

They didn't know the kid lying on this bed heard their conversation. The boy pulled the covers over his head and did what a 12 year old does. Crying.

12 year old Ty Cohen was in the hospital for 3 weeks and was going through a major health crisis.

"5 years is an eternity when you're 12 but you also know it's not much time", says Ty Cohen who later became an accomplished internet marketer and over a decade ago, took a major gamble with his life financially by quitting his corporate job.

He went on to build a business that flourished and at one point in time, he had to write a check worth $400,000 to the IRS.

Born with a chronic blood disorder, Ty Cohen never knows a day when he did not have to be conservative or cautious of getting sick. People with chronic blood disorder-sickle cell anemia die in their 20s or 30s. In fact, his sister passed away aged 27.

He had these pain crises since he was 8 and the only way to minimalize the pain is with heavy dosages of medicine. This continued till his 30s. Often he'd be sick in the hospital for weeks.

Coming across a book by Personal development coach Les Brown proved to be a major turning point in Ty's career.

The business Ty started after quitting his job, was generating millions of dollars in sales and totally transformed his life as well as the lives of countless others in just a few short years.

In his childhood, Ty lived in one of the worst areas in the USA where epidemics broke out. “State troopers and police officers were afraid to go because they could get shot at. They would be running out of their cars”, says Ty. It all sounds like something that you would only see in a movie.

Despite all this, Ty Cohen went on to become a Tycoon of kindle publishing and built an empire to the tune of multi-millions of dollars a year.

Today, Ty is changing people’s lives by putting together programs and which can affect millions of people whom he'll never meet.

Listen to The man who should have been dead by the age of 17 was able to use the adversities of sickness and poverty to build several multi-million dollar businesses.

    Insights from Ty

I started practicing for a few years to be as intentional and aware as possible with almost every movement that's made on a day-to-day basis

Never let someone else's opinion of you become your reality

Everything starts with a decision: you have to decide to make that change and then from there you start to see things fall in place

Stop being so smart, stop over analyzing things; that will hold you back

The thing that paralyzes us the most is not taking the right actions; we don't act as we planned in our notes

Every single day do something that's going to push you forward, it all goes back to having habits, the habit of doing something every day even if you just have to put five minutes

You have to become a master of the craft at what you want to be dominant at

I'm developing the habit of being the guy who is not satisfied with ever missing a day

To be the best dad, best father develop that habit of never missing a day with your kids and doing something for them

Once you start to make moves, everything else comes into play; to the point where it's hard just to shut it off

All you have to make to get started online is your first dollar

If you want to get to the next level, you have to have something that  pushes you forward; a reason, a why

Be very careful with what group you identify with

Anything that we want to accomplish, we can actually do it: but it does take a lot of work, it does take sacrifices

Make sure you don't fall into the wrong group and also find the right group to associate with

You have to align yourself with groups where the success that you're after is beyond normal for that group

There's never going to be a point in life where you're not going to have some struggle

People that see your growth as being like dangerous to them could be something that can screw with you

You can be too busy making all the money and not living life; you have to live your life too

Sometimes you have to schedule these things out like vacations, making sure that you are reaping the rewards from the hard work that you put in

If I miss two days of not meditating, I don't feel right

The more we think about it, the more we give ourselves reasons not to do it

Work on discipline in every single area of your life because the way you do anything is the way you do everything

Whenever you get an idea for something, act on it immediately; because the longer that you wait on something the less likely it is to happen

With growth comes bigger and better problems, that's part of that growth process

What I Learned From My Last Haircut at the Barbershop

I recently got A LITTLE TOO MUCH of a haircut and in this short and sweet clip I share with you how I approached the incident with peace of mind and why you should take the time to make note of events in your life that just don’t warrant any excessive outburst.

Under the conditions that the world is in now, and the struggle that people are facing, we need kindness, empathy, and gentle souls that lift other people up and keep them up, not push them down, ESPECIALLY after losing a few extra hairs!

Their thinking is like: a girl stays at home, gets married and that's what she does.” So, Gabi said to herself, 'that's not her way to live, everyone looks so miserable in that kind of living'.

She moved to LA with $10 in her pocket and into an apartment with 8 dudes from high school. “It was the funniest and craziest time of her life.” She said.
