    How often do you judge yourself? How often do you tell yourself that you shouldn't be thinking or feeling a certain way? How often do you beat yourself up for being a certain way? 

    My kids are all getting ready for school and this has been something we've been discussing. There are some that are upset with how things were last year and have a lot of fear about those things repeating. They are tellling themselves they should be happier or better in some way. 

    However, those judgements, only distract us from being here in the now. 

    The past is the past. Love it. Allow the feeling of it. But stop being tethered to it. 

    The now is all we have.

    When you have no friends

    When you have no friends

    Do you have friends? Are you satisfied with how your relationships are going? Do you feel like you're validated? Do you feel like you're getting what you desire from them?

    For many people I've been speaking to recently, I've noticed that that hasn't been the case. Many people are expressing that they feel like they have no friends, or that friends are changing and how lonely they are. 

    I myself have noticed this shift lately. I've noticed how lonely I've been feeling as relationships are shifting and things are changing. My first inclination is to just fill my time with more relationships or call someone to fill that void. However, that void can't be filled by others. 

    This is what I want you to understand. 

    If you're feeling lonely, rejected, hurt, unseen or unwanted... nothing has gone wrong. This is your opportunity for you to see where maybe you've become reliant and co-dependent on others to show up a certain way so you don't have to connect more to yourself. 

    Today I want to share how I'm taking this time where relationships are shifting, and seeing it as an opportunity to connect more to me rather than thinking something has gone wrong.

    Recently I have been really becoming aware of the thing that has been leading to a lot of undo stress and anxiety for me. 

    And this things is also a theme I see for a lot of my clients too. 

    Because of our desire to belong and do things right- we can often take on the world's view and standards without ever giving ourselves permission to decide for ourselves what we want to believe. 

    The world likes to tell us how to parent, what to do in our businesses, how to treat others... and yet it can create so much pressure, comparing and resentment. We always can feel like we're lacking and not doing enough. 

    I want to offer that instead of living by the world's expectations, decide your own expectations. 

    This will create a more fulfilling life overall.

    When we are in our heads, we tend to do things that disconnect us even more from our bodies. We don't take care of ourselves very well when we're in our head. 

    We want to make a shift from out of our head and more into our body. We want to step more into ourselves.

    Why is it so hard to do the things we don't want to? 

    Like going to the gym, eating healthy, or even doing the laundry or cleaning the bathroom?

    I think for many people, they're waiting for this magic emotion that is going to make them motivated to get those things done. 

    In fact, I believe people have this misconception that successful people don't ever have this problem of not wanting to do the small little things. 

    No- I think successful people just understand that they can feel dread and do it anyways.

    Handling Your Inner Critic

    You know that voice that is very opinionated? It's not very nice? It has a lot of harsh judgements to offer up all the time? You might even know it as your inner critic. 

    I get this question a lot about how to handle the inner critic. 

    They believe that the inner critic is controlling them and preventing them from doing what they want. 

    I know a lot of efforts have been made to get rid of the inner critic and avoid it. 

    But just like everything else we teach here, I think what we run from or avoid, we actually make louder. So trying to get rid of the inner critic will only make it bigger. 

    Instead, I want to share 3 things that will help with understanding your inner critic and will help it to quiet it. 

    It's very similar to understanding our emotions. 

    We just love to over complicate it at times.

    I love to really consider that there is no such things as problems in this world. 

    Really there isn't. 

    Everything you feel coming up in you and saying 'ya but'- I want you to just notice and let it sit with you.

    What if that ya but wasn't true?

    Your emotions aren't a problem.

    Your relationships aren't a problem.

    Your money isn't a problem.

    Your life isn't a problem.

    If that was the case, what might become available to you? 

    Problems create so much overwhelm in our world. Problems shut us down to possibility. 

    Without problems, we have space to create and be. 

    We need more of that space.

    Your #1 asset is the connection to yourself.

    We often think our #1 assets is something outside of us- money, time, business, people. Then we spend our time chasing and trying to 'get' those things. This creates so much lack, and scarcity. 

    Instead of thinking anything outside of us is an asset, work to creating that asset with yourself. What do you think you get with money? Safety? Security? Then build that within yourself.

    You are safety. You are security. 

    Learn to heal that version of you that learned that those things were important to go after. 

    Go in. 

    Spend time with her. Love her. Build safety with her. 

    As you spend time building safety with your #1 asset (yourself), everything will change.

    Have you ever been constipated before? It feels aweful. You feel sluggish, and just like you can't move your best throughout the day. 

    To relieve it means trying so many things, positions, foods and relaxation to learn to let it go. 

    It is not a fun process. 

    However, so many of us are feeling emotional constipation and don't even realize it. 

    Emotional constipation prevents us from havng connection with ourselves, others or our lives. Emotional constipation keeps our body in fight or flight. 

    Today I want to share symtpoms you might be experiencing that could be emotional constipation. As well as I would like to share how you can add some emotional fiber back into your life so you can feel emotional flow and connection.

    Fear seems to be a wall we can sometimes come up against in different situations. 

    It can feel like a block...like you've gone blank... like you're confused.

    This is how I felt after deciding to sit and do this podcast today. 

    Before today I was feeling so inspired by so many amazing ideas. Then today, all I could feel was fear. Fear of being unseen. Fear of doing it all right. 

    It was like a wall.

    However, this time, instead of just trying to get over the wall, I am taking the time to notice what the wall is and allow it. Allow the fear. Allow the feeling of unseen. 

    Today I want to share that process with you in the most vulnerable and authentic way.

    When babies are first born, they don't think anything about themselves. They are just love. And we praise them for them being who they are. 

    This is what I call true self. Who you inherently are. Valueable, worthy, no matter what. 

    That true self inside of you right now. 

    The problem is that as we grow up, a second identity shadows that true identity. I call it the false identity. 

    We let the false identity tell us who we are and what we're capable of. So we think our stories and emotions are who we are. 

    This just isn't true. 

    Who you are is your true self. 

    False self is simply that. False.

    You are not 'it'.

    This is so important to understand so that we can learn to separate ourselves from our false self and see if for what 'it' is.

    You've probably heard the hype around meditation. Maybe the thought of sitting in silence frightens you. It did me for a long time so I completely understand.

    However, I recently have made more of the connection as to why these hours of silence are so powerful and impactful. 

    In the scriptures over and over again it talks about the breath and heart as a connection point to not only ourselves, but to our Heavenly Father. 

    Breathe and heart.

    It's not doing more. It's not checking off boxes that does it. 

    It's breathe and heart. 

    And silence.

    Throught he silence is that connection to ourselves and leaves the space to receive more of Heavenly Father. 

    We need more of that. 

    And the way through is through an hour of silence. 

    Today I share the journey of what this is like for me and how to make it work for you. 

    We need more of that connection to our true selves.

    As we get to know our emotions and our stories more- it can feel like there's a lot to 'fix'. 

    It can feel like everything is more chaotic and messier. 

    However, I want you to understand that as you start to get to know yourself more, it can feel like it's more overwhelming before it feels more peaceful. You are letting out things that have been repressed for years and years. 

    The goal that we must have is to actually learn to acknwoledge more of those stories as being just stories. They aren't you. 

    Those emotions, are just emotions. They aren't you. 

    This an important distinction to make because if you are your stories and emotions, it makes it very hard to let that go...to let YOU go. 

    Today I want to share the process I am in that is helping me to get to know myself even more as well as creating more space to accept all of me.

    So often we get caught up in focusing on HOW to do things. And thankfully we live in such an amazing and abundant world, that we can literally figure out HOW to do anything pretty quickly. 

    However, I think we've also become accustomed and dependent on knowing HOW to do everything which ironically has left many of us feeling lost and stuck. 

    How- quite frankly- keeps us up in the head. 

    When really what we need to do is drop more into the body and uinderstand the WHY! 

    When you figure out a why to something- you feel it so differently. You feel grounded. You feel centered and in your body. 

    That is what I want to encourage you to seek out more. 

    Why are you trying to connect more to yourself? 

    Why are you wanting to connect to your emotions?

    Sit there. Sit in the unknowing and the curiosity and love of the why- and the how will just simply follow.

    Make sure to download the Private Podcast if you haven't yet- it will really help you do more of what we're going to discuss today- which is connecting more to yourself.

    When we say connecting more to ourselves, I think we 'get it' on some level, but there's still a part of us that is screaming at the top of the lungs to stay far away from that intimate connection because we might have to see parts of us we don't like.

    This has been my experience as of late when it comes to shame. 

    I want to be connected more to myself and my Heavenly Father, but in order to do so- I needed to connect to that part of me that I was afraid of. Shame.

    Shame is the emotion I have made decisions from in order to not feel it. Shame is what keeps me in fear and lack and trying to control so much on the outside. Because I have told myself for years that you shouldn't feel shame. 

    However, learning to get intimate with shame- is exactly what I needed to do.

    I am going to get real and vulnerable and share what it's been like to encounter shame so you can do it as well if you're ready to dive into connecting more to yourself and to your Heavenly Father.

    We often hear the words 'letting go' when it comes to growing and shifting in our personal lives. 

    It's something we can often think we're supposed to do.

    I thought that as well.

    In fact last year for 2022- my words were 'Let go'.

    However, I have found as I am on my own personal journey right now, that the need to let go is actually keeping me stuck and not allowing me to fully heal.

    What we actually need to do is Let in. Let in the shame. Let in the stories of who we think we are. Let in the old version of ourselves. Letting in is the only way to acceptance and change.

    What is required to be Emotionally Intelligent

    Right now there's a lot of buzz around the term Emotionally Intelligent. It seems to be the thing everyone is aspiring for. 

    But what is it? 

    Why is it needed? 

    Emotional Intelligence is your ability to recognize and respond to your emotions. This is actually huge. It has been proven that those who have emotional intelligence, have greater success in their lives and relationships. I mean- who doesn't want more of that. 

    When we can know and understand our emotions, and learn how to respond to them, then we also learn how to manage ourselves and show up as more of the person we want to be. 

    This is the key to creating the life you want.

    You want more time freedom, and connection in your relationships? Become more Emotionally Intelligent. 

    Get to know yourself. 

    So how do we do this? 

    That first step is huge and it really is the foundation for all growth. 

    Awareness.

    You have to know what you're thinking and feeling on a regular basis. You can't change or manage what you don't know.

    Doing Emotion Work 1.0 vs. Emotion work 2.0 [Myths About Emotions Series]

    Final Myth in our Myth Series is Myth #5 and what the differences are between Emotion work 1.0 and Emotion Work 2.0.

    When I first got into coaching, I had no clue what my emotions were. I couldn't tell you what I was feeling on a regular basis. I was so used to avoiding them that having to learn what I was feeling was so challenging at first. 

    Emotion work 1.0 was so powerful for me to use. It was so uncomfortable for me to name my emotion and learn where it was located. It was so uncomfortable to then learn how to describe it. 

    As I learned more about my emotions with Emotion work 1.0, I had many amazing breakthroughs and transformations. I had woken up to my emotions again. 

    Then I hit a time where I was struggling with 'what's next' with my emotions. I felt like there was something missing. I was still struggling with accepting them, and changing my relationship with them. 

    That is when I discovered Emotion work 2.0. 

    The difference with Emotion work 2.0 is that it goes beyond the description of emotions in 1.0. It goes inside deeper to see MORE of what that emotion might be trying to tell you. This is where the healing happens. 

    This part takes time. And for some, Emotion work 1.0 is enough. But you that know there's 'more' you want to do- Emotion work 2.0 is where to go.
