    Lest We Forget: Holy Week

    Lest We Forget: Holy Week

Hey there world, welcome back to the Full & Complete podcast! This week is Holy Week, the week leading up to the betrayal, death, and resurrection of Jesus. However with everything going on in our world life this week has felt less holy and special and more chaotic and out of control. So grab your coffee, pull up a seat, and let's talk about centering our focus on what really matters this week.

Health, Wealth, and Excuse Me, What!?

Health, Wealth, and Excuse Me, What!?

“If anyone teaches false doctrine and does not agree with the sound teaching of our Lord Jesus Christ and with the teaching that promotes godliness, he is conceited and understands nothing, but has an unhealthy interest in disputes and arguments over words. From these come envy, quarreling, slander, evil suspicions, and constant disagreement among people whose minds are depraved and deprived of the truth, who imagine that godliness is a way to material gain. But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out. If we have food and clothing, we will be content with these. But those who want to be rich fall into temptation, a trap, and many foolish and harmful desires, which plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, and by craving it, some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.”
    1 Timothy 6:3-10 CSB

“As he was setting out on a journey, a man ran up, knelt down before him, and asked him, “Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” “Why do you call me good?” Jesus asked him. “No one is good except God alone. You know the commandments: Do not murder; do not commit adultery; do not steal; do not bear false witness; do not defraud; honor your father and mother.” He said to him, “Teacher, I have kept all these from my youth.” Looking at him, Jesus loved him and said to him, “You lack one thing: Go, sell all you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” But he was dismayed by this demand, and he went away grieving, because he had many possessions. Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, “How hard it is for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God!” The disciples were astonished at his words. Again Jesus said to them, “Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.” They were even more astonished, saying to one another, “Then who can be saved?” Looking at them, Jesus said, “With man it is impossible, but not with God, because all things are possible with God.””
    Mark 10:17-27 CSB

“Now from Miletus, he sent to Ephesus and summoned the elders of the church. When they came to him, he said to them, “You know, from the first day I set foot in Asia, how I was with you the whole time, serving the Lord with all humility, with tears, and during the trials that came to me through the plots of the Jews. You know that I did not hesitate to proclaim anything to you that was profitable and to teach you publicly and from house to house. I testified to both Jews and Greeks about repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus. “And now I am on my way to Jerusalem, compelled by the Spirit, not knowing what I will encounter there, except that in every town the Holy Spirit warns me that chains and afflictions are waiting for me. But I consider my life of no value to myself; my purpose is to finish my course and the ministry I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of God’s grace.”
    Acts 20:17-24 CSB

“Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead and descended from David, according to my gospel, for which I suffer to the point of being bound like a criminal. But the word of God is not bound. This is why I endure all things for the elect: so that they also may obtain salvation, which is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory. This saying is trustworthy: For if we died with him, we will also live with him; if we endure, we will also reign with him; if we deny him, he will also deny us; if we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot deny himself.”
    2 Timothy 2:8-13 CSB

Let's Talk Spiritual Abuse: Part Two

Let's Talk Spiritual Abuse: Part Two

Hey there world! Welcome to episode 9 where we finish up our conversation  on spiritual abuse by talking about healing and the difference between church hurt and spiritual abuse. If you related to our previous discussion on spiritual abuse, you're gonna want to listen to the entirety of this episode. So sit down, grab your favorite cup of coffee, and let's get into it.

    Let's Talk Spiritual Abuse

    Let's Talk Spiritual Abuse

    Hey there world!

We're back this week with a more serious topic: spiritual abuse. This term has made it's way into discussions at the intersection of faith and mental health for over the past few years and rightfully so! It's an injustice that goes hidden behind "order", titles, and misused scriptures. Although these conversations have been more widespread, the stories of spiritual abuse survivors are heard few and far between. On this episode, you'll be hearing a survivor's testimony from our host as she answers your questions concerning the topic.

If you find yourself in an abusive relationship of any sorts and need help, please contact the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1 800-799-SAFE (7233) or visit their website. If you are in immediate danger, please contact your local authorities.

    The Grace Equation

    The Grace Equation

What's up world! We are back this week with a fresh and unique look on legalism versus grace. Yes, there's an actual equation and yes, math throws Alexis off for just a few seconds but all is well! So grab your scratch paper, your pencil with the good eraser, and some space to think. Let's dive into this thing together.

Seek Ye First: Even When It's Foolish.

Seek Ye First: Even When It's Foolish.

Following our God-given purpose maybe isn't the easiest thing to do. It may not even be the most rational thing to do. You may even feel down right foolish. But it's better to abandon everything and look like a fool following Christ. Right?

Today we talk about all the feelings surrounding going after our purpose in this trailer of Full & Complete: Season One. Let's get at it.
