    Ep79: The Path of Daggers, Chapters 12 - 15

What a mix in this episode!

Three forsaken in one room. That goes about as well as you'd imagine. ThenCadsuane and Sorilea in one room, another clash of strong personalities...

Rand is scooping up the remnants of Lord Brend's army in the countryside and then gets reports from Eben Hopwill, Fedwin Morr and Torval before sending them all off. Narishma gets some special instructions too...

And we get back to Egwene who has had another obstacle put in her way. Quite literally. An army.

    Ep78: The Path of Daggers, Chapters 9 - 11

    Ep78: The Path of Daggers, Chapters 9 - 11

    Things are happening!

Well, sort of. Perrin is trying to manage his hodge podge army while at the same time meddling in Wise Ones' affairs. Seems foolhardy.

But things suddenly take a turn when Alliandre shows up in camp and Perrin stumbles his way to a small victory. And then some hangings. Also, Elyas!

We catch up with the loathemsome Sevanna who is holding on for dear life trying to control the Shaido Wise Ones, and Galina ends up swearing an oath to obey Sevanna and Therava, and it's starting to look a little hopeless for this black ajah sister...

We're back after a loooong break and we're rearing to go!

Much like Nynaeve, Elayne and Aviendha as they flee the Kin's farm to avoid Seanchan capture. In the process Elayne attempts something dangerous and almost pays the ultimate price...

Perrin in the meantime sends Berelain to meet with Queen Alliandre and on the way back to his camp saves Morgase and co. from a Dragonsworn attack. They join his army and suddenly Faile has a bunch of staff!

Also, Tallanvor continues his tortured courtship of Morgase, but he seems to be making some inroads.

    Ep76: The Path of Daggers, Chapters 2 - 5

    Ep76: The Path of Daggers, Chapters 2 - 5

Welcome back everyone! In this episode we finally get to see the use of the fabled Bowl of the Winds! But first we have a bit of housekeeping to do.

The girls, Windfinders, Kin and Aes Sedai travel through the gateway to the Kin's farm while being observed by both Moridin and the gholam. Even Moridin is impressed by Aviendha's skill at unweaving.

On the other side of the gateway there is a ride of a couple hours until they reach the farm and the various groups put Elayne's skills as a leader to the test.

At the farm pandemonium breaks loose but eventually everyone is brought under control and the channellers use the Bowl of the winds to... great success? Time will tell!

As they finish they notice action over Ebou Dar, and immediately are faced with downing a raken. It's time to RUN!

Ep75: The Path of Daggers, Prologue - Chapter 1

Ep75: The Path of Daggers, Prologue - Chapter 1

Well well well! What's this? A brand new book? Excellent!

We join the leaders of the Borderlands as they make a blood pact to... do something?

Verin meanwhile is running her own little game from within the Aiel camp outside Cairhien.

And Aviendha is struggling with her own growing fondness for wetlander extravagances like dresses and horses, much to her consternation. She, Elayne and Nynaeve prepare to move the Kin and the Windfinders to the Kin's farm outside the city so they can use The Bowl of the Winds to finally correct the weather.

It's all setup for what is hopefully a slogless book!

    Ep74: A Crown of Swords, Chapters 39 - 41

    Ep74: A Crown of Swords, Chapters 39 - 41

It's the book 7 finale and the halfway point of the series!

Mat tries desperately to get the channelers to listed to him after the Gholam attack and finally gets some traction only to learn Olver is gone. So while everyone prepares to set off with the Bowl of the Winds, Mat heads into the city to find Olver when all hell breaks loose.

Then we check in with a number of villains. Galina, Sevanna, Therava, Sammael, Graendal and even Shaidar Haran make an appearance and Sammael scatters the shaido to the wind and all hell breaks loose.

Rand wakes up from his regenerative sleep and immediately sets off to face Sammael. They take their fight to Shadar Logoth where, you guessed it, all hell breaks loose.

    Ep73: A Crown of Swords, Chapters 36 - 38

    Ep73: A Crown of Swords, Chapters 36 - 38

We're getting close to the end and it's white knuckle stuff!

Rand shows off his sword techniques before he, Min, Cadsuane and others are accosted by Padan Fain and Mashadar 2.0!

Rand takes a ruby hilted dagger to the side and almost dies before Sumitsu and Damer Flinn stabilize his and save his life.

Meanwhile Mat is preoccupied with thoughts of Tylin and her treatment of him while they prepare to retrieve The Bowl of the Winds from the Rahad. But things go terribly wrong and a gholam inflicts heavy losses upon the good guys.

Lucky for everyone, Mat is there to save the day, no matter how begrudgingly he does it!

    Ep72: A Crown of Swords, Chapters 32 - 35

    Hello hello hello!

In this week's episode we check in with everyone's least favourite Amyrlin as she is deftly cornered and manoeuvred by Alviarin. However, the Black ajah sister's actions indirectly result in a fresh hunt for the shadow sisters in the Tower.

Rand is sad. Min makes him feel better and he is bathed and ogled by Min and the Maidens. Now fresh of odour and mind, Rand meets with the Seafolk to finally strike a deal.

Riding his ta'veren fortunes he decides to take on the rebels camped out in the forest, so he takes Min and they manage to meet up with the traitorous nobles where he spots his old nemesis. Not Cadsuane, although she's there too, but none other than Padan Fain!

    Ep71: A Crown of Swords, Chapters 28 - 31

Welcome back, friends! Or are we the ones that are back? I forget.

In this episode we bear witness to poor Mat being completely victimised by Tylin. At least he doesn't seem too cut up about it, but it does generate a good conversation about consent.

Elayne puts her foot down with the rebel Aes Sedai and finally gets to show Reanne and The Kin who she really is.

And Moghedien shoots her shot, and misses, effectively freeing Nynaeve from her block. Happy days!

    Ep70: A Crown of Swords, Chapters 23 - 27

Hello and welcome back to the kidnapping corner!

All jokes aside, wtf tries to kidnap Nynaeve and Elayne in Ebou Dar? TThey meet the Kin, get bustled out and immediately fall afoul of some would-be assailants.

In the meantime Moghedien has to face her fate as a Moridin puppet, and Morgase and co live through the Seanchan invasion of Amadicia. Then walk out the front door.

And finally we have Perrin leave Cairhien behind with quite the entourage.

    Ep69: A Crown of Swords, Chapters 18 - 22

    Ep69: A Crown of Swords, Chapters 18 - 22

We're back and better than ever!

In this episode we see the entrance of everyone's favourite scary grandma, Cadsuane!

We check in with Sevanna, Sammael and Graendal, all being spied on by Moridin who makes his entry into the series. Just who is more crazy or delusional between those is debateable.

We also hop back to Ebou Dar where Birgitte and Mat bond over some pitchers of wine and Nynaeve is forced by Elayne to go apologise to Mat for their their treatment of him after Aviendha schools them in ji'e'toh.

Immediately after doing so, the girls latch onto a new lead.

    Ep68: A Crown of Swords, Chapters 13 - 17

    Ep68: A Crown of Swords, Chapters 13 - 17

Welcome back to Ebou Dar! In this episode we leave Egwene and the rebel Aes Sedai behind and check in on our intrepid girls, plus Mat.

Elayne, Aviendha and Nynaeve decide to approach the many Sea Folk anchored in the Ebou Dar bay to ask for help finding what they now know to be The Bowl of the Winds.

Mat, on the other hand, is gambling. He spots a familiar face in a crowd and follws her to the palace used by Jaichim Carridin. When we switch points of view to Bors, he's meeting with all sorts of unsavoury folks.

Mat heads to the palace to warn the girls but instead kicks not one but two hornests nests but running into a group of tower and rebel Aes Sedai, and then catching the eye of queen Tylin herself!

After escaping both situations he heads back to the Wandering Woman only be be set upon by would-be assassins.

Then, to finish things off we get a quick point of view from some Black Ajah sisters also looking for the Bowl, as well as an as yet unnamed beggar that will play a big role in the future.

    It's all happening!

    Ep67: A Crown of Swords, Chapters 10 - 12

    Ep67: A Crown of Swords, Chapters 10 - 12

In this episode we focus in on Egwene as she tries deperately to carve out her place within the Aes Sedai while maintaining her link to the Wise Ones and Rand.

First she deals with Faolain and Theodrin with great results! But she is quickly reminded of the work she has cut out for her when she's cornered by Romanda and Lelaine. To the point that she just walks away from them in order to follow up with a request from Gareth Bryne and simultaneously question Myrelle over some suspicious behavior observed by Siuan.

Gareth comes through with a veiled pledge of alliegance to Egwene, personally, instead of the Hall. A hug win for our girl.

And finally, Myrelle is forced to lead Egwene and Siuan to the secret camp where she had been "rehabilitating" Lan. Egwene puts a quick stop to this and sends Lan on a mission to Ebou Dar.

    Ep66: A Crown of Swords, Chapters 6 - 9

Welcome back, friends! Sit back, relax, and listen to Willie and I bloviate while Jody sinks deeper into his chair.

Perrin and Faile reunite and make up, and Rand immediately tries to send Perrin to Tear and Illian. Tsk tsk.

Rand then travels to Caemlyn himself to meet with Bashere and Bael. He tells them the army will march on Illian, much to Bael and Bashere's glee.

Meanwhile, Egwene is squeezing Sheriam for info when she senses Moghedien escape. She has one on ones with Siuan and Leane before being cornered by Nicola and Areina who try to blackmail her! Silly geese...

    Ep65: A Crown of Swords, Chapters 2 - 5

    Ep65: A Crown of Swords, Chapters 2 - 5

We love when RJ focuses in on a short period of time and lays it out over multiple chapters.

In this episode we basically have Rand and co. travel from Dumai's Wells via gateway, and take a day's ride to Cairhien.

There they head straight to the palace and confront lady Colavere who has been crowned queen in Rand's absence.

All of this plays out in a pressure cooker with almost every single faction at each other's throats.  Aiel, Asha'man, Aes Sedai, Two Rivers men, Mayeners, Warders, Hunters for the Horn, rebels from both Tear and Cairhien, hell, there's a forsaken in their midst!

    Ep64: A Crown of Swords, Prologue - Chapter 1

    Ep64: A Crown of Swords, Prologue - Chapter 1

Mmmmm, that's the smell of a brand new book!

We start A Crown of Swords pretty much exactly where we left off with Lord of Chaos: Dumai's Wells.

Elaida and Alviarin catch up and we get a clear view of Elaida's state of mind. Spoiler: it's no bueno.

We see Sevanna's point of view just before, during and immediately after the battle at Dumai's wells

Alviarin gets a visit from a Forsaken and learns a new trick.

Pedron Niall is assassinated and Eamon Valda immediately moves in to capitalise.

And Gawyn leads the remnants of the Younglings in battle against some Shaido.

Lastly, we have Perrin sitting nervously, observing the boiling tension around the makeshift camp after the batlle of Dumai's Wells, and we see the signs of his difference of opinion to Rand.

Loads of setup with a decent amount of action Let us know what you think!

Ep63: Lord of Chaos, Chapter 53 - Epilogue

Ep63: Lord of Chaos, Chapter 53 - Epilogue

Ok, get comfy. It's not our beefiest episode yet, but it's beefy nonetheless.

Everyone realises what's happened to Rand, so Perrin leads an all star team to rescue him and they set off after the kidnappers.

Rand is not doing so well, physically or mentally.

By the time Perrin arrives chaos erupts in one of the most iconic battles in the series.

    Ep62: Lord of Chaos, Chapters 48 - 52

Oooooooo, we're getting close now! In this episode we set up for the explosive finale for Lord of Chaos and things are really heating up!

Nynaeve, Elayne, Mat and co set out on their mission in Ebou Dar after the wonder girls meet with Queen Tylin. Who turns out to be a formiddable figure but ultimately friendly to the ladies. the girls have no luck in the Rahad butt do catch a glimpse of a healer who seems to be able to channel...

Mat's luck is ebbing slightly as he tries desperately, and without success, to keep tabs on Elayne like he'd promised Rand.

The Salidar embassy tries to bully Rand and it comepletely backfires. When Rand learns there are 13 Aes Sedai in Caemlyn he rallies his closest allies (including Loial!) and they teleportt to Cairhien.

In Cairhien Rand seems to relax a little but Perrin is having a torrid time as the Faile vs Berelain games begin in earnest.

And when everyonbe is adequately distracted, Galina and the Tower embassy kidnap Rand through trickery and stuff him in a box.

Things are about to pop off, bigtime!
