Meet Tim—Chef-Owner of APGD’s next great restaurant, Coro; coming soon to the former B3 Cafe space. Tim started his culinary journey at Luma on Park, made pasta to sell at the Audubon Park Market, and worked with Chef Tony Adams on the Big Wheel Provisions food truck. After several years at Luma, Prato, and Luke’s; Tim’s return to Audubon Park is much-anticipated and long-awaited!
Meet Jes—beloved Chef who’s bringing a whole new menu to Redlight Redlight starting this month. As former Chef-in-Residence at East End Market, Jes’ culinary contributions to the Central Florida food scene have been monumental; garnering multiple awards, local press recognition, and many loyal followers. Meet Heather—gifted tattoo artist and shop owner of the beloved Lucky Horse Tattoo in Audubon Park. Originally from Naples, FL; Heather found her community in a Cape Coral tattoo shop almost two decades ago before having her life uprooted last year by Hurricane Ian. Despite the hardships of the climate here (political and otherwise), Heather has so much love for all things Florida.
Meet Dawson and Vern -- two Fleet Farming Managers who help further the mission of generating the best fruits and veggies possible from the yards of the Audubon Park Garden District, while also spreading knowledge about growing nutrient-dense foods and healthy eating. Headquartered in the Audubon Park Covenant Church, Fleet Farming does weekly "swarm rides" with staff and volunteers on bikes to maintain their sustainable farming plots year-round.
Meet Andrew, Florida Shroom King (a.k.a. King Koopa) at the Audubon Park Community Market. We discuss the prehistoric origin and evolution; farming and extraction methods; health benefits; and new uses for mushrooms as a fuel source, to create building blocks for construction projects, potential supercomputing, eco-friendly packaging, and in soil restoration.
