    S2E26 The As If Principle

Everyone, at some point in their life, feels like they are in a holding pattern, waiting for that specific, personal promised blessing. Listen as I discuss a remedy to that feeling, as we are meant to live with joy now, rather than living with a "placeholder" mentality.

    S2E25 The Unveiling of Women

Veiling of a person or room or object, Biblically speaking, was never about protecting that object or person that was on the inside, but about protecting what was on the outside. What was on the inside was incredibly powerful.

Listen as I discuss how I feel women are now "Emerging from the Wilderness" as our power has been unveiled!

    S2E24 Polygamy Part 2

    S2E24 Polygamy Part 2

In episode 23 I discussed how polygamy was an Abrahamic Sacrifice. In this episode I go into some of the cultural myths and rumors that have existed within the church and, hopefully, bring most of them to rest.

Our Heavenly Parents love their daughters!! I've had this truth reinforced over and over, and even having to live the law of polygamy for a time, they loved their daughters and sons that had to live the exception to the general law of monogamy.

    S2E23 Polygamy and Abrahamic Sacrifice

    S2E23 Polygamy and Abrahamic Sacrifice

How does God feel about polygamy? And does it really extend into eternity? What is the general law of marriage and what is the exception to the general law?

In part 1 of a 2 part special episode, I discuss D&C 132, most specifically about polygamy and why God chose to use the law of Hagar to teach us that not only does He understand the intensity of this commandment, but about elements about the Abrahamic sacrifice itself.

This should bring comfort and a bit more understanding about the nature of plural marriage and how it relates to Abraham.

Next week in part 2, I will go over commonly held cultural misunderstandings about plural marriage and put some ghosts to rest.

    The Holiness of our Gethsemane

    The Holiness of our Gethsemane

Mortality guarantees that there will be no escape from challenges, trials, and pain. At least once in our life we will have our own Gethsemane moment; one that--while not in intensity or equal purpose--will mirror that of the Savior's in the garden.

What do we do when we are left alone, when there is no one that is willing or capable of "staying awake with us just one hour"?

And what part does forgiveness play in our very personal  Gethsemane moments?

S1E20 Two Trees and Two Stewardships in the Garden of Eden

S1E20 Two Trees and Two Stewardships in the Garden of Eden

One of the biggest differences between the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and other denominations is that we believe that Eve’s choice in the Fall was a holy and righteous one; a necessary, vital step for all of mankind to take on the path to becoming more like our Heavenly Parents.

Have you ever wondered why Eve was created after Adam in the Garden of Eden? It has to do with the two trees in that garden: the Tree of Good and Evil and the Tree of Life and Eve and Adam as their specifically assigned stewards.

Each tree is considered a doorway, either from or to heaven. Eve and her daughters are stewards over one tree, while Adam and his sons are stewards over the other.

Listen in as I talk about how knowing the correct understand of the the Fall in the Garden of Eden will help Eve's daughters understand their divine mission and stewardship.

Also, listen as I discuss how Eve was recognized as a Life Giver before she ever had a  child or carried a single soul in her womb, and what this means for your divine mission as a woman!!

While I mostly speak about concepts and topics that are within the context of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, divine womanhood is necessary for all Christians and religions to understand.

S1E19 How to forgive others and yourself

S1E19 How to forgive others and yourself

Is it easier for some people to forgive than others? In theory we all understand the commandment that we are to forgive everyone, whether or not we experience our idea of justice or even an apology. Most of us understand this idea on an experimental level, but sooner or later on a practical level some of us may start scrambling for the loop-hole, confident that the commandment surely didn’t really mean everyone.

What if it is just too hard? What if we just don’t know how to forgive?

I discuss what forgiveness is, and what it is NOT. For instance, it is giving up those negative emotions of anger, resentment, hate, revenge, bitterness, and grudges. But forgiveness is not condoning or excusing the action that caused harm, nor is it necessarily tied to reconciliation.

There are four reasons why forgiveness is so difficult for most people, but that there is hope for anyone and everyone.

In this episode I discuss the REACH step by step process of how to forgive others, and that includes  yourself, often the hardest person to forgive.

While I mostly speak about concepts and topics that are within the context of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, forgiveness is for all Christians and religions, allowing individuals to experience peace and relief from a misguided commitment to anger and resentment.

S1E16 Stirring the oatmeal kind of love

S1E16 Stirring the oatmeal kind of love

Most of us dream of a marriage that lasts for decades, rather than the few fickle months that we see in Hollywood tabloids. When we look at the marriage of Adam and Eve, it can be seen as nothing short of a love story.

How can that be when they did not date?

In this episode I discuss the "cult of western romance" and achieving the "stirring the oatmeal" kind of love, and how the mundane, day-to-day living life together is in reality quite holy.

The worth of women and the sacredness of their grief

The worth of women and the sacredness of their grief

During Christ's mortal ministry, he showed us how he supported women and was exactly as they needed him to be, both physically and emotionally. He didn't immediately try to "fix things", especially during times of deep sorrow. He chose to listen, to show support in the way that each of them needed.

Jesus as an archetype for the Mother in Heaven

Many faithful women desire to know more about their Mother in Heaven, to have a female role model and know of Her character as becoming like her is a righteous goal. However, as we wait for additional knowledge to be revealed, we have a sure foundation in the gift of Jesus Christ. Listen as I discuss the ways Jesus is an archetype for our Mother.

Mary and the Tree of Life

Mary and the Tree of Life

One of the most beautiful symbols that the heavenly messenger sheds light on for the Tree of Life dream in 1 Nephi 11 is the vision of Mary, the earthly mother of Jesus.

In fact, it is the very first vision symbol that the messenger brings to the attention of Nephi. Why is that? And why do we regularly give it a brief, cursory glance in our gospel discussions?

In this podcast episode we take a broader look at the Tree of Life and what it has represented in both the Bible, ancient religions, and the Book of Mormon.
