    MEDITATION SPACE

    Welcome to MEDITATION SPACE.

    Meditation
focuses the mind and eliminates distractions to improve clarity, calm, and awareness. Mindfulness, stress reduction, and inner serenity are commonly achieved through it. Meditation has been practised for millennia in Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism, and Jainism.

Each meditation method has its own goals and practises.

Some of the meditations we will practice include:

Mindfulness Meditation: Focusing on the present, including thoughts, feelings, and emotions, without judgement. It involves monitoring your experience without judgement or reaction.

Transcendental Meditation (TM): To calm and still, TM practitioners chant a mantra silently.

Loving-kindness Meditation: Metta meditation promotes self-compassion and love.

Zen Meditation (Zazen): Based on Zen Buddhism, this practise entails sitting in a certain position and meditating on the breath or a koan to understand reality.

Vipassana Meditation: Theravada Buddhists use physiological sensations and ideas to understand reality's impermanence and selflessness.

Guided Meditation: A recorded or live guide takes the practitioner through visualisation or relaxation exercises.

Regular meditation can enhance stress, focus, emotional management, self-awareness, and well-being. Meditation has been demonstrated to improve brain structure and function, as well as blood pressure and heart rate.

All ages and backgrounds can meditate, regardless of religion or spirituality. Meditation can be beneficial for many people, but it may not be right for everyone and may be difficult at first. Explore numerous meditation methods to find the one that works for you if you want to start.

MEDITATION SPACE offers meditation practice to seek FULFILMENT everyday.

STANDING MEDITATION - MEDITATION SPACE - JOEY BUSUTTIL

    Standing meditation
or 'Zhan zhuang' ( pronounced Jam Jong) increases vitality, internal strength and fitness as well as overall body power. Developed in China by masters of meditation and acupuncture, Zhan zhuang is a form of medical meditation. This form of meditation also increases physical strength and power.

As with most things in life, there's no one-size-fits-all when it comes to the best meditation position. From a purist's perspective, a mindfulness practice can be done in one of four postures: sitting, standing, lying down, and walking.

Zhan Zhuang is a standing meditation where you stand still. The initial goal is to relax and sink all the tension in your body beneath your feet. This standing method cultivates the body's natural energy called chi. It's a simple practice with extraordinary mental and physical benefits.

    Meditation
is a practise that can really make your life better. A practise that changes and improves your life in ways you might not expect.

So we need to do the right things and set up the right conditions if we’re going to change. Let yourself relax and let go.

Literally speaking, the word "chakra" from Sanskrit translates to "wheel" or "disk," but it references a spiritual energy center within the human body.

    THE 7 CHAKRAS OVERVIEW

Chakras refer to various energy centers in your body that correspond to specific nerve bundles and internal organs. The seven major chakras run from the base of your spine to the top of your head. If these energy centers get blocked, you may experience physical or emotional symptoms related to a particular chakra.

When balanced, aligned, and unblocked, energy flows freely through the chakras, harmonizing your body, mind, and spirit. These energy centers can do the opposite when blocked or out of balance. The interrupted energy flow sows discord and can cause specific mental, physical, and spiritual problems.

Chakras are thought to provide subtle energy that helps your organs, mind, and intellect work at their best level. Chakras and spiritual energy have not been thoroughly examined in medical studies, but they may help you think about your own mind and body like any religion or belief.

Meditation is a practise that can really make your life better. A practise that changes and improves your life in ways you might not expect.

THE BEGINNING OF A NEW YEAR MEDITATION - MEDITATION SPACE - JOE-Y BUSUTTIL

A new year is a new beginning. It is like a new birth.

As the new year begins, we feel that we need to make changes in our life, start on a new path, do new things, and say goodbye to old habits, problems and difficulties.

Often, we start making new plans and new resolutions. We might feel elated, inspired and hopeful, but sometimes also apprehensive.

The question is whether we will continue and persevere, or quit our plans and resolutions.

Will we revert to our habitual behavior and continue living the same kind of life, without making any changes or improvements?

If you want to make real changes in your life you need to take certain steps. It is great to dream big. It is a pleasure to dream. However, to make your dreams come true you need to do something about them, not just daydream.

Meditation is a practise that can really make your life better. A practise that changes and improves your life in ways you might not expect.

So we need to do the right things and set up the right conditions if we’re going to change. Let yourself relax and let go.

HIGHER CONSCIOUSNESS AND A CHANGING WORLD - MEDITATION SPACE - JOE-Y BUSUTTIL

Higher consciousness is the term given to describe a state of elevated awareness and perception that allows individuals to develop a deeper understanding of the nature of reality. These states move the mind beyond self-interest and craving.

This particular term refers to a state of consciousness that transcends normal human consciousness. The terms transcendental consciousness, higher consciousness, and super-consciousness are all terms that often can be used interchangeably with the term divine consciousness.

In essence (literally), your higher self is the part of you that is unencumbered by ego and the divisions it can stoke between you and your fellow humans. It's the non-material dimension of you (some call it a soul or spirit) that's part of the cosmic or celestial whole.

So What IS Global Consciousness? Global consciousness is the capacity and disposition to understand and act upon issues of global significance. It is the ability and willingness to understand oneself and others within the broader matrix of our contemporary world.

It involves evoking and cultivating the states and qualities of mind, through intentional and specific mindset shifts, that enable us to be and think differently, as well as to act differently by taking intelligent and right actions that serve the collective and the good of the whole

LOVE YOURSELF MEDITATION - MEDITATION SPACE - JOE-Y BUSUTTIL

We know it’s important to love ourselves. But what does it really mean to love and care for yourself?

For some people, self-love means taking a warm bath or pampering themselves with a massage or manicure. Yet, the elusive self-love that we seek requires something deeper than anything we can "do" for ourselves.

Self-love means finding peace within ourselves — resting comfortably within the depths of our being. We might find temporary respite by doing something to nurture ourselves. But a deeper inner peace requires cultivating a certain way of being with ourselves — a warm and nurturing attitude toward what we experience inside.

It’s often easier to be kind and gentle toward others than toward ourselves. Judgmental voices from the past may have left a hidden residue of toxic shame which blocks us from honoring or even noticing what we’re really feeling.

Being gentle with ourselves means being kind and friendly toward the feelings that arise within us. It is very human to feel sad, hurt, and afraid sometimes. It’s a sign of strength, not weakness, to become mindful of these feelings and allow a friendly space for them.

Meditation is a practise that can really make your life better. A practise that changes and improves your life in ways you might not expect.

DEEPER INNER CHILD HEALING MEDITATION - MEDITATION SPACE - JOE-Y BUSUTTIL

When we begin inner child healing work, we tap into a part of ourselves that is vulnerable and impressionable. We're able to be both the “grown-up” and the child, providing unconditional self-love, self-compassion, and self-support.

Healing your inner child, then, focuses on uncovering and releasing the causes for the childlike aspects of your personality, so you can react to challenges in your adult life as an adult, rather than a kid. The good news: Healing your inner child can feel a lot like self-care.

Often our inner child needs love and reassurance. Speaking this way to ourselves, our inner child can help soothe negative feelings and create the feelings of safety they lacked.

Inner child healing is important because it recognizes past trauma and provides the necessary tools for moving forward. Understanding where certain behavior patterns stem from is an important step in the recovery process. Inner child healing helps individuals access their pain in a way that is productive and gentle.

Body scan meditation is a practice in which you pay attention to sensations happening in your body. During a body scan, you mentally scan over every part of your body from your head to your toes.

Sensations are anything that you feel and notice in the body, like tingling, cramping, tightness, heat, coolness, buzzing, pulsing, itching, throbbing or numbness.

Why is noticing sensations in the body beneficial? It helps bring your attention to the present moment, since you can only feel what is taking place in the “here and now.”

The idea behind a body scan is that physical sensations are tied to emotional states. You may not even realize that stress and other emotions, such as anger or sadness, cause physical symptoms like tightness in your chest, headaches and heartburn.

The practice trains you to stay present in your body even when you don’t like what you’re experiencing, such as pain and discomfort.nter.

Meditation is a practise that can really make your life better. A practise that changes and improves your life in ways you might not expect.

Now is a very important time to connect, to be aware of how you are feeling. Let go of what you think is happening all around you & instead move inward. Move to the still point that is deep within you. Be still. Be more still. Be still again. From that stillness feel deeply. If it is fear, if it is anxiousness, if it is frustration, if it is a disappointment, if it is anger, then so be it. Feel it deeply. Don’t resist it. Feel it from the place deep within that is your center.

Episode 32: COUNTING MEDITATATION - MEDITATION SPACE - SEEKING EUDAIMONIA PODCAST

COUNTING MEDITATATION - MEDITATION SPACE - SEEKING EUDAIMONIA PODCAST

So what is the counting meditation?

It’s exactly what it sounds like. You sit down, relax, close your eyes, and quietly count to 100 in your head.

Yep, that’s it. I know. You may be asking, “Did you really need all this meditation training just to count to 100? And what’s so special about counting? Haven’t you been doing that your whole life? It never turned you into the Buddha before. Why should it now?”

Listen, it really works. I’m not kidding at all.

    Here’s how you do it.

Again, sit down, be still, relax, and silently start counting to 100. Don’t rush. Just go at a natural pace and keep letting yourself relax while sitting still with your spine straight.

So, what’s happening when you do this? You are focusing your mind. Don’t underestimate the power of a practice like this to hone your attention. As you count to 100, your mind will wander. That’s totally natural. You just want to bring it back to the counting. It will drift again and you should bring your attention back again to the count.

When you do this counting exercise with real intention, your mind naturally starts to align with the counting. As you focus, your attention withdraws from the addictive stream of thought, conclusions, and opinions that your mind is usually fixed on.

By slowly bringing your mind back to the count, again and again, you start to train your awareness. That is the power of this practice.

Welcome to the EUDAIMONIA connection podcast.

I am Joey Busuttil and after experiencing years in mental, physical and spiritual psychosis- I decided to re claimed my life by stepping into a quest to find EUDAIMONIA.

Episode 31: RIBBONS OF HEALING MEDITATIONS - MEDITATION SPACE - Joe-y Busuttil

RIBBONS OF HEALING MEDITATIONS - MEDITATION SPACE - Joe-y Busuttil

Meditation isn’t always about emptying the mind and focusing on the breath alone. This form of meditation is generally known as passive meditation.

While it is a good idea to train oneself in passive meditation to experience more control and deeper relaxation, it is only one form in a basket full of meditative practices.

Through millions of years of evolution, the body knows how to heal itself. We just have to learn how to get out of its way. Reducing unnecessary psychological distress by balancing stress levels helps the body perform optimally. Meditation is a tool we can use to do this.

During and after meditation, the body stops producing the ‘stress’ chemicals associated with the sympathetic nervous system’s fight or flight response. Negative thinking is also reduced, which can trigger the stress response and the further release of stress chemicals in the body, since negative thoughts are perceived threats. It is like we are signalling to the body and mind that it is safe, and we can calm down.

One of the easiest ways to relax and reduce stress is to simply start observing your breath. This can be done in almost any situation and any position – whether sitting, standing, lying down or walking. Bringing attention to your breath has an immediate calming effect on both your body and your mind as it cuts the negative feedback loop caused by stress. This is where unpleasant reactions to negative thoughts cause the release of stress chemicals in the body, which leads to further negative thoughts about the actual severity of the situation (and even vice-versa).

Mindfulness is the practice of observing the reality of the present moment with an accepting an non-judgmental attitude. It is practiced in the same way as breathing meditation, however with expanded awareness of all objects of consciousness – including feeling, sight, hearing, taste, smell and even thoughts.

Meditation is a practise that can really make your life better. A practise that changes and improves your life in ways you might not expect.

So we need to do the right things and set up the right conditions if we’re going to change. Let your self relax and let go.

Episode 30: KINDNESS MEDITATION - MEDITATION SPACE - Joe-y Busuttil

KINDNESS MEDITATIONS - MEDITATION SPACE - Joe-y Busuttil

Kindness is all the different ways — both big and small — we express care, concern, and consideration for ourselves and those with whom we share the world.

Kindness shows up as a supportive smile, a comforting embrace, and a helping hand when we need it the most — but may expect it the least.

It exists as heartfelt words of encouragement, thoughtful gestures of affection, and compassionate acts of generosity so many of us witness, perform, and receive as we move through life.

In a world filled with struggle and pain, kindness is like a deep cleansing breath that rejuvenates us with its purity, refreshes us with its goodness, and gives us the strength to persevere despite our troubles.

Being kind shouldn’t be reserved only for others. You need to be kind to yourself too because you, like everyone else, deserve kindness too.

Treat yourself as you would anyone else. Avoid criticizing or putting yourself down. Instead, offer yourself kind words every day. Steer clear of people who are stressing you out and stick with those that inspire you. After all, you can’t give what you don’t have. The same is true with kindness. You can’t be truly kind to others if you can’t even be kind to yourself.

Meditation is a practise that can really make your life better. A practise that changes and improves your life in ways you might not expect.

So we need to do the right things and set up the right conditions if we’re going to change. Let your self relax and let go.

Episode 29: DEAL WITH KARMA MEDITATIONS - MEDITATION SPACE - Joe-y Busuttil

KARMA MEDITATIONS - MEDITATION SPACE - Joe-y Busuttil

Karma is something that’s often totally misunderstood. When most people hear the word karma, they associate it with the idea of fate: “It’s your karma. There’s nothing you can do about it.” But the true sense of karma is exactly the opposite. Karma can change. If we want to improve our lives and the situations of everyone around us, we need to understand how karma works.

The word karma simply means action. It has to do with cause and effect—the law of karma is actually very scientific. In the physical world, it’s easy to understand: you put your finger on the hot stove, it immediately hurts, right? In the world of the mind, karma works exactly the same way. It’s the same kind of cause and effect, but because it’s less tangible, it’s harder to understand. There is also a time delay for mental effects to ripen in our mindstream.

Everything is interrelated in terms of these movements of cause and effect: what we put into our mind has a huge effect—on what? On everything. It’s like food. We all know that if you put bad food in your body, you don’t feel good. Similarly, if you entertain negative thoughts, you don’t feel good. But good food and good thoughts are a different story and lead to a different

ME, MYSELF  MEDITATION - MEDITATION SPACE - Joe-y Busuttil

This distinction was originally based on the idea that the former (“Me”) corresponds to the self as an object of experience (self as object), while the latter (“I”) reflects the self as a subject of experience (self as subject)

An example of this would be, “I am aware that I am wearing a shirt.” On another level, you have substantial self-knowledge. This refers to your deeper feelings, emotions, and values. For example, “I value loyalty in other people.”

Self-knowledge is essential for personal growth, decision making, and accurate self-assessment. It is the opposite of ignorance and helps us make sense of our experiences. Importantly, self-knowledge is an essential tool to help in the change process. Change is hard.

Getting to know yourself means you have to dive into the depths of your soul, in an honest and accepting way. It is about learning from your past experiences, letting them go through forgiving yourself and others, acceptance of your weaknesses and then learning how to love all of it.

Meditation is a practise that can really make your life better. A practise that changes and improves your life in ways you might not expect.

So we need to do the right things and set up the right conditions if we’re going to change. Let your self relax and let go.

Episode 26: SELF CONTROL MEDITATION - MEDITATION SPACE - Joe-y Busuttil

SELF CONTROL MEDITATION - MEDITATION SPACE - Joe-y Busuttil

To understand the link between meditation and self-control, we need to know how willpower works in the brain.

When we exercise any kind of self-control, we always use the same part of the brain. The area is called the ventrolateral prefrontal cortex of the right side.

Feelings are an important part of our lives, and we often pay more attention to them than to our thoughts. When someone dies, it's hard to understand, and we often lose ourselves in deep sadness as we imagine that we won't ever see the person again.

We know deep down that this is also our fate and that this is just the way life is. But sometimes grief gets the best of us, and people die from it if they were close to the person who died and can't let go.

The same is true for things like anger and worry.

When it comes to temper, we know that it can lead to regret and that things that make us anxious will be solved in the end, but we can't always control our feelings to make them match what we know.

Meditation is helpful in this situation because it helps us keep our feelings in check and puts our minds above our feelings. And this makes it easier to deal with sadness, worry, anger, and all the other emotions that make our lives hard.

People who meditate often are better able to keep themselves in check than people who don't.

Even though I don't have full self-control in all of these areas, I have a good handle on most of them. I was able to make these changes by meditating often, working hard every day, and being disciplined.

Meditation does help you a lot with self-control, but you also need to change a few things about yourself to make a complete change.

Meditation is a practise that can really make your life better. A practise that changes and improves your life in ways you might not expect.

So we need to do the right things and set up the right conditions if we’re going to change. Let your self relax and let go.

SEASONAL MEDITATION - MEDITATION SPACE - Joe-y Busuttil

Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) is a type of depression that’s triggered by a change in seasons, usually when fall starts. This seasonal depression gets worse in the late fall or early winter before ending in the sunnier days of spring.

You can also get a mild version of SAD known as the “winter blues.” It’s normal to feel a little down during colder months. You may be stuck inside, and it gets dark early.

But full SAD goes beyond this. It’s a form of depression. Unlike the winter blues, SAD affects your daily life, including how you feel and think. Fortunately, treatment can help you get through this challenging time.

Seasonal affective disorder is also called seasonal depression.

Episode 23: NIGHT SKY MEDITATION - MEDITATION SPACE - Joe-y Busuttil

NIGHT SKY MEDITATION - MEDITATION SPACE - Joe-y Busuttil

When I  become bored of staying in my room and find nothing to do, I go to my balcony and look at the sky. Most of the time I look at the sky in the evening. When the sun starts to go down. And when I look at sky, I feel a sense of purity, serenity. The wide sky and the breeze reach deep inside of me and make me feel happy. The feeling is really breathtaking. The wideness of the sky, the serenity reaches into my heart. The evening sky has different colours each day. Most of the time it is sky blue, and the blue clouds. Sometimes it becomes yellow. Sometimes pink, red, or purple. Sometimes gray. It also has a spiritual effect. The beautiful sky reminds me of the Creator. I wish I could hold on to that time forever.

When I become so depressed and nothing seems to be able to heal me, I look at the sky. And after a while, my pains go away.  My mind becomes light and fresh. I look at the sky and think about my problems, without telling a single word. The sky seems to be like my friend, who is always there for me silently. It works as healing for me. And it helps me to think that everything will be alright and I can start again. In this world where nothing is eternal, sky is something that will remain till the end of the world. So when no one is by my side, I look at the sky.

When I become so restless with my problems, I look at the night sky. The nightscape. The largeness of the sky does something in my mind. I try to inhale the beauty and exhale my pains and worries. And then my restlessness decreases. Sometimes I see a full moon with all its beauty. Sometimes I see stars, but that is rare because of the city lights.

When I go to my balcony to look at the sky, usually I take no one with me. That's another thing. As an introvert, I enjoy alone time. And in that time, it feels even more comfortable. Only me and the sky. I love thinking a lot of things looking at the sky. I think about myself. I think about my dreams or someone. I think about the Almighty. I enjoy my own company. My heartbeat.

So we need to do the right things and set up the right conditions if we’re going to change. Let your self relax and let go.

Episode 22: SIMPLICITY MEDITATION - MEDITATION SPACE Space - Joe-y Busuttil

SIMPLICITY MEDITATION - MEDITATION SPACE  - Joe-y Busuttil

Happiness is not dependent on external circumstances; rather, it is to be found in the simpler joys of life, and most of all in the ever new bliss of deep meditation.

Be happy by clinging to the simple, true, and lasting soul-joys. They come by deep thinking, introspection, spiritual inspiration, and meditation.

Modern life is becoming very unsatisfactory. It does not give you happiness. There are too many things, too many desires. More nice cars and dresses and entertainments — and more worries! Free yourself from these so-called “necessities” and spend more time with God. Make your life simple. Be happy in and by your Self.

The pleasure of modern man is in getting more and more, and what happens to anyone else doesn’t matter. But isn’t it better to live simply — without so many luxuries and with fewer worries? There is no pleasure in driving yourself until you cannot enjoy what you have….The time will come when mankind will begin to get away from the consciousness of needing so many material things. More security and peace will be found in the simple life.

So we need to do the right things and set up the right conditions if we’re going to change. Let your self relax and let go.

Episode 21: AFFIRMATIONS MEDITTION - Metitation Space - Joe-y Busuttil

AFFIRMATIONS MEDITTION - Metitation Space - Joe-y Busuttil

An affirmation is usually a sentence, a sentence of powerful words put together, like a positive statement, and this sentence is aimed to tap into your conscious and unconscious mind to motivate you, to challenge you, to push you to reach your full potential in life.

We all have negative and unhealthy thoughts about ourselves and how we live our lives at times, which is completely normal, affirmations when spoken or chanted to ourselves have the power to change the way think and act in our lives in a positive way, they can change our emotions, alter our behaviours and reassess our beliefs.

The benefits of Affirmations are endless, they have helped a multitude of people all over the world achieve great things, but more importantly, they can help you make positive changes in your life.

Affirmations have the power to motivate you to act on certain things, help you to concentrate on achieving your goals in life, give you the power to change your negative thinking patterns and replace them with positive thinking patterns, assist you in accessing a new belief system, but above all, affirmations can reaffirm the positivity back into your life and help regain or increase your self-confidence.

So we need to do the right things and set up the right conditions if we’re going to change. Let your self relax and let go.
