Eliana is a Chemist and a Pharmacist from New Zealand with studies in Public Health in the Taipei Medical University. 

She has more than 10 years of experience working in the pharmaceutical industry, in the areas of R&D, quality control and regulatory affairs. She currently works as the chief scientist of Myriad Pharmaceuticals, and works as a researcher on the fields of pharmacology and chemistry of nicotine, and the fields of safety and quality of ENDS/ENNDS.

As a community leader and as a pharmacist Eliana has worked closely with New Zealand most vulnerable populations including people with addictions, rainbow minorities, homeless populations and refugees.

Covid-19 pandemic and the race for a vaccine has shown the deep gap between nations when it comes to Public Health.

What are the main obstacles to overcome in the future?

The European Commission and its Scientific Committee on Health, Environmental and Emerging Risks (SCHEER) has recently published a preliminary Opinion on electronic cigarettes.

The report mainly focused on adverse health effects and the risks associated with e-cigarettes.

Following the publication, three leading scientists contesting the conclusions of the report.
