But, forget what you think you know about Eddie or even the music scene that has surrounded him and hes contributed to for all these years. This was a conversation where Eddie made it clear that nothing was off-limits and he was here to share his story, answer questions, reminisce about the old days and bring us up to speed on all his new projects. Eddie was here to remind us of where this street music known as NYHC originally came from, what it was about and what its meant to him his whole life. Shawna Potter "War On Women"

    Shawna Potter "War On Women"
War On Women is a co-ed, feminist hardcore punk band based out of Baltimore, MD. Their lead vocalist is Shawna Potter and she is of course, so much more than just your average singer. Beyond handling vocals for the band she is also the founder of Hollaback! Baltimore, co-founder of & trainer for Safer Space Program, writer, activist, public speaker, amp repair technician, and ordained clergy. Shawna took the time to have a great conversation about as many topics as we could fit into this episode. Besides being talented and hard-working, Shawna found a way to create a safe space in this conversation to exchange some ideas of topics that we haven't generally discussed on the podcast with previous guests. Shawna was as open and honest about her goals and achievements as she was about the vulnerability and challenges she faces in her current position and endeavors. There was a refreshing honesty and attention to nuance in this conversation that doesn't always happen in today's social media world. We thank Shawna for her openness and the generosity of her time. Dave Case "In The Pocket"

    Dave Case "In The Pocket"
Dave Case sat down with us for an in-depth conversation about the bands he’s currently in and his overall approach to playing music in general. About 8 years ago, Dave got a call from the legendary guitarist and vocalist, Page Hamilton. After lengthy auditions, he was asked to play in one of his all-time favorite bands, HELMET. His approach to being in that band from then until now mirrors the way he has always approached almost all aspects of his life. He takes all roles in his busy life seriously, gives it his all and has an admirable philosophy in the way he chooses to be a team player with his band-mates, co-workers, friendships and relationships. Dave starts off this interview with talking about how he got in to Helmet and the overall history of being in that band. He discusses how the band works and his relationship with a man he clearly respects and admires, Page Hamilton. Dave gets us up to date with his other projects he’s working on including KILLER HILL and AFTERBIRTH. He talks about the similarities and differences between all the bands, his position in those bands and how he juggles that, his work life and his marriage. As a musician, Dave is talented enough to stand on his own and do what he wants to do. As a band member, he’s there to create music WITH you and wants to support whatever’s going on in the song. He’s the consummate bass player and he enjoys maximizing playing in that pocket his band members have created for him. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dave Case’s Current bands HELMET https://www.helmetmusic.com/ KILLER HILL https://killerhill1.bandcamp.com/ AFTER BIRTH https://afterbirthnydeathmetal.bandcamp.com/ Dave sometimes plays with the guys in Fawnn: Please check them out here-->https://soundcloud.com/fawwn Some of Dave Case’s previous bands (if anyone has better links, let us know and we’ll update them) THE JET BLACK HEART ATTACK https://www.facebook.com/thejbha/ EARTHLING MASSIVE https://www.last.fm/music/Earthling+Massive/+tracks EXPLODER ONE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-Gyg7W1C7Y Dave also mentioned these important people: You can check out Joe Cincotta and FULL FORCE STUDIO at http://fullforcestudio.com/ and Keith Moore, an excellent producer who has recorded and produced a lot of Dave's and our musical projects. - Contact Keith at https://www.instagram.com/iamkeithmoore/ To Contact DAVE CASE directly..., Good Luck with that....

Danny Diablo "The King Of Queens"

Danny Diablo "The King Of Queens"
Danny Diablo a.k.a Lord Ezec and his girlfriend Alexandra Rose, traveled from N.J. To Brentwood L.I. where we sat in a friends home to have an extensive interview. Keith Franco ( Elmo) joins us in the interview and was kind enough to host us for this episode in his dining room. Danny Diablo may be living in N.J. for the moment, but don't get it twisted, hes still The King Of Queens. He talked openly and honestly about all of the ups and downs of his career and where he's headed in this modern musical climate that's very different then when he started more than 20 years ago in the NYHC scene. Highlights of our Discussion include: -Signing CONCRETE DREAMS, to his new label E-TRAIN RECORDS. -State of ILL-ROC records -The Crackson Heights project -His Origins in the NYHC scene -His Origins in Graffiti and DMS -Vocal Influences -"The movies that made LORD EZEC" -State of all his bands, Crown of Thornz, Skarhead and The Wilding Incident -being offered to fight Jose Canseco -Almost fighting rapper STITCHES fo charity -The story behind signing with Travis Barker. -The story behind befriending RANCID in N.Y. C. -Recording with TIM ARMSTRONG -Difference between living in NY and California -The "New York Curse" -Being Roommates with PETER GREENE -Never before heard stories about touring with MOTORHEAD -Never before heard stories of FRIENDS and FOES in the NYHC scene. Near the end of the episode, we test Danny's knowledge of Queens-born celebrities, with a rousing game of "Queens or NOT", written by Keith Franco. "I'm the last of a dying breed, a viking" explains Danny near the end of this interview. And although we agree, it becomes clear throughout this interview that there's really no singular word that describes our guest. He's more than a viking. He's a graffiti artist, an emcee, a lyricist, a punk rocker, a metalhead, a b-boy, a storyteller, a loyal friend, a lover AND a fighter. But, with all that being said, he'll be the first to tell you that hes just a "hardcore kid at heart". Tank Sinatra "Think Tank"

    Tank Sinatra "Think Tank"
With his more than 1.3 million followers on Instagram alone, Tank Sinatra is a meme-making machine. But, as you’ll come to find out through this interview, he’s certainly more than just a meme-maker. He’s George Resch. George is a dad, an author, a comedian, a writer, an influencer and “a hardcore kid from Long Island.” George opens up to us about his life and all of the reasons why he’s always walked towards and tried out the things he’s feared the most. From singing in a local hardcore band to competitive body building George has done more than most and attempted things that seem to be almost polar opposite from each other. He tells us of a varied, interesting and often frightening journey that always seem to include attempts at interests that are seemingly out-of-step with one another. He talks about everything from trying out for a show on the Oprah Winfrey Network to his first hardcore show seeing V.O.D. Its all of these experiences and more that leads to the road to writing “Happy Is the New Rich”. “Happy is the New Rich” is the title of his new book and a way of life for George and he explains it all to us. And then finally George brings us up to date on what he’s doing with Tank Sinatra. George gives us the skinny on “Tanks Good News”, his recent pairing with ‘Brandfire’, his new app MOMUS, the new documentary MEME GODS and his first foray into hosting a TV show. He gives us some gems and insight into marketing and media companies that he’s learned along the way, and we even get to find out what his screen looks like when he opens up his Instagram app with more than a million followers. Best of all, he gives us all his wisdom, insight and storytelling with a sense of humor, self-depreciation and a non-politically correct approach that we love here at IF I RULED THE WORLD PODCAST. https://www.instagram.com/tank.sinatra/ https://www.instagram.com/tanksgoodnews/ www.Tanksinatra.com NEW APP https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/momus-meme-studio/id1219799039?mt=8

Tommy Corrigan "Life of a Spectator"

Tommy Corrigan "Life of a Spectator"
The Long Island music scene is best known through some of the biggest bands that came out of the area such as Taking Back Sunday, Glassjaw and Brand new. But, it would be tough to find a band that came out of that era in the late 90's that wouldn't cite Silent Majority as an influence and speak on the proficiency ot their lead singer, lyricist and consummate front man, Thomas Corrigan. Tommy has been cited more than a few times in previous podcasts and we were excited that he agreed to give us some time to talk about everything in his musical life from the first moment he heard a punk band through to his very emotional last show of his career. Being that Tom has an impeccable memory and a knack for storytelling, he gave us more than just a strict timeline of his life.
