Episode 17: What is a Silent Retreat, Why Did I Go, and What Happened?

Episode 17: What is a Silent Retreat, Why Did I Go, and What Happened?

I'm back from a time away. Alone and in silence.  Hands down, I will continue to make time to get away to silence and solitude for the rest of my life.

I was first introduced to this concept by Alan Fadling, author of The Unhurried Leader. As a Christian I was well aware of the spiritual practices of prayer, worship, fasting, and reading God's word, but after this book I was so intrigued what extended time in stillness would do for my very busy soul.

I set out on my first silent retreat in October 2020 and just returned from my second one today. Meeting with God in this way is unlike anything else I've experienced. It's not all rainbows either. It's raw. It's messy. It's real.

I cannot wait to share with you what this experience was like and what it could be like for you! What if you got away? What if for 3-4 days you allowed a moment to reconnect with yourself and Jesus. Is that thrilling to you? Is it intimidating?

There was a time in my life when I thought this would be impossible. Now it's essential to my health and care.

Are you curious where I stayed? How I structured my days? The books I read? DM me and I'd love to share more! See my instagram and facebook pages below.

Episode 16: Unleashing Your Potential: An Insider's Guide to the OBM Opportunity for Introverted Entrepreneurs

Do you consider yourself a “Jill-of-all-trades,” experienced in many areas of business? Do you love taking someone's vision and helping it come to pass? Have you thought about starting your own business, but feel you lack that charismatic extroverted voice? You my friend still have an opportunity to be your own boss and run a successful business!

Enter the OBM opportunity. OBM stands for Online Business Manager and it’s the perfect fit for women who prefer to work behind the scenes while executing as an integrator (the person who gets stuff done). On today’s show, I have the privilege of interviewing Ashley Connell, Founder of the Prowess Project, certifying OBMs to provide business consultants and coaches the support they need online so they can scale.

We explore how this role can be the perfect fit for that introverted entrepreneur who wants to focus on what they do best while leaving the big picture stuff to the natural visionary (typically coaches and consultants.)  We will hear from Ashley how many women have found success as online business managers and discuss the benefits and challenges of this innovative approach to business management.

Whether you're just starting out or looking to take your business to the next level, this podcast will give you a fresh perspective on the potential of the online business manager opportunity.
