Episode #20 - Keith Foskett (Fozzie) - "How can we rebel against the status quo?"

In this episode, Courtney gets unfiltered with Keith "Fozzie" Foskett, author and worldwide hiker. They discuss long trails all over the world and particularly in the UK, living a wanderlust lifestyle, and they ask the question: "How can we rebel against the status quo?"

Someone once described Keith Foskett as an anomaly (it was apparently a compliment). He has hiked thousands of miles and holds a deep respect for the outdoor spaces of this world. Well known in hiking circles, he has written several books and contributes to various outdoor publications.

He’s partial to a glass of Rioja and nurtures a weird interest in down sleeping bags and wool underwear. Encouraging people to chase adventures and live their dreams, he was born and still lives in southeast England.

Episode #15 - Anna Huthmaker (Mud Butt) - "Does It Take a Village to Hike a Trail?"

In this episode, Courtney has a conversation with Anna "Mud Butt" Huthmaker about the hiking community that she created, Trail Dames. They explore the concept of how we can, and do, support each other on the trail so that we can experience the growth that exploring the outdoors has to offer. Anna and Courtney ask the question: "Does it take a village to hike a trail?"

In 2003, Anna Huthmaker hiked 700 miles on the Appalachian Trail and realized that nobody on the trail looked like her. She returned home and formed the Trail Dames. She wanted a group for “women of a curvy nature.”

ALL women are now welcome in the Trail Dames and Anna’s podcast reflects the supportive nature of women who hike. If you’d like to know more about the Trail Dames organization, click on the link below, but NOT before you listen to Anna!!

The Trail Dames mission is to welcome, empower, and educate women of all shapes, sizes, and experience and fitness levels to responsibly explore nature. TD accomplishes this by offering safe and supportive activities that promote personal growth, friendship, self-confidence, self-reliance, and a love of the outdoors. Episode #14 - Andrew Forestell (Reptar)" - "How is being miserable fun?"

In this episode, Courtney chats with Andrew Forestell, aka Reptar. Andrew shares some of his craziest adventures and together they answer the question: How is being miserable fun?!

Andrew "Reptar" Forestell is an entrepreneur, photographer, and explorer on a journey to pursue sheer adventure and keep nature clean. After completing a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail (AT) in 2015, Reptar realized he can do more than just share his journey; he can inspire a movement. Reptar self-released The AT Experience, which soared through community theaters and inspired many to take chances and live their lives to the fullest.

Subsequently, Reptar set out to hike the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) in 2017 and joined forces with the Granite Gear Groundskeepers to help clean up trash on long trails across the United States. After hiking more than four-thousand miles, Reptar stays determined to keep his head high and his eyes forward.

In 2020, he was featured on Discovery Channel's TV show "Naked and Afraid", and since then his heart and mind are the true lens of his camera. Reptar is currently immersed in creating a second film, The PCT Experience, as well as creating a survival game called Far North.

Episode #11 - Gary Sizer (Green Giant) "How do you go from hobby to obsession?"

In this episode, Courtney talks with Gary "Green Giant" Sizer, author and Appalachian Trail thru hiker (2014). Gary turned his lifelong love of story-telling into a best-selling book, Where's the Next Shelter? They explore how the trail changes you physically and mentally, what life looks like after a long hike and how hiking can grow from a hobby to an obsession.

Gary Sizer was born in New Castle, Pa. Years of military service and software consulting fed his passion for travel, which he chronicles in his latest book, Home is Forward. After walking the Appalachian Trail in 2014, his before and after pictures went viral, and since then millions of people have seen him in his underpants. Now Gary hikes and lives in the hills near Asheville, N.C., where he occasionally records stories for NPR's The Moth.
