    Understanding and Healing Anger

    Understanding and Healing Anger
Healing anger requires a remarkable display of courage and sacrifice – forgiveness. This act of forgiveness operates through the heart, demanding the release of lingering resentments. It involves relinquishing the grip on memories and the past, even though anger has clouded the future. Such a release can be daunting, as it questions our identity and ego tied to that anger. It's an identity that thrives on blame and righteousness. Our reluctance to let go stems from pain weaving itself into our sense of self and connections with others. However, beneath the pain, you're not defined by the negativity it brings forth. Though we weren't created to hate, we also shouldn't endure abuse. This calls for a choice in who we wish to become moving forward. Remember, those who hurt us were once hurt themselves. This isn't about approving their actions but rather preventing their negativity from hardening our hearts. Life offers a conscious choice between love and hate, bitterness and forgiveness, resentment and peace, and division and unity. Embracing the latter leads to the gradual dissolution of pain's grip on your identity, replaced by the energies of compassion, empathy, and love.

Avoiding Vulnerability As A Coping Mechanism

Avoiding Vulnerability As A Coping Mechanism
Avoiding vulnerability can become a coping mechanism that hinders our emotional growth and connections with others. By shielding ourselves from vulnerability, we might temporarily escape discomfort, but in the long run, it limits our ability to form authentic relationships and stifles personal development. Embracing vulnerability allows us to confront our fears, share our true selves, and create deeper connections with those around us. It's a pathway to resilience, self-discovery, and meaningful experiences that enrich our lives.     Kate Hastings Podcast  Phenyx Fit Kate Hastings Podcast  Mental Health Coach

The Difference Between People Pleasing & Genuine Kindness

The Difference Between People Pleasing & Genuine Kindness
People-pleasing is the habitual act of putting others' needs before your own. It is an energy-draining habit where one tends to take on too much to avoid disappointing others. This behavior is a 'reflex reaction' rather than a 'conscious' choice. Learned experiences of (reward/punishment) stored in the body act as powerful levers that dictate one's behavior & relationship to others.  It often is a coping mechanism learned in early life that has become so ingrained and a way of being that it's the default mechanism for how one operates in the world.       Phenyx Fit Kate Hastings Podcast  Mental Health Coach Trauma Informed  @coachkate1

    Embracing Sacrifice

    Embracing Sacrifice
Phenyx Fit Kate Hastings Podcast  Mental Health Coach Trauma Informed  @coachkate1 Taking risks and putting all your chips in is a daring and courageous approach to life. It involves stepping outside your comfort zone and embracing uncertainty with full commitment. By wagering everything you have, whether it's your time, resources, or emotions, you demonstrate a profound belief in the potential rewards. It requires a mindset of resilience, adaptability, and a willingness to learn from triumphs and setbacks.    While the outcome may be uncertain, the experience itself can be transformative, fostering personal growth, faith, resilience, and a sense of fulfillment. It is through taking risks and going all-in that we often discover our true potential and achieve remarkable feats that would have otherwise remained unattainable.

You Can't Defeat What You Keep Entertaining

You Can't Defeat What You Keep Entertaining
"You can't defeat what you keep entertaining" speaks to the power of our choices and habits in shaping our lives. It suggests that when we continuously engage with or entertain negative influences, whether they be toxic relationships, self-destructive behaviors, or detrimental thought patterns, we hinder our ability to overcome them. By willingly giving these elements a place in our lives, we inadvertently grant them power and control over us. However, the adage also holds a key to empowerment: if we recognize and actively disengage from these negative influences, refusing to entertain them any longer, we can pave the way for personal growth, resilience, and triumph. It reminds us that true victory lies in consciously choosing to distance ourselves from that which hinders us, opening the door to a brighter future where we can face and conquer our challenges with a renewed sense of purpose and determination.     Phenyx Fit Kate Hastings Podcast  Mental Health Coach  @coachkate1

    Overcoming Avoidance and Overcompensation

    Overcoming Avoidance and Overcompensation
Avoidance and overcompensation are two sides of the same coin. Avoidance is when we consciously or subconsciously avoid confronting uncomfortable situations or emotions. On the other hand, overcompensation occurs when we try to compensate for our perceived shortcomings or insecurities by going to the extreme.     Phenyx Fit Kate Hastings Podcast  Mental Health Coach  @coachkate1

Understanding The Physiological Responses To Your Emotions

Understanding The Physiological Responses To Your Emotions
Emotions play a significant role in our daily lives, influencing our thoughts, behaviors, and overall well-being. Understanding the physiological responses to emotions involves recognizing the various changes that occur in your body when you experience different emotional states. Emotions can trigger both conscious and unconscious reactions within your body, leading to specific physiological responses.  Dysregulation of the nervous system can manifest in various signs and symptoms, including anxiety, overwhelm, difficulty concentrating, rapid heartbeat, digestive issues, chronic fatigue, mood swings, and sensitivity to sensory stimuli. The hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis, limbic system, and nervous system are interconnected systems that contribute to stress response, emotional regulation, and overall well-being. The nervous system is a complex network of cells, neurons, and tissues that coordinates and regulates the body's functions. Time alone does not heal the nervous system; it is the nervous system itself that heals. Time can create distance from one's authentic self and lead to counterproductive habits and self-destructive behaviors.
