“Talk to yourself like you would to someone you love” – Brene Brown

    Introduction

Today’s topic – is about positive self-talk and the power it can have over the life you experience.

Most of us, along the way, have had a family member or school mate say something hurtful that may play in our minds. Some of us, who have experienced abusive environments or toxic relationships or dysfunctional families have had to endure exposure to years of negative and damaging messages.

Over time, we are at risk of repeating those messages long after the original

author no longer has the same access to us.

This episode is an opportunity to hit the re-fresh button on your internal messages

And start replacing old damaging messages with new encouraging, supportive,

    And uplifting messages.

I have spoken a lot about positive affirmations, and gratitude on other Jessie’s World episodes. But today we are going to dive deep into the types of conversations we have with ourselves and how those conversations manaifest in the world – shaping our life much more than we are aware of.

“The inner speech, your thoughts, can cause you to be rich or poor, loved or unloved, happy or unhappy, attractive or unattractive, powerful or weak” – Ralph Charell

“The key to growth is to learn to make promises, and then – to keep them!” Stephen Convoy

    Topic Introduction

Today’s topic is about the promises we make, and do not make, to ourselves.

    Why promises are important.

Why we do not make them.

And if we do make them – why we do not keep them, and what impact that has on us.

Then we are going to work to develop the muscle of making, and keeping, promises to ourselves in our personal and professional lives. As we do this more and more we will develop excellent success habits and even improve our ability to confidently make commitments to others and fulfill those commitments, deepening our relationships and improving our overall quality of life.

Are you ready for another epic transformative process – let’s get into it!

(Possible Tessy Time – ON TOPIC)

    But First

That’s right folks, this is one of those coveted episodes where we will be having Tessy Time … you’re nah ready fi dis yet famz.

    Okay – today’s Tessy Topic – misinformation!!!

    I said it.

Yes long before we had the term ‘fake news’ floating around, we had old adages, self-defeating quotes, limiting beliefs, and general mind poison – AND NO ONE CALLED IT OUT.

Well famz, today I am calling it out.

This saying “a promise is a comfort to a fool” is often mistaken as do not trust anyone or their promises ever and that is just too sinical an outlook for me to accept. While humans by nature are flawed, and therefore will not, even if entirely good intentioned, be able to fulfill every promise they ever make, the view that then no one should ever make or accept a promise lowers our bar and expectations as humans of other humans, and sometimes of ourselves, to an unacceptably low level.

Growing up I would hear adults around me say, in response to a request, “I will try, but I am not promising anything.” By nature of the fact that we as humans are flawed, so a reasonable flexibility for human error is assumed with every healthy promise giver and receiver, then there is no need for skeptical half hearted agreements. By the very nature of saying I am not promising you are saying you may not try so then why even start the sentence with ‘I will try’ because essentially you may not… and that is why you won’t promise.

No one likes breaking promises, but to live in a society where no one trusts their own word enough to promise and commit to others, means that we are also living in a world where people are struggling to promise, and commit to themselves…and THAT is very scary.

We need to TRY for ourselves, and quiet frankly, for those we love, and for the things that we are passionate about and care about in our lives.

A life void of trying is a life void of a passion – the same fiery pursuit of passion that lead to inventions we enjoy, social and civil changes that improved humanity, and every great milestone ever achieve in human history …and some not so great ones too.

Without that burning desire to win, to deliver, to make change, to experience life, to love and be loved, give and be given to, to be the change, to leave a legacy, to rise, to win… without that, we have a bland life of lack luster maybes and that is just NOT good enough.

So – we are re-introducing the PROMISE here and now.

“PROMISE – a declaration, or assurance, that one will do a particular thing, or that a particular thing will happen.”

And we are going to start with perfecting the process of making, and keeping, promises to OURSELVES!

    Personal Development Take

According to a Harvard University stress management study, top leaders who experience success others want to emulate prioritize keeping promises to themselves, and others.

Contrary to the best selling book Leaders Eat Last which suggests that good leaders will put aside their own needs and go without to sacrifice the building of entities and opportunities that help and feed others – this Harvard Study highlighted that in fact the same people who choose to eat last also end up burning out and not being able to enjoy their high ranking success when achieved.

So, promises are not the surface things we think of – willy nilly making here and there in life in business to ourselves to others if the whim arise; but in fact, promises should be thought of as strategic decisions in the over-arching architecture of crafting a well balanced and fulfilling life.

And, in fact, while many of us are empaths and people pleasers, the truth is it al begins with the promises we make to ourselves, and our commitment to keeping those promises.

Why we don’t make promises to ourselves.

As mentioned earlier, we often do not make the promises to ourselves that will hold us accountable to becoming our best-selves, but why?

    Some reasons include:

    ·       You are still putting others before yourself – even after all the work we have been doing in Jessie’s World to build your confidence and help you love you better, you are still showing up last in your life for you, and that is not okay. We need to move you to the top of your own to-do list so you can connect with you, listen to you, understand you, show empathy to yourself, and set yourself on a path of true, deep, meaningful winning

    ·       You are immersed in work – if you are so ‘swamped’ at work that you can not come up for air and take time to attend to your own personal needs and self-care then you are either suffering from poor habits, bad planning, people pleasing at work, or you are hiding from the concerns you know you need to address with yourself. In any event – this will lead to burnout at some point, and will likely have some serious consequences physically, emotionally, socially, mentally and more.

    ·       Inertia – your body’s desire to keep everything the same. So in fact, if the unbalance in your life is uncomfortable, you may have decided it is still more comfortable than change. Your cells may be doing everything to convince you change is not worth it, good thing I am here to convince you otherwise – CHANGE IS WORT...

Before we get into our main topic, we of course have Tessy Time where my sassy alter ego takes over the podcast to pose thought provoking questions, raise social issues, and just plain rant – enjoy.

I have been reflecting on Black History Month and trauma.

As a parent, and as a BiRacial female I recently noticed the impact media reports have on my personal mental health. I imagine it is a modern version of publicly wiping a run away slave (or worse) to drive home the point that we better stay in line.

I know that these reports make me uncomfortable. They introduce a subconscious fear that impacts my day to day comfort, and when things are really bad they cause depression, anxiety, and isolation. I feel like no one is discussing or addressing the mental impact of pervasive systemic and socio economic issues that affect many North American Black people, and the impact of violence, no matter who is inflicting the violence, on our psyches.

I don’t know what the solution is, but I do believe that an open discussion, and a search for resources and answers, support and love, understanding and change is needed.

I also realize that you do not have to be Black to be impacted this, you could be the white parent of a Black child like my mother is, or you could be a human of any race and background that is empathetic, loving, and understands hurt and wants it to stop.

My personal mission is to create sources of love and light in the world and share that authentic energy with others. I do not come from a divisive perspective, how could I, after all I am both White and Black. I come from a perspective of empathy having felt the trauma response myself… I come from a loving internal longing for true change, and for support that facilitates healing on a deeper level that I personally have seen or experienced. If you have felt the same way DM me @JessicaVibez on Instagram and let’s start discussing solutions for a safer, happier, mentally healthier tomorrow – one love.

    --

Main Topic – Re-Establishing Boundaries and Self Care

Most people think of boundaries as a set it and forget it action they need at the beginning of their self-care journey. However, if you are anything like me, boundaries need constant re-evaluation, and re-setting.

Over time, people, places, and things will try and encroach on your boundaries. Trimming here, and slicing there, until you are no longer the focal point of your world. This is goal achievement suicide.

A compromise here and a re-schedule there can eventually turn into a void land of obscure dreams floating around with the tumble weeds of regret.

So, how to de ensure we keep our self-care journey on track, and ensure maximum wellness in all areas of our lives?

Worry not, help is on it’s way… SELF-HELP!

Yep, you allowed the displacement of your boundaries, and you are going to have to do the work to put them back together again…but I am happy to guide you.

Step 1 – KPIs, you know when people say “you are the CEO of your life…” THIS is what they are speaking about. In a company you work for, you would be called in periodically (weekly, monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or even annually) to review your goals and corresponding KPIs (key performance indicators) and see how well you are doing at achieving your goals (and indicators) by the dates projected.

So, is the same for your life. I recommend doing weekly or monthly check-ins with yourself (depending on how long it takes to make traction in your specific goal areas). For example, let’s say you have the personal goal of loosing 5 pounds a month, that is a very easy KPI to measure and track, so month 1 you check and you only lost 3 pounds, you have enough time to reflect on what you have been doing and see where you can improve to get on track for the following month. On the other hand, if you wait for six months and find out you have gained 10 pounds well, you have lost half the year and are already behind in the game. Now you have to figure out WHY you gained instead of lost and instead of reflecting on a month or a week, you have a whole 6 months of potential issues to try and figure out – not an idea way to approach achieving success and living with excellence.

So if you have not already done so, jot down your top 3 goals this year for self-care, and for professional development. For example I want to launch my first online course, produce an additional podcast weekly, and hit the treadmill an hour a day.

Now next week if I didn’t hit the treadmill and hour every day I need to evaluate why. If my course isn’t published I need to identify what has stood in my way.

Which brings us to the next step.

    2. Identify Roadblocks – even if you are hitting all your KPIs, this only means you can do better still. So, what is standing in the way of your doing even better?

For me, I know that I give a lot of time away to others. As an empath and a generally helpful person I can spend a lot of time being a good Samaritan and as nice as that is, it does not pay the bills.

I have also been known to spend a little too much time watching Love Island ( #TeamTimmy Timmy Swerve) and Real Housewives of Potomac (Hi Gizelle Bryant, Hi Robin Dixon, Love you Ashley Darby, What Up Karen Huger, Whaaa Gwan Moniqe Samuels xoxo) and while those shows are enjoyable… they definitely do NOT help me achieve the level of success I am working to create in my life sooo, what to do to stay on track?

    Identify Roadblocks, then…limit them.

    3. Limit Roadblocks to Success

Notice I said LIMIT your road blocks, whether that means cutting them out completely or just cutting them down is up to you, but when it comes to the art of time management and success, rule 1 is carve out time for YOU and YOUR GOALS at all costs.

An easy thing to cut out is too much Netflix and Chillin and more Taking Courses, Listening to Uplifting Podcasts like Jessies World, and actually working on YO...

    Jessie’s World Podcast – Episode 24

Goodbye Hello – The Art of Letting Go

“Everything I've ever let go of has claw marks on it. (on the wall of a bedroom at a recovery house for alcoholics and drug addicts)” ― David Foster Wallace,

Happy New Year – and welcome to Jessie’s World podcast where we dig deep, keep it real, and heal so that we can enjoy unhindered upwardly mobile lives together. It’s 2023 and I am into my second year of podcasting, with episode 24 I bring new energy.

I am no longer dipping my toe into healing – I am diving in, and I invite you to come along.

I am Jessica Lambert or as known on Instagram, @JessicaVibez and I am your host.

I have deliberately released this episode later into the January as I know everyone was buzzing from the holidays, and started the new year with resolutions in a bungle, and how lovely.

However, now the dust from the holidays has settled and reality has once again come knocking on our doors, let’s have a difficult but honest chat about your resolutions for change this year…and what you REALLY will need to do go achieve SUCCESS.

Oh yes honey, we diving in to 2023 with a passion, they don’t call me The Self Success Strategist for nothing, my super power is helping Kings and Queens everywhere straighten their crowns and you are no exception…are you ready to work?

First, you know we are going to centre ourselves. When working on internal stuff, we must take a moment to connect from within.

A blessed and reliable way to achieve this internal connection is breath work and gratitude, and I never ever get tired of giving thanks – yesssss I give God thanks and praise every day and no matter how many time I say thank you I can always find another reason to thank and praise God again.

And Breathe…well you already know, if we have breathe we have life and so that is the very first thing we can give thanks for, deep breath in, deep breath out, and yes, let’s give thanks.

Going into a fresh new minute, hour, day, month, year WHAT are you thankful for.

    Gratitude energy is so powerful.

I have ended many of my conversations with Love and Light this year, because that is what I want to spread and gift the world always.

What type of energy are you wanting to spread?

Let’s do a fun challenge today during our breathing exercise.

As you continue to breathe in, hold for four, out, hold for four.

I want you to list 10 things you are grateful for.

10 things that give you joy in this moment, that gave you joy this past year, that you have the opportunity to enjoy coming up.

They can be easy and obvious things that you regularly give thanks for, or more challenging experiences that you have been able to see light within.

    For example

I am super grateful every single day of my life for:

My relationship with God and the tremendous role he has always played in my life. Growing up without a father, and losing my grandfather only six months or so after he rescued me from foster care when I was only four, somehow brought me closer to God. Even before that, God was in Foster care with me and though it was a very difficult time where I was alone and at risk constantly, I felt God’s protection and light in my life. This protection and light follows me to this day, and I know that I am the stone the earthly builder refused but that’s okay, because all I feel from God is his warm and loving embrace.

I am thankful every day that God blessed me with my son. The ability to have such a kind loving intelligent truly unique and remarkable individual as my son and my best friend is more gift than I could ever ask for and I forever feel like I won the child lottery I am so grateful and so very blessed.

I give thanks for my health, I have learned how precious health is and how deliberate you have to be when nurturing your mind body and soul. Take nothing for granted.

I am grateful for fresh air, clean water, and warm safe beautiful home.

I am thankful for my grandfather, though he passed away when I was young, his remarkable impact on my life left a legacy that is ever present in my heart and I always feel connected to him. Be there for the children in your world, it’s everything.

Which brings me to my God Children, nieces, nephews, and little cousins – the young people in my life, also those I take as little brothers and sisters, my fam I am super grateful for these special bonds they make life fuller, happier, and more exciting.

I am thankful for opportunity, we always have the opportunity to improve your day, your life, your career, your mindset – just opportunity alone is amazing.

I am grateful for creativity, how awesome that God gifted us with imagination and the ability to manifest and create inventions, music, works of art, products, and services that the day before were not on earth – what an amazing life he’s given us.

    I am thankful for healing.

And as I hit over 3000 on my Instagram (follow me @JessicaVibez) I am grateful new friends and new relationships with likeminded upwardly mobile enterprising compassionate purposeful people who I click with and who really do add a depth and joy to my life. 2023 I definitely welcome new friends and business relationships.

I don’t know if I said 10…but I think I got close or even went over. Send me a DM on IG tell me the 10 things you are grateful for or comment on the gratitude challenge post I will make after I release this episode I can’t wait to hear you share.

So… now my friends, we have done the feel good things, we have remembered how awesome life is…time to talk about 2023 and DELIBERATELY set our INTENTION on what it will be yessssss let’s work.

So, new year, new goals, new vibes, new SPACE…

    What do I mean?

Yes before we set our intention which is essentially shopping for the finest things we want in our life. We first must CLEAN OUT OUR CLOSET.

Yes, time to make ROOM for all the new awesome things we are about to invite into our life.

But, before we can do that – we need to chat.

This episode is dedicated to my sister Jeanette, she requested this topic specifically, I love you Jeanette, this is for you babe may you have a lovely year filled with real ones, gelato, Karaoke, cucumber and taziki and I hope to hug and laugh with you soon. I love you always my sister from another MR.

“You say goodbye I say hello” the Beetles.

Now, I am not sure the meaning of the song – feel free to write me and let me know.

But I do know that while cleaning out your proverbial closet sounds easy enough, it is something people really really struggle with, and because people struggle with this they actually delay doing it, sometimes never do it, and because their closet is packed full with people places things mindsets that no longer serve them and that are countering what the truly desire in life they end up living in the PAST and never being able to achieve the heights they designer.

YOU MUST SHAKE THE BRICKS OFF YOUR WINGS or you my friends, will NOT fly!!!

    BUT HOW?

    The Breakdown

“Everything I've ever let go of has claw marks on it. (on the wall of a bedroom at a recovery house for alcoholics and drug addicts)...

Jessie’s World Episode 23 - Mayday Mayday Merry Christmas

    Introduction

Merry Christmas and welcome to the 23rd episode of Jessie’s World – where we unite to work on becoming the very best version of ourselves. I am your host Jessica Lambert aka JessicaVibez with a z.

Today we deviate from our regular programing for this very real Christmas special dedicated to healing hearts and soul around the world.

The format is a little different, Follow me and DM me on Instagram @Jessicavibez let me know if this episode spoke to you and if we should do an annual Christmas special.

Let’s begin with some gentle breath work, followed by gratitude healing, and then by a discussion around what they don’t tell you about Christmas, and how you can help heal your Christmas jitters.

    BREATH WORK

GRATITUDE – reflecting on the year, what are you grateful for, who are you grateful for, what was your best moment this holiday season so far, it could be waking up, it could be the meal you ate, it could be a phone call from a loved one, an unexpected card whatever you are grateful for large or small I want you to think of it, say it, focus on it. Focus on the feeling that gratitude gives you. Dwell in the glow of thankfulness, of abundance, of safety, security, happiness. Let your worries go, let your expectations go, let your fears go, and just stay focused on what you are grateful for and the joy it brings you.

DISCUSSION – MAYDAY MAYDAY MERRY CHRISTMAS

“The jingle bells are jingling, the streets are white with snow, the happy crowds are mingling, but ther’s no one that I know – I’m sure that you’ll forgive me, if I don’t enthuse, I guess I’ve got the Christmas blues” Dean Martin  – let’s talk about it!

I released my Christmas Book in honor of my grandma this year titled Awesome Audrey’s Kooky Christmas – it’s a really fun tale about Santa crashing into the hood, and the kids giving him a hard time. As a result Santa bans Christmas for all hoods, but Awesome Audrey saves the day with Christmas Cheer and unconditional love. It is a reflection of the love I felt from my grandmother growing up, the fun and joy in my neighborhood, and the festive vibes that we had long ago. It’s a beautiful thought and I am so honored that my son Illustrator Tredel Lambert designed the cover art which is so beautiful and magical. This is my holiday happy place, and sharing it with others means so much to me. All the photos and videos people send me with the book light up my day, and seeing people on my website platinumrouge.com buying the book and reading the e-book to their children and grandchildren is so special to me. One person even wrote me that Awesome Audrey is the best Grandma and that really warmed my heart because that is exactly how I feel and why I wrote the book.

Like me, many adults enjoy reminiscing about childhood Christmases that brought them joy, but for some, it highlights a loss. For my family, we lost our matriarch when my grandma passed in 2015. I choose to focus on the light and joy of her spirit, and not the fact that in reality Christmas is not the same without her, then again, no day is quiet the same without her.

We are humans, complex with battle wounds and hurt hearts, joy and pain, sunshine and rain.

The truth is that may experience stress, sadness, loneliness, isolation, depression, anxiety, regret and more during the holidays.

This episode is for anyone struggling to get through the season – I invite you to listen as many times as you need, and just know I love you, and you will be okay, you will get through this. If you think this episode will help others please share. Follow Jessicavibez on Instagram to stay abreast all our projects and episodes.

Now here is the conundrum, you can be both festive and happy, anxious and depressed.

So what are the causes of the Christmas blues?

    Let’s take a closer look…

The expectations of others, the general commercialism of the season, the pressure to show love with money and gifts can cause Financial Anxiety and Stress – if you are unable to practically meet the expectations of others or your own desire to shower those you love with gifts, this can become very stressful. I grew up in a winter wonderland, and it was very rare that I received less than 30 gifts at Christmas time as a child – that was a child’s dream, but my grandma was a shroud financial planner, she really did buy gifts on sale all year around. She was intelligent and methodical. Me… not so much. I took on her spirit of giving, but in the last minute, and not always on sale. That can cause financial stress – and a dichotomy of feelings; you love to give, but you don’t love to pay for it lol.

Honestly, a lot of people stress about how to ‘make a good Christmas’ for their loved ones.

With social media ads constantly targeting you to shop it’s even harder because that is where we go to connect with the people we love and then we are bombarded with ads day in and day out.

Breath easy – there are ways to deal with this.

Choose your top 1, 2, or 3 people and shower THEM with gifts only – it’s a lot more affordable then trying to give everything to everyone you meet, and if you come from a large family like I do it’s really hard to try and do something for everyone.

Another great tip is to try and use WHITE ELEPHANT GAME when doing large family get together, this way everyone leaves with a gift and there is no onerous expectations attached to the true blessing of simply spending time together.

I don’t personally like to set a dollar limit, because White Elephant with family or close fam is your way to give a gift your style, and because everyone has different giving capacities and philosophies it really should be left up to the person giving – after all isn’t that the point of a gift, to give from your heart and not a set dollar rate. This leaves it open, it could be home made, store bought, expensive, inexpensive but heart felt, it adds a spiciness, joy, and authenticity to the game, you start to see people’s personalities in what they contribute – it’s cute, it’s great bonding, great fun, and most of all it reduces financial stress for everyone J Try it and hit me up @JessicaVibez on Instagram let me know what you think.

Another great tip when it comes to the little ones in your life is to CREATE MEMORIES with them over just giving gifts. Something I saw a lot of this year is grand parents buying Awesome Audrey’s Kooky Christmas on e-book at platinumrouge.com and then reading with their grandchildren on zoom or facetime or Whatsapp or another video calling method. Sometimes they purchased 2 copies one to their child’s email and one to their own so their grandchildren could follow along. What a fantastic idea and a great way to spend time together over the holidays.

I know growing up going out and actually having fun in the snow was a great bonding opportunity too. Snow forts, snow men, snow angels. Also bring back caroling. Christmas movie night is one I always enjoy with my son. By stripping away these traditional holiday celebratory practices it’s like we are stripping the fiber off of food – it can become all processed and lack it’s intended substance.

The truth is, Christmas is about the birth of God’s son Jesus. It is about love, light and hope. It’s a spirit I tried to capture in my book Awesome Audrey’s Kooky Christmas too. It’s unconditional love. <...

How to Slay 7 Deadly Sins & Heal the World

How to Slay 7 Deadly Sins & Heal the World

Jessie’s World Podcast  - Episode 22 – How to Transform from Sloth to Boss & Heal the World Doing

Welcome to Jessie's World podcast, I am your host Jessica Lambert aka @JessicaVibez

Today’s topic is 5 Easy Steps You Can Take Now to Heal the World and Yourself.

Today in Attitude of Gratitude segment I want to encourage you to build a vision board, and then post it on Instagram and tag me so I can see. Before you can build your vision board physically, you must make the time to really meditate on what it is you want for your future.

So mentally we can build our vision board now.

Why? Because vision boards help you create brain pathways to your success, they help you clearly identify what you want and serve as motivation for you to push for results, they help focus your time and energy, and even celebrate wins when you achieve something on your board.

The first step to building a vision board is seeing your goals in your mind’s eye. Let’s get started.

Close your eyes. Visualize, without limits, what you would like your life to be like. What do you do to earn money? Where do you live? Who are you with? What car do you drive? Do you take vacations? Where? How would your circumstances be different? I want you to see yourself as living your best life, what does that look like to you? Visualize the details, things that you could put on a physical board to represent these deep desires.

As you see this amazing life in your mind’s eye, I want you to also visualize with all your senses how it feels to live in that new home, to drive that car, to operate that business, to achieve that health goal, to take that vacation…or, whatever your goals are. Visualize the feeling of achieving those goals. Let your senses play and dance and dwell in this beautiful reality you are creating for them.

Now take a moment to just breathe and sit in that feeling.

Eyes open, and just take a minute to jot down what it was you seen on your board.

That first step is so important. Now you have started the process, I want you to, at the end of this podcast, start building your board. There is no right way to build a vision board, you can use an app, a website that let’s you build vision board home pages, cut and paste stuff from magazines onto bristal board, print items out from the internet and pin to cork board the sky is the limit, whatever your method it should work for you and it should be posted somewhere you see daily.

Also, your vision board should have a mix of long and shorter term goals for example paying off that car loan may be a shorter term goal, where as buying a mansion on a beach may take a bit longer, all are valid and the benefit of both is that as you achieve your short term wins you are strengthening your believe in and commitment to your long term goals as well.

    Manifestation is yours!!!

    NOW,

On to TODAYS TOPIC – How to Heal the World

It was no coincidence that I began this episode not with Tessy Time, but with the Attitude of Gratitude segment, because I wanted to centre you and focus you on self, while helping you tune into your own higher frequency.

This helps ground you so that you are able to discuss todays topic from a position of strength.

Let’s first discuss the fact that when I say “heal the world” I am acutely aware that the world looks different depending on who you are, what your life experiences have been, and your current vantage point. That said, I do know, that most people have some level of personal healing to do.

Then, if you are an empath like I am, or simply socially aware, or in the possession of a TV or the internet then you know that the WORLD at large has many many ways in which we need healing… including building more love and support for and of our fellow humans.

With that in mind, I don’t know about you but I can sometimes feel overwhelmed looking at some of the larger social issues that impact everyone right now economy, violence, war, painful government policies, housing crisis, healthcare crisis and so many more hurtful realities. It’s like – where do we begin healing, how can we help improve the world when we are only ONE person…

And then – there lies the answer

    We are, only one person.

    One person.

    The power of ONE!

The key to healing the world, begins with healing YOU?

    Don’t believe me, let’s analyze.

Many of the root causes of pain and suffering in the world can be brought back to what are called the 7 deadly sins – and no this won’t be a church service today, but it is a clear and factual way to understand how we can improve from where we are today collectively and with a sense of unity.

    The 7 deadly sins are

Pride – this has been called the sin from which all other sins arise, and is an issue when you are basically feeling yourself so much that you forget that no man is an island and your success is a team effort – remembering to give thanks to God first and to those who helped you along the way is very important. In the absence of that humble kindness Pride gives way to all other sins including the next one …

Greed – greed creates a conflict between personal and social goals, it makes us insatiable and much like Pride, when you are always wanting more there is not a lot of room for gratitude which is very much a healing practice. Greed also puts us at odds with sharing the earth and it’s resources and gives way to inequities that can cause crime, suffering, wars, and death – greed is dangerous.

Wrath – an intense and irrational anger that hijacks your mind and has you acting out of emotion, and usually out of pocket, this can cause crimes of passion, hate, and social unrest. Being slow to anger allows you to think critically and make better decisions, and it allows the world to be a much more pleasant place to be.

Envy – wanting what others have, or wanting that person not to have it. We see it, it can result in death no lie. It’s dangerous to be around people who envy you. Who are not happy for you. Who are praying for your downfall, or trying to turn you into prey so they can take what you have. The antidote is self love, self respect, a knowledge of self and of your own superior gifts so you can stop lusting after someone else’s. You have someone mad because they are not a famous rapper and their associate is, meanwhile God ordained them with the gift of tech and perhaps they would out earn that associate if they leaned into their gift but they don’t know their self, they don’t know their gift, so instead of accessing their abundance they think they have nothing and so they truly manifest nothing and that places them in a position of lack and drives their envy… please, know thy self, invest in thyself, to thyself be true.

Lust – Much like greed, lust will have you wanting stuff you already have. You have money, a roof over your head, food in the fridge, a phat bank account, you good, but need more, want more, and don’t want to even share – you lusting. You have a significant other, you have sex, comfort, companionship but you sliding in DMs n slithering in corners tryna have more of it. You want what others have, you want more of what you have, you want it all – money, power, sex, food you can lust after anything but it can create an obsessive preoccupation in your mind, it can control you, it can bring down your house a...

Jessie’s World Eps 21 – How Self Awareness Can Save Your Life

    INTRO

Thanks so much for tuning into episode 21 of Jessie’s World Podcast where we are dedicated to becoming our best selves together.

If you are upwardly mobile, a go getter, and are committed to improving your self and your life, this is the place for you.

I am Jessica Lambert – aka – Jessica Vibez with a Z and I am your Host.

Today’s we will be discussing all things SELF AWARENESS and how to use this critical skill to improve yourself, your life, and your business.

We will focus on Solution-focused self-reflection and the role of the self in the attainment of goals – as it is most helpful in eliminating rumination and instead helps move an individual toward future-focused behavior.

Rumination is defined as engaging in a repetitive negative thought process that loops continuously in the mind without end or completion – basically, it’s when negative thoughts play over and over in your mind and are hard to stop. This can happen as a result from trauma and stress, and it can be detrimental because it can repeat the body’s negative stress response over and over making you susceptible to disease or chronic illnesses.

Because we are focused on HEALING, Wellness, and becoming our best selves at Jessie’s World – we will focus on SOLUTION-FOCUSED SELF REFLECTION and help point you to a brighter future and a happier healthier wealthier YOU J

But first, as always, it’s TESSY TIME.

TESSY TIME – Black on Black Crime

Today for Tessy Time I have a very serious topic to address.

This week we lost a loved member of the Hip Hop community, and even more important, of our Black community, and of our Young Male community, Takeoff.

Since this tragedy happened a few days ago now, and since Takeoff is a legendary pop icon and one third of the very popular group, Migos, I am sure you are aware of his untimely death and how it has broken hearts around the world.

While I would like to offer his family my heart felt condolences, I want to also acknowledge that this is a loss for us all. It’s also the right time to address the issue to young Black Men continuing to be the target of aggression from within and from outside our own Black community.

I released a poem in 2019 speaking out against what I call the ENDANGERED BLACK MALE. I note in this poem that there is more money, energy, effort, and collaboration to save the BLACK RHINO than there is being spent to save the BLACK MALE. The rate at which our young men are dying we need to call this an emergency. We need to have a NORTH AMERICAN WIDE (that’s Canada and America) COMMITMENT from GOVERNMENT to FUND PROGRAMS and SERVICES coming from all levels of community members in various forms (i.e. business, non profit, community group, small business, solopreneurs, programs, etc.) and priority should be given to THOSE WHO GREW UP IMPACTED BY AND DEALING WITH THESE ISSUES AND MADE IT OUT – so that we can help illuminate the way for young people navigating this world.

We need to form a protective shield around our young Black Kings so that they are safe…even from each other. If you care as much as I do about this DM me on Instagram @JessicaVibez and let me know what you think the solution is? Where do we begin?

As the daughter, sister, mother of Black Men, I for one cannot in good conscious remain inactive. We must ACTIVELY create change!!! My call to action is CONTACT ME / DM ME and let’s start uniting for change. #BlackMenMATTER.

TOPIC – How to Use Self Awareness to Improve Your Life

Having a better understanding of ourselves can lead to a more fulfilling and successful life. So …what is self awareness?

Definition – an awareness of one’s own personality or individuality, or simply put, to know thyself. Self awareness was first termed in 1876. In short, it is the ability to see ourselves clearly and objectively.

In knowing yourself, you connect with your inner gifts, your life’s purpose, and you are honest about where you are in relation to where you want to be. When things bother or trigger you, you stop and look at it, and learn from it, you see yourself in relation to the world as opposed to being ‘of’ the world.

Jessie’s World’s work is to help people become their best self – and SELF AWARENESS is very much a first step towards a journey of success, happiness, healing, and abundance.

Please note if you regularly participate in things that pull you away from self, like avoidance, self-medicating, or suppression – this will delay your success, or if you have managed to achieve success in life, it could threaten it, thus developing self awareness, and stopping things like avoidance, suppression, and self medication is critical for sustained success and wellness.

Special Note – In the Black Community we are not always encouraged to do the deep meaning full work of connecting with ourselves, figuring out who we are, what we love, how we want to relate to the world from a position of a strong sense of self. It’s never too late to embark on that journey, and I invite you to do it with me every week as part of this podcast. While we all need to work on our self-awareness and to strengthen it as a fundamental building block towards self-actualization, we in the Black community in particular have suffered from unique stresses and strain that can cause what is known as chronic stress – which is a root cause for many diseases and ailments including diabetes, blood clots, hear and stroke issues, and which Covid 19 feeds on. Studies show that our community is disproportionately impacted, and so making time for ourselves, healing ourselves, connecting with ourselves, loving ourselves, strengthening our immune systems through reduced stress all of this is critical to our lives.

When you consider the fact that from as early as 18 months old Self-awareness is a state in which the concept of the self reacts to social and environmental cues. Then, In adults, self-awareness is the capacity for deeper self-reflection.

If you were not conditioned at a young age to value yourself, care for yourself, see yourself as an individual within and in relation to a world, and nurture your individual qualities and positive traits – that makes self care, self awareness, and your relationship with community and world more difficult.

The good news is – it’s never to late to start building your self awareness.

BENEFITS of SELF FOCUSED SELF REFLECTION and the ATTAINMENT of FUTURE GOALS

    1.     Increased perspective-taking enables increased empathic responses to the plight of others. This improves relationships and connections with other human beings.

    2.    Self control / improved self regulation – which impacts things like eating habits, repetition of negative habits or behaviors, and even participation in criminal activity or aggression

    3.    Improved creative works – as one deepens their ability to go inward and reflect, they are better able to access their internal gifts and to tap into their creativity to master their artform

    4.    Improved social skills – and the ability to fit into society and succeed within existing social structures

    5.    Improved self esteem – that comes with successfully creating, fitting in, excelling, and a...

    TOPIC

    Affirming Awesome for Personal Growth

    Affirming Awesome for Professional Growth

In order to do this exercise today – because today’s episode is an ACTION episode, you may need a pen and paper, you will definitely need to MEDITATE.

I want you to write – ACCOMPLISHMENTS and this will look at affirming specifically the recent changes you made over the last 20 episodes, what recent changes are you most proud of that you want to affirm?

It takes time to form habits, and for new changes to become a true part of you, affirming your recent successes and developments helps further cement those beautiful wins in your life.

I affirm CONSISTANCY – except for taking time off when I was under the weather, I have shown up regularly for my listeners and I will continue to do so. In doing so, I am learning and have really improved showing up for myself consistency. I am aware of my low energy days, I allow my pace to slow, but I hold myself accountable for still putting self-care first and getting other important work done. I also love the great feeling that loving myself brings. I am so grateful that my work allows me to touch lives and hearts and I want to do more of that.

    BIG BOSS VIBEZ

Affirming your Awesome and your projected wins is not just important in your personal life – you must do this to professionally win too.

A sales person who did not believe in themselves, or their ability to sell the product, would go hungry.

You need to affirm your awesome as it pertains to the specific work you do.

Remember, affirmations are meant to be specific.

When you can tie your affirmations into specific performance metrics you desire for yourself at work, or for your own business, you can create some pretty amazing results.

Author and Motivator Marcus Buckingham said “What you focus on expands. Results follow focus.”

Affirmations help us amplify the right focal points in business and in life, thus helping to stack the deck in our favor when it comes to positive outcomes.

    GODS N GODDESSES

Loving yourself is key. We focus so much on loving everyone else in this world, which is, of course, very important – however it starts within.

Your affirmations are your love letter to you. It’s your short paragraph that says I love you, I want the best for you because I know for a fact YOU ARE THE BEST, and that you are attracting all the best things in this world that are perfectly designed for you.

I am an awesome beacon of light in my own life, in the lives of my loved ones, and in the world. I give from a place that is pure, and I am rewarded with physical health and strength and financial wealth and abundance. I love connecting with people who want to be their best selves, and helping them find success within. My consistent dedication to my brands in self-success, in storytelling, podcasting, and music make me a BOSS in the areas of life I love so much. I have amazing friends in the industry who value my contribution and share opportunities for mutual elevation. I am an inspiration to every young person who started with a struggle and turned it into a triumph. I am a great role model and blessing for my son, my God children, my nieces and nephews, and all the young people I love. I have made God and myself proud, and I am only just beginning. I am Jessica Vibez and I am living my AWESOME.

When you feel ready – write your own triple threat, say it daily, and watch yourself manifest your awesome like never before.

    QUOTE

“The day I started believing in myself, and stopped looking for a co-signer, is the day I started truly nurturing my inner authentic brand.” Jessica Lambert aka Jessica VibeZ

    AFFIRMATION

“I am a work in progress, I am a wonderful manifestation of life lessons and little wins. I am such a blessing and a joy. When I dwell in my own inner awesome, the lens of life looks so bright. I love how believing in me, makes me feel on top of the world.

Gods N Goddesses uses visualization to connect with our lower self and identify what patterns, people and energy live there so we can reduce those influences in our lives. We then visualize our higher self, again examining what patterns, people, energy, food, movement, experiences, and mindsets we enjoy when in our higher self state so that we may engage these elements more often thus improving our overall quality of life.

Quote "Prevention is better than cure - but cure is really great too. The best time to love yourself is right now."

Affirmation "I will work towards a lifestyle of healthy choices that improve my energy, protect my body, sharpen my mind, and help me to become my best authentic self."

Irradiating Hate & Manifesting Authentic Relationships

Irradiating Hate & Manifesting Authentic Relationships

Tessy Time tells people drop the hate, jealousy, and ignorance citing them as time money and energy drainers and blessing blockers. She instead encourages people to love themselves, nurture their authentic gifts and purpose, and attract those who love them for who they are. She wisely cites "you can not know who loves you for simply being you unless you dare to be your authentic self."

Mrs. Write attempts a freestyle song about not caring about what people think about the clothes she wears citing "it's not the clothes that make the human, but the human spirit that brings the swag."

Main Topic - How to build Authentic Relationships and Network with a Purpose really dove deep into the importance of first understanding yourself and your purpose to know your path. It then gave practical ways to find a romantic partner that is suitable for and rocks with your AUTHENTIC SELF. It also gave tips on how to connect with family, FAM, and friends authentically, and pitfalls to sidestep that have nothing to do with you and everything to do with the realities of those not walking along their own best self journey. It then dove into how to network with a purpose that was born out of your authenticity and your purpose and how to build real lasting connections that will encourage you and help you become your best self along the way.

It also reminded people to follow @JessiesWorldXO and tune into the podcast each week to help them maintain their journey to becoming their best self.

Gods N Goddesses starts with breathing exercises and continues onto asking listeners to consider three questions:
    1. What is your purpose in life?
    2. What gifts do you want to give yourself?
    3. What gifts do you want to give the world?

Jessica, gratitude filled, shouts out her brother Osama and thanks him for always supporting her. She also thanks her LISTENERS and IG FAMILY for connecting with her, following her @JessicaVibez and encouraging her along her own walk to becoming her best self.
