Dave Nemo Weekend Show Interview with Annette Wilcox on her Bumping the Dock (November 6, 2022)
In this episode of En Route Books & Media, Dave Nemo interviews Annette Wilcox on her book Bumping the Dock: A Story of God’s Grace and an 18-Wheeler. (November 6, 2022)

I am an unlikely person to be a long-haul trucker. People comment that I look more like a librarian or an English teacher than a trucker. And I have been both. Trucking is physically a little too hard for me. Perhaps for this reason, my life as a trucker has been one of radical dependence on God. The truck runs, after all, by grace, and I’m on the road only as long as God wants me to be. I have truly experienced that God’s mercies are new every morning and are inexhaustible. He always helps! That’s what this story is about.

This book is a resource for meditative prayer based on excerpts taken from the Apostolic Letter Patris Corde of Pope Francis (December 8, 2020). It is a prayerful journey into the attitudes and sentiments of St. Joseph as he surrenders himself to the will of God, who entrusted him with the precious gift of the Blessed Mother and the Incarnate Son.

St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary presents Theology Today - Spiritual Husbands-Spiritual Fathers (October 13, 2020)
St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary is delighted to invite you to their bi-annual Theology Today seminar, offered free to the public. The discussion will include the Bishops and Editors, Most Rev. Felipe J. Estévez and Most Rev. Andrew H. Cozzens, and Cohosts Fr. John Horn, SJ and Fr. Thomas Pulickal. The Bishops will describe the genesis of their work, provide an overview of contents and insights into the vital task of priestly formation, with emphasis on development of affective maturity for the embrace of chaste celibacy. Seminar participants will also be offered the opportunity to ask questions about the book and the presentation.

Here’s what some Church leaders have had to say about the book:

“This book is truly a treasure chest of formation and inspirational articles and essays not only for priests, seminarians and their spiritual directors and formators, but for all Catholics who love the Church and are seeking inspiration and practical counsel for their own personal growth in holiness.” – Alicia G. Goodwin, M.A.T.S., President, Our Lady of Divine Providence House of Prayer®

“Spiritual Husbands – Spiritual Fathers is a profound contribution to the Church and should be priority reading for all bishops as essential ongoing episcopal formation! This collection of resources, edited by Bishop Estévez and Bishop Cozzens, provides an essential presentation of celibacy and a practical guide for all who are entrusted with the work of seminary formation.” – Bishop Joseph Hanefeldt, Diocese of Grand Island, Nebraska.
