Why do we need salvation? From what are we saved? What is salvation by grace? We continue our series on the letter to the Ephesians, examining Ephesians 2:1-10. We deserved God's wrath, but God, rich in mercy and love, intervened and saved us by His grace. Salvation is a gift from God, and it's not something we can boast about. Instead, we are saved for a purpose - to do good works that God has prepared for us in advance. This message reminds us of the amazing grace of God, which has transformed our lives and freed us from the bondage of sin. It calls us to live in accordance with God's ways and to walk in the light as children of light. What was Paul’s prayer for the church? Paul prayed for the Spirit of wisdom and Revelation, illumination so that we may know the hope to which God has called us, know the riches of his glorious inheritance, and know the great power for us in Christ. This is a rich prayer. Our idea of prayer is to pray in the time of crisis. When we pray for someone, we pray that God bless them and let their circumstances change. When Paul prays for some situation, he prays, “Lord through this difficult circumstances give them the grace so that they may have wisdom, knowledge and understanding of who you are.”
