Blood and Ashes: A Wheel of Time Spoilercast

Welcome back to another great mix of storylines in our latest episode! 

We're nearing the pointy end of Lord of Chaos and all the pieces are moving a lot:

The Salidar Embassy is trying to figure out what to do about Rand while also trying to figure out how to cooperate with Verin and Allana.

Mat refuses to stew in Salidar and goes dancing. With a Forsaken. And some Aes Sedai. He gets propositioned by Myrelle to be bonded as her warder and he gets thouroughly kissed by Leanne. Way to make a splash, Mat!

And the prodigal beefy boy returns! Only to be grilled by his new in-laws and immediately requested to go to Tear by Rand. 

Some fake Aiel attack an Aes Sedai in Caemlyn to send a message, and finally, Nynaeve and Elayne travel to Ebou Dar with Mat and a couple of the band's men to go looking for the Bowl of Winds.

We are spoilt for POVs this episode with pretty much the whole gang here. Except for Perrin...

Egwene is running things in Salidar with the help of Siuan, Nynaeve and Elayne. She also takes control of Mogehedien.

Mat Salidar and immediately things get comical. He also links back up with Thom who seems to be moved by the letter Mat brought him.

Aviendha finally comes clean to Elayne, but for her trouble is informed there is another woman in the mix!

Speaking of which, Min arrives in Caemlyn and is reunited with Rand, even if things don't immediately get as romatic as she had hoped. But a start is a start.

Then, to cap it all off, The Black Tower is officially named. And so are the Asha'man. Goosebumps.

We're back, baby! And so is Egwene!

Undoubtedly the highlight of this stretch is what happens with Egwene as she says goodbye to her Aiel Wise One mentors and heads back to Salidar to face... punishment?

Rand drops Aviendha off with Mat and gives Mat a new mission: Find Elayne and put her on the Lion Throne. Plus some side quests.

And we also get a bunch of Whitecloak info with POVs from Eamon Valda and Raddam Asunawa. Ugh.

Back in Caemlyn Rand has some meetings and during the course of the day he's attacked by a Gray Man.  

We get a quick reminder of how foul Padan Fain is, and move over to Salidar where Nynaeve is hung over. Oh, and then she heals both gentling and stilling. 

Salidar is abuzz with Nynaeve's discovery and in the midst of the excitement, Asan'gar arrives in their Halima persona. Uh oh.

Graendal and Sammael duke it out in a game of bluff and Egwene has gone full Aiel when the Aes Sedai embassy from the Tower arrives in Cairhien and we meet the sisters coming to have a chat with Rand...

It's good to be back after a nice long holiday as we leave the inaction of Salidar behind and get back to... Rand and his moods. But don't despair! Things do get interesting.

Rand first entertains some Andoran nobles, adds two and two with regards to his lineage, and then entertains a meat puppet from Sammael.

He jets off to Cairhien where he has to make some tough choices (for a change!?) and has a relatively fruitless conversation with Egwene. He does however have a great philosphical chat with Herid Fel after inspecting all the new invetions at his school for gifted youngsters. I mean, university.

And finally he's visited by Ogier looking for Loial. But in typical Rand fashion, he sets them to work and makes use of their knowledge in his never ending quest to prepare for Tarmon Gai'don.

Hello and welcome back to Salidar! I mean, Blood and Ashes!

We spend the majority of our time with Nynaeve as she's desperately trying to learn about what direction the Hall will take, trying to break her block and looking for a way out of salidar where she suddenly feels very claustrophobic.

Elayne is less keen to leave but she and Nynaeve make a trip to Tel'aran'rhiod to find something via the "need" method and end up in Ebou Dar.

But back in the waking world they have to navigate the prying sisters, the downright intimidating Tarna Feir from the White Tower and oh, just a bubble of evil trying to kill everyone.

And Egwene has a saucy dream!

Man, Lord of Chaos just keeps throwing punches.

We start off with arather innocuous chapter following Nynaeve through Salidar as she picks up bits of information from Logain, Siuan, Theodrin, Lelaine and even Moghedien.

We check in Pedron Niall and his spy master(s) as well as Morgase.

And then we switch to Rand who runs into some familiar faces! Some of those faces are a welcome sight, others, not so much. Things go down and they have repercussions for the rest of the story. Huge moment.

And lastly, Rand checks in with Taim and his initiates and gives Taim permission to start even more agressive recruitment. Things are really hotting up at the farm!

If you love reading about the Forsaken, you're in for a treat.

Welcome back to this, our penultimte episode for The Fires of Heaven!

Nynaeve and Elayne make it to Salidar where they're given a rather cold welcome, and their companions find their own way of integrating with the group already gathered there. But before then they have to fight their way through the streets of Samara to make it onto a boat.

Min finally comes clean to Elayne about being one of Rand's love interests, and Elayne is thankfully quite gracious about it.

Back in Cairhien Rand is plotting his next move when he receives news from Caemlyn as well as 2 letters from Tar Valon.

The stage is set for a massive finale, and that's saying a lot considering the battle we just experienced in the previous episode!

But before Moghedien can enact her evil pla, Birgitte puts an arrow through hjer chest before being unceremoniously ripped from T'A'R by the felled forsaken.

Liandrin pays a hefty price for attempting to strike at Moghedien while she's vulnerable, and Birgitte, now in for corporeal form joins the circus.

Siuan, Min, Leanne and Logain make it to Salidar where they get a bit of a cold welcome, followed shortly by Gareth Bryne who promptly joins the Salidar cause as their shiny new general! Partly because he can't helphimself, but mostly because he's kinda into ol' Siuan...

We have a brief moment of horror with Hadnan Kadere, just to remind us how vile he is, but then we switch to Rand who sends some Aiel ahead to recon Cairhien and the Shaido situation, before following a startled Aviendha through a gateway into a blizzard! They keep each other warm and make their way back through the gateway to relative safety. 

It's a big one!

And just like that we're back from the dead! Well, a 2 week break, but it feels like forever!

In this episode we cover, basically, a long walk through a mountain pass. Rand and the Aiel come across a village at the mouth of Jangai Pass that's been ravaged by the Shaido, and Rand has to start managing the Aiel perception and treatment of wetlanders.

Rand and Aviendha continue their dance of cluelessness vs. stubborness, Mat goes one on one with a Fade and Egwene meets up with Elayne in T'A'R to exchange information.

Egwene also draws the unwated attention of Moghedien in the world of dreams, walking into traps she doesn't even understand. Hell, we don't even understand them!

Welcome back friendly friends!

In this episode we are... treated? To a bunch of darkfriendery.

First Nynaeve has Birgitte report back on Forsaken activity in Tel'aran'rhiod, and then uses the world of dreams to spy on [GASP] the new Amyrlin Seat! 

Egwene swings the power pendulum back in her own direction, getting one over on an obviously rattled Nynaeve, and then has a lovely conversation with Moiraine as an equal.

BAck in the waking world Nynaeve and Elayne run into Galad and panic, immediately running off to join the circus.

We get a real dose of the dark as Liandrin comes face to face with her new master, Moghedien, and all the remaining Black Ajah sisters in her group get new orders.

Finally, Morgase starts catching on to the fact that Gaebril is no bueno, and makes moves to escape his influence with a rag-tag group of of friends.

Welcome back to Blood and Ashes: Eyes and Ears Edition!

Nynaeve and Elayne identify a member of the Yellow Ajah message network but their interaction does not go down well. Not as well as a delicious cup of Forkroot tea. Luckily Thom and Juilin have their wits about them.

Then Siuan gets a crucial clue from a bawdy tavern, giving her their next destination, but the wily ol' Gareth Bryne and his group of geriatric soldiers are surprisingly, hot on their heels!

The girls then have a brief encounter with everyone's favourite ring master, Valan Luca, before bedding down in a small town and catch up with Egwene in Tel'aran'rhiod, and check in with Birgitte Silverbow.

Fun times laced with some pretty childish behaviour. Let's discuss!
