    Left Trigger Right Trigger

Join us every other week as we convene the 'video game book club.' Each episode is structured around a topic: anything from 'Trust' to 'Robots' to 'Body Parts'. Listen in as your hosts each bring a game to the table that they think exemplifies that topic in some way. Give us a shot and remember, games are just metaphors.

    Reputation

    Reputation

Dear listener, we ask you to be our mirror. Tell us, what is our reputation? Please be honest, and let us know who you think we are. Then let us know what wares that makes us qualified to purchase. The UI is foggy on this so we have to use text prompts.

In this episode: Giovanni asks "what's in a name?" David inspects the morality of mechanics. Tess fights the power. Greg asks some tough questions.

If you'd like to build up reputation with LTRT, head over to patreon.com/LTRT. While you gain points with our faction, you can check out the Patron exclusive content. Or head over to lefttriggerrighttrigger.com

Games discussed: WWF No Mercy, Infamous Second Son, Baldur's Gate, and Mega Man 3

    Pets

    Pets

Pets: what are they? where do they call home? what's their favorite treat? This is an episode full of thoughts like these and also RIP Gorbachev we guess.

In this episode: David ponders the immortal Nintendog. Giovanni watches his cat play video games. Greg explore his dark side. Tess has her petting zoo license revoked.

If you want to to adopt or sponsor us to be your pet, head over to patreon.com/LTRT. We have all types of adorable antics for our subscribers, like that one time G and David talked about Elden Ring for like an hour and a half

Games discussed: Resident Evil 6, Nintendogs, Cult of the Lamb, and Rollercoaster Tycoon 3

    Bazooka

    Bazooka

Listeners, Double-O August comes in like a Cookie and out like a Bazooka. This episode blasts its way into your brain, opening you up to new ideas. I guess your brain is a tank or something in this metaphor? When did writing these get so difficult.

In this episode: David asks, "why do game have a big gun?" Giovanni tries to rocket jump. Tess loads everything she can into a tube and blasts it at you. Greg has worms.

Hungry for more nonsense and explosive ordinance? Check out patreon.com/LTRT. You can learn all about World Flipper, a game that captured our attention for approximately two months that then most of us swore off of.

Or you could also check out lefttriggerrighttrigger.com

Games discussed: Doom, Team Fortress 2, Earth Defense Force 2017, and Worms W.M.D.

    Cookie

    Cookie

A treat! A snack! A delight! A Cookie! Listeners, however you describe it, this episode is sweet enough to satiate your sweet...ear? Is that really the audio equivalent of a sweet-tooth? Sweet-cochlea? That's nothing - this metaphor isn't working.

In this episode: David reveals the dark underside of Pokémon GO. Giovanni explains why we're in the silver age of character licensing deals. Greg says a lot of jargon in a convincing and scary way. Tess wants to know what your relationship to cookies is like.

If you're interested in a real sweet treat, you can dip your hand into our cookie jar over at patreon.com/LTRT. If you sign up you can listen to an exclusive podcast in which we only talk about Elden Ring for like 2 hours. Isn't that a sweet treat?

    Hunting

    Hunting

Listeners, it's the episode you've all been waiting for: the one where we talk about that one sword from Beowulf. Just kidding, this isn't an episode about Hrunting, the sword gifted from Unferth and used in battle against Grendel's Dam. It's about Hunting - something these four nerds are definitely qualified to discuss.

In this episode: David lands a ten-pointer (that's a hunting thing? right? numbers and points?). Tess gets addicted to roleplaying in Pokémon. Greg doesn't talk about a card game (well, only technically). Giovanni unleashes his darkest wrath with a plastic shotgun.

Hey listen, if you like the Hunting episode you can support all our other sports goals by going to patreon.com/LTRT. All our best trophies are there, like the special episode of After Hours where we discuss Gamer Tummies.

6ixth Annual Father's Day Dadstravanganza: The Red Herring (Respectfully)

Listeners! Who could have anticipated that your LTRT hosts would do yet another Father's Day episode?? You'd think that by the 6ixth one of these we'd know better, but you know what they say: fool me once, shame on you. Fool me six times, I have a condition.  Welcome to the 6ixth Annual Father's Day Dadstravanganza: The Red Herring (Respectfully). We know we just had a fishing episode a little bit ago, but this one is for the DADS! Dads out there, this episode is for you. Here's what you can look forward to in this year's Dadstravanganza: Giovanni brainstorms the ideal videogame for dads. David washes down the deck. Greg really mixes up his dad references. Paint

    Paint

It's getting hot out there. Wouldn't you like to cool off with some nice, refreshing, thirst-quenching paint? Now we know what you're thinking: "Isn't paint toxic?" But here at Left Trigger Right Trigger we don't prescribe to such pedantic categorizations like "toxic" or "healthy" or "pedantic." We just aim to make sure you're taking care of yourself the best way we can, which in this case is a big tub of paint right down your gullet.* What're our favorite ways to enjoy paint via video games? Well we're glad you asked! Giovanni gets industrious with some definitions. Greg comes face to face with his inadequacies. David discusses how much joy Pizza brings him. Tess helps shine a light on the perils of giving children wall candy.

    Racing
Hey listeners... we know in the last episode we said we wanted a normal, regular episode. And maybe Beige wasn't quite standard for us. In fact, maybe it was an overcorrection - Beige was too normal of an episode. In response, here's a normal episode that's the normal amount of normal. That sentence makes sense, we promise. Welcome to the Racing episode!
