    Michael Dubin "Never Fade Away"

    Michael Dubin "Never Fade Away"
We had a great conversation with our friend Michael Dubin. Although Michael is mostly associated with his photography in some circles, in many other  circles we talk about the many other projects and music-oriented stuff he is known-for. We talk about how he started and ran Fadeaway Records in 1999 (with the help of Neil),which released the first Movielife and which was active for 4 years. After a 10 year break, the label was relaunched as a non-profit with the "Friends" Comp. A 3xLP comp featuring 37 unreleased songs with 100% of the proceeds being donated to cancer research (http://www.fadeawayrecords.com/indexFRNDS.html).

Dubin discusses his Radio show on K-Rock (one of the biggest rock radio station in the country) for 6 years 2004 - 2010 which was  recorded in his house.

Micahel also discusses the traveling music photo show featuring the work of 5 photographers from the 90's through the early 2000's called " Sti;; Screaming"  Which featured galleries in Philly, Boston, DC, Venice Beach, Oakland, NYC and Montclair, NJ.

Dubin talks about some of the bands hes managed and (and helped in an unofficial manner)  and also the band he is currently managed now, a band from Brooklyn called Common Sage.

Paul Bearer "Not My Monkeys, Not My Circus"

Paul Bearer "Not My Monkeys, Not My Circus"

Since the day I started this podcast, Paul Bearer was and remained on my list of top 5 people that I had wanted to interview for more than one reason.

I'm sure that its clear to almost anyone who has seen him play on any stage anywhere during his over 35 year career in music that he is one of the most unique front-men the hardcore/punk scene has ever had. Its an enduring legacy that persists because Paul is known as much for the great material he's been making for all those years on records as much as his for his classic rants, wit and epic storytelling in between the songs.

So, as satisfying and almost familiar as it was to hear Paul speak in a way that reflected the lyrics and stage persona that many of us have come to know and expect over the years, it was intriguing and gratifying to hear him speak in a deep, caring and profound way. He showed a side I had never really seen before and spoke of things I had never heard in previous interviews.

Don Fury "Just For The Record"

Don Fury called in from his current studio in Troy, New York to discuss his incredible musical history and his current projects.

Don Fury is most known for his recordings and production within the NYHC and Punk scene. He's been instrumental in working with bands as varied as Agnostic Front and Quicksand to GG Allin and Gorilla Biscuits in those musical genres.

But, the truth is that for more than 30 years Fury has worked with hundreds of bands doing countless records in a wide variety of genres across 4 different studios that he's always independently owned and operated.

Besides his current workload of working with bands all over the world, he's recently been self producing and publishing a documentary series on the history of his studio. The series prompted us to get him on the phone and ask him some questions about some of the highlights of his career.

Josh 'Whutsiznaim' Lefkowitz "The Journey Is The Reward"

We recently came across a podcast series by Josh Lefkowitz, aka "Whutsiznaim" called WHY YOU'LL NEVER BE A RAPPER.

To call this feat of audio just a "podcast" or an "audiobook" doesn't quite effectively explain what you'll hear in his series.  Josh calls it a "Mixtape Memoir" and it more aptly describes his exciting and one-of-a-kind narration and storytelling.

We invited him to sit down and give us some insight into how and why he put it all together and where his life is at today.
