Real Rich is working on what he describes as spiritually changing music a step away from his single Real Rich produced by Bambino in 2015 and Lifestyle Rich, the collaboration with Teetimus on the Claims Record label in 2016.

Now his catalogue boasts tracks like Stronger and River Kingdom.

"I cannot say what I am putting out is dancehall or reggae alone because I can go overseas and do hip hop or I can meet up with Sizzla and do a nice culture song. I am all for anything that feels right and great," he said. "But for now, I want to get my songs as Real Rich out there before I start to collaborate again."

Although the image is not far from what his audience is used to, Real Rich revealed that he has made a few lifestyle changes as well. "I don't drink liquor anymore (three months and counting). Sometimes is like a war with my inner self to buy a bottle of Hennessy when I go to a party, and I have not had meat for about five months," he shared.

He also said that he restricts social media use when he feels like it is taking the attention from things like praying in the morning.

    Press Fyah

    Press Fyah

His desire for football subsided in 2003 after he got a job as a firefighter and realized that there was just not enough time in his schedule for soccer; his only solace was writing music during his lunch hour. He slowly embraced the idea of becoming a recording artiste and so he started sharing his music in his community. He was later introduced to a group of young artistes who wanted to assist him in improving his craft. Instead, he ended up joining their group; they were known as Space House. Unfortunately, the group did not achieve much success so Press Fyah continued to work as a solo performer even though he maintained a solid relationship with them.

    Foota Hype

    Foota Hype

Foota found himself mastering the art of debating forcefully among his friends, and was known to have an answer for everything. These were the building blocks of his verbal assaults he is known for while selecting. By the time he was 13, Foota found out he could rhyme, and write, but rather than become a deejay, he chose to pursue selecting. “I can rhyme good and write tune but it was not in me to deejay it back. Mi strength is in debating, but who knows. Maybe mi no see it yet,” he states.

His turntable duties started on the Twilight sound system, which back then had the basic set up of two turntables, a mixer, amplifiers, and three boom boxes. Nothing was basic about his experiences though. Foota was schooled on this sound system. He learnt how to interact with his audience, and how to judge crowd reactions to his tunes.

He learnt how to play a complete set starting at a slow pace and building things up to feverish excitement.

    Runkus

    Runkus

Born Romario Sebastian Anthony Bennett in Portmore, Jamaica, Runkus is the son of reggae artist Determine and booking agent Paula Francis. While most artists choose their stage name at the start of their career, he earned his before he was even born. “When my mom was pregnant with me, I would give her a lot of trouble and a lady who lived nearby would rub my mom’s belly and say ‘runkus,’” the singer recalls. “I think she was trying to say ruckus. But here I am today: Runkus.”

Growing up in Portmore, Runkus was raised in the same fertile music soil that’s produced Jamaican music icons Vybz Kartel, Spice and Popcaan. It was his father, Determine, who was his greatest influence, introducing him to the teachings of Rastafari and the movements of the Jamaican reggae business. The two began recording together when Runkus was just 7 and, when he was 15, they released a joint mixtape, Like Father Like Son.

However, for Advance, the intimacy of the music industry occurred at age 8 when his uncle Bounty Killer entered the business. Bounty Killer has received the accolade as being a legend and a dancehall icon and is the founder of The Alliance Group of which Advance is a member. The Alliance consists of entertainers such Mavado, Elephant Man, Busy Signal and Wayne Marshall; these artists were actually recruited by Bounty Killer and all of whom have become world renowned entertainers. Jamaican critics have labelled Bounty Killer “as having an eye for great entertainers that not only shine but escalade to becoming spectacular artists”.
In 2005, Advance was given the opportunity to go on the United States tour with his uncle. And, it was there that this young man decided his destiny. However, upon his return to Jamaica, Advance’s mother had other plans for him as she envisioned him as being an electrician. Hence, right after high school he was sent to the HEART Academy in Portmore, St. Catherine to learn electrical engineering. Being a son who was bent on pleasing his mother,Advance obediently went to HEART.However, to execute his own dreams he spoke to his grandmother Ivy Williams (Miss Ivy) and with her help and his lunch money Advance attended vocal lessons after school and visited the studio, “to gain experience”, he said. Miss Ivy was very encouraging, as she said that if she had not facilitated her son’s dreams then the world would not have gotten the privilege to enjoy a Bounty Killer. For this reason “I open my heart and my pocket to Advance”, Miss Ivy said.
When asked about his music and how it has moulded him as a person Advance said “my music is very personal, it speaks to who I am as a person: loving, jovial, spontaneous, and creative, with positive messages all of which depicts my true life experiences which included those persons to whom I have experienced them with. The greatest reward for me is to see the reaction towards my music, the smiles, the tears and the joy that my music has bestowed on people, all over the world”.
