Season 4: Demiworld Outtakes & Highlights
A huge thank you from Kelly and myself for making Demiworld such a fun romp. We have enjoyed 4 seasons of crazy crimes, strange tales, and mysterious events. But now with the lockdowns, finding time to research and record with an overactive kiddo underfoot is impossible. As such, we are forced to place the podcast on a permanent hiatus.

Minisode: Ancient Mysteries We Didn't Do

Minisode: Ancient Mysteries We Didn't Do
In the process of researching our episodes, we run along so many other great stories to tell, but most don't make the cut. Here are two historic mysteries that didn't make it into Demiworld's Ancient Mysteries episode.

Kelly: Ancient Mysteries – Mass Infant Grave in Israel

Along the shores of Israel's Mediterranean coast, in the ancient seaport of Ashkelon, archaeologist Ross Voss made a gruesome find. While exploring one of the city’s sewers, he discovered a large number of small bones. Initially, the bones were believed to be chicken bones. However, it was later discovered that the bones were actually human –infant bones from the Roman era. With the remains amounting to more than 100 babies, it was the largest discovery of infant remains to date.

Cyndi: Ancient Mysteries – The Lost Civilization of Atlantis

    Excavation at Santorini

Plato first mentioned the hedonistic civilization of Atlantis that was wiped out by the gods for their immoral ways. Through recent excavations of the Greek island of Santorini, an ancient civilization conforming to Plato's description of Atlantis was discovered. A vast volcanic eruption that caused a huge tsunami, shock waves that damaged the pyramids in Egypt, and created a mini ice age that lasted two years, decimated Santorini.

    Episode 29: Ancient Mysteries

    Episode 29: Ancient Mysteries
This week Kelly and Cyndi envisage Ancient Mysteries with the Codex Gigas, also known as the Devils Bible and the South American Nazca Lines.

Kelly: Ancient Mysteries – The Codex Gigas aka, The Devil's Bible

The Codex Gigas is a medieval illuminated manuscript from the early 13th-century Bohemia. The Codex Gigas is three-feet tall, almost two-feet wide, 9-inches thick, and weighs about 165 pounds. It takes two people to carry it. Codex Gigas translates from Latin to Giant Book.

Written by the disgraced monk, Herman the Recluse, he was given a reprieve by the Abbot if he wrote a book containing all the knowledge of the world, but he had to do it either in one night or one year. Realizing that he'd never make it in time, the legend has it that Herman the Recluse sold his to the Devil. more…

Cyndi: Ancient Mysteries – Nazca Lines

The Nazca Lines are a series of geoglyphs (designs or motifs carved into the ground) in the Peruvian Coastal plain about 250 miles (400 km) south of Lima, Peru in South America. Created by the ancient Nazca people these geoglyphs depict flowers, animals, human figures, and lines. Owing to their lager and life-size, the 2,000-year-old Nazca Lines can only be truly appreciated, or even viewed, from the air. Despite having been studied for nearly a century, researchers, historians, archeologists, and scientists still don’t know exactly why the Nazca people covered the vast desert with these geoglyphs. more…
