    Female archetypes in the scriptures

    Female archetypes in the scriptures

We know that there are more males represented in the scriptures than females, but this works in our favor. Especially in the Book of Mormon, readers are to take notice and pay especial attention when a female is mentioned and the narrative around those women. Space was limited by Mormon, so his choices that made it into the compilation and editing are so important that LDS scholars have since recognized them as type-scenes.

Listen as we discuss Abish and her experience as a type-scene and archetype.

    The Patriarchal Order

    The Patriarchal Order

People often get confused between patriarchal order (the marriage of a man and woman) and patriarchal theocracy (where the men are solely in charge based on a religious government). In this episode we discuss the difference between a church heiarchy and a family government, and how--with modern revelation--patriarchal order simply means that with the New and Everlasting Covenant a husband and wife both preside over the family.

    The Issue of Culture

    The Issue of Culture

We are all molded by the culture we were raised in: religious, national, familial, our gender, etc. But while many of our beliefs are shaped by our culture, they don't need to be dictated by it. The narrative, and understanding, of Adam and Eve has been tainted by cultural biases, skewing the original template of the male/female relationship as God intended. With a correct view of the Fall we can change our own culture and how we treat one another, especially the opposite sex. Join Ramona Siddoway as she discusses the dangers, and power, of culture as we start to dismantle incorrect ideas of Mother Eve.
