After being married to a man addicted to pornography for a few months she was crushed and asked, "God, is this what it's all about?" She worked on herself and the marriage while he just kind of showed up.

She had her voice in every other area of life except her marriage.

Mary Whitman Ortiz, MA, CLC is passionate about empowering healthy sexuality in marriage. As a Christian sex educator, relationship coach, author, and speaker, she helps couples globally, and is regularly featured on TV as a relationship expert. She also trains church and ministry leaders to facilitate sexual healing and wholeness. 
God brought healing to sexual wounds from her past, so she knows first-hand the joy of restoration and freedom. Mary is happily married to Tim. Together, they love to jet ski and travel.

A garden is often a place God speaks to me. That's where this podcast started brewing - in the carrot beds where tiny carrots were drowning in weeds.

It's not enough to remove the weeds (bad things) from your life. There are also good things that need to go to make room for the harvest you are called to be cultivating.

I love the lessons God teaches me in the garden. It reminds me of the parables where Jesus used nature to teach about Kingdom life.

Trying to fit it all in might leave you with a weed patch.

Know what God is calling you to. 
Be okay with lots of empty space.
Eliminate everything that God did not say to plant in this season.

I don't say this to scare you. I do want to make you aware and give you tools to make your impact a positive one.

April has been an inspiration to me since not long after I met her. She has embraced God's call to RISE UP again and again.
 
 At one time in her life she was on drugs and today she has a successful business, has written a book, and ministers in the women's prison.

It was my first interview so I don't feel I captured her story as well as I could have. I know her story will inspire and encourage you to say yes to what God is calling you to.

Emotions are a gift from God.
It is not a good idea to let them drive!
It's also not a good idea to stuff them in the trunk, try to leave them along the side of the road, or try to trick them into being quiet.
They have important information for you when you learn to listen.

You have an enemy and he knows you well. He is tricky and deceitful. 

You can learn to be on guard against his attacks.

Learn one way he gets you to make agreements that hurt you so you can avoid this trap more often. Then teach your children to avoid this trap, too.

Not all your thoughts are yours. Understanding who is talking to you is key to walking in emotional health and maturity.
