The attacks on Justice Clarence Thomas for his friendship with Texas billionaire Harlan Crow not only continue an illegitimate political pressure campaign against the Supreme Court but also expose the moral vacuum that is Washington, D.C.  ProPublica, a website funded by liberal millionaires, the Washington Post, a newspaper owned by a billionaire, and The New York Times, a media company long owned by a wealthy family, have runs stories over the last month claiming that Thomas has violated ethics codes governing federal judges.

"This tangled web around Justice Clarence Thomas just gets worse and worse by the day," Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Dick Durbin, D-IL, said this week. Several of his colleagues have called for an investigation into Thomas and have made demands for confidential financial information from Crow.  But a close look shows that this supposed scandal amounts to little more than an accounting error that has never given rise to claims of scandal before, at least when liberal judges were involved.

In the first ProPublica report, critics attacked Thomas for failing to report in his financial disclosure forms that Crow had hosted him for trips on his private jet, yacht, and lodge. The financial reporting rules did not require disclosure of hospitality from personal friends – indeed, only in March, after these trips took place, did the federal judiciary decide that judges in future should report private jet travel or stays at commercial hotels.   Although the article implied that Crow sought to buy influence with Thomas, the former runs a construction and real estate company that has no business before the Court.

     Residents of Texas, Arizona, and other states along the US/Mexico border are bracing for a potentially massive influx of illegal immigrants starting May 11th. That’s when Title 42, put in place during COVID to make it easier for authorities to expel illegal immigrants, is set to expire. Even before the expected human wave of asylum seekers puts an additional strain on our already hoarse 1,500-mile+ southern border, deadly consequences are already taking place in Texas.

     A 42-year-old Mexican illegal immigrant named, Francisco Oropesa, gunned down 5 people, including women and a 9-year-old child earlier this week. The suspect remained at large prior to being captured Tuesday night after a massive statewide manhunt. FOX News reports Oropesa had been apprehended and deported back to Mexico an astounding 5 times prior to his deadly rampage.

“My fear is that my fellow Americans in other states can’t wrap their heads around the severity of the border crisis. It is so serious here that the city of El Paso has declared a state of emergency because so many asylum seekers are under the belief that starting May 11th, they will have free and easy access to the country. Thousands are camped out just across the river in Juarez and are about to stream into the country illegally. Regardless of your political views, neither Texas nor anywhere else in America has the infrastructure in place to handle the enormous influx of people,” said Battle.

Joe and Kamala will not be on the 2024 ticket…Joe Biden announced his reelection bid today via a slick produced video.  The president made his announcement despite the fact that most Democrats do not want him to run for reelection.  The good news for Biden is that they would vote for him anyway. Biden’s announcement essentially clears the field for him preventing any establishment candidate from entering the race.  The wild card for the Democrats is RFK’s entry into the primary.  In a less than objective article about his candidacy, the NYT reveals how it has become a mouthpiece for the DC power structure.Another Biden/Harris ticket is making the Democratic power brokers nervous.

Here is my Florida fearless forecast for the Democratic ticket. By mid 2024 Biden drops out of the race and the insiders maneuver to nominate the utterly feckless, power-hungry Gov. Gavin Newsome of California to replace Biden.  That would mean Kamala could not be the VP nominee because the president and vice-president must be from different states (Art. II, Sec. 3). The insiders thus get a new ticket with one that would be more competitive than old Joe and the giggler from California.  A woman would have to fill the VP slot, but not necessarily of color.  I think the odds-on favorite would be Sen. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota, a state the Democrats would like to keep in 2024, but a state they could afford to lose. It is now nearly May 2023 and every day that goes by increases the possibility of a serious medical/cognitive issue for Biden.  This could be the reason the DNC announced there will be no debates of the primary candidates.If an incumbent candidate, especially the president of the United States, does not debate his opponents, he is not worthy of reelection.  Period.  A robust debate of the issues among the candidates is crucial for a vibrant democracy.  If Biden does not debate RFK, Jr. and others who are in the race or may jump into the primary, then Joe should call it a day and retire to Delaware.

The most significant things can start from the most ordinary moments.

“This started from a trip my daughter and I had and we stopped by McDonald’s and this lady [who was] going to a pro-abortion march asked my daughter to join her because she saw she was Black, and she thought she was a liberal Democrat,” Vince Everett Ellison recalls. “And my daughter very, very nicely said, ‘Uh, ma’am, I’m a Christian and I vote my values.”

“And that was just so interesting to me because I said, why don’t more people say that? ‘I’m a Christian and I vote my values?’”

Fear? The fear of being shouted at. The fear of being ostracized. The fear of being canceled, and losing one’s career, friends, and social standing. The siren song of the woke herd mentality can be enticing. But not to the Ellison family.

“They want you to castrate little boys and cut off the breast of little girls. And they’re telling people they’re not going to be held responsible for this? That is a lie. The Democratic Party is an evil institution. They are controlled by a cabal of perverts, liars and psychopaths,” said Ellison. 

“Evil is anyone who intentionally harms a child,” Ellison recently told Emerald Robinson on Lindell TV. He noted that Democrats in Virginia recently blocked two laws related to harming children. One law would have required schools to call parents if their child is transitioning from one gender to another. Another would have required boys and girls to compete in sports aligned with their birth gender. Democrats blocked both, interfering with the parent-child relationship and opening the way for biological boys to compete in girls’ sports, which is both unfair and unsafe given boys’ inherent size and strength advantages.

Challenging the NSTA’s Position Statement on Climate Change

Clarity from Chaos guest: Mr. Gregory Wrightstone. Greg is a geologist and the Executive Director of the CO2 Coalition in Arlington Virginia. He is bestselling author of Inconvenient Facts: The Science that Al Gore doesn't want you to know.

The CO2 Coalition has reviewed the National Science Teaching Association’s Position Statement on Climate Change and has found that it has serious problems, which we address in this assessment. Our objections to this document are many but can be separated into two major categories. Our detailed rebuttal, Challenging NSTA Position Statement on Climate Change, was published March 23, 2023.

• Reliance on “consensus” science and a rejection of critical thinking skills and the scientific method.
• NSTA’s embrace of the hypothesis of “harmful man-made warming” despite its basis in flawed science and government opinions and its rejection of all contradictory science.

A primary role for the NSTA should be to develop critical thinking skills for students and to instill in them knowledge and use of the scientific method. Students should be encouraged to review all facts on a subject (in this case climate change) and make up their own minds rather than be indoctrinated into an established political agenda.

Unfortunately, the NSTA has taken a strong position that is antithetical to the scientific method, critical thinking and open scientific debate. Its position is one of censorship of any scientist or science that does not support the NSTA-approved “science.” The NSTA Position Statement on Climate Change fails to delineate between real science and political science.

Mr. Wrightstone is a geologist with more than 35 years of studying the Earth's processes. He earned a bachelor's degree from Waynesburg University and a master's from West Virginia University, both in the field of geology. He has presented the results of his research around the world, including India, Ireland and China.

Gregory’s book was the result of a quest for the truth about climate change — a subject uncritically reported by the mainstream media of an Earth lurching inexorably toward climate apocalypse. Contrary to the hyperbole of climate alarmists, Wrightstone’s review of the science provides the historical context of the Earth that shows clearly that rising temperatures and increasing carbon dioxide are benefiting both the planet and the human condition.
