By Our Love

We missed a couple of weeks on our podcast, so we wanted to update everyone on life, the tropical disease that keeps getting us down, and our newest adventure of camping in Africa with our children. We also had the opportunity to interview Graham and Stanley, our newest mission additions from Canada. They will be sojourning  with us for the next year, and are diligently working on a detailed research project in oral communication patterns.

In this episode Charlton reflects and shares his thoughts in light of a dear family in our fellowship who lost their baby boy. Death is the last enemy that will be destroyed and it is not the intention of our God who has given us the vocation of life. Christians have hope in the resurrected Messiah!

For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”

“O Death, where is your sting?
O Hades, where is your victory?”

The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus the King. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

In this episode we discuss the why behind our choice to homeschool our children. As well as the how, with having nine students this year. Our approach to home education is founded in the scriptures, so we dig deep into the principles found in Deuteronomy. We also share what curriculum, and resources we use.

Therefore you shall lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul, and bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall teach them to your children, speaking of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.

We had the opportunity to interview Yann and Hannah Larrieu, who just moved to Uganda from the Greek island of Lesvos where they worked in a refugee camp called Moria for several years. Yann grew up in Qatar, and Hannah grew up in Ireland. The Lord has certainly used them in big ways, and we know everyone will thoroughly enjoy  this conversation. 

So what is our holy calling? It certainly is nothing we can do in our own strength. 

In this episode Natasha is sharing parts of her testimony, and the work God has been doing in her heart over the years as she has yielded in obedience to King Jesus. She gives her reflections on the story of Mary in the Gospel according to Luke, and how Mary finds favor in God's eyes. Natasha also discusses what it means to be precious in the sight of God according to the instructions given by the apostle Peter.

Part 2 - Greater works than these will you do because I go to the Father...

Today we're continuing our discussion with Matthew as we reflect on the creation story and the significance of being created in God's image. God's intention in the Gospel is to remake humanity into what He wanted humans to be, Jesus is the express image of the Father and has shown us the true way of humanity.

Today we're unpacking how we confront injustice in our world with our special guest, Matthew Milioni. 
Matthew is a Christian who is committed to seeing the Kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven. He played an instrumental role in serving the South Sudanese Refugees in the midst of their civil war, which displaced millions of men, women, and children. His faithful witness for our King is inspiring.
