The Benefits of a Quarterly Cleanse - Episode 55

The Benefits of a Quarterly Cleanse - Episode 55

Carla and David discuss the health benefits of a quarterly cleanse.  Some people refer to this as a detox.  Either way, you can get some health benefits from doing this once a quarter.  There are probably as many cleanses/detoxes out there as there are diets.  Some of you have tried our 7-day detox, and you’ll find it’s very effective at removing inflammation and reducing your pain.  That’s super effective, and I highly recommend it.  But the 7-day detox isn't enough if your hair analysis shows you’ve got a fungus, parasite, virus, toxins, or mold/spores.  You might be surprised, but 80 % of the clients I see have one of these environmental stressors, which are more common than you might think.  I’ve since learned that we’re exposed to many of these through chemicals in our personal hygiene products, food, water, pans, etc.  It’s everywhere, so we must take a stronger approach to rid ourselves of them.  I recommend a cleanse that helps the body’s peristaltic action by loosening embedded and impacted matter, helping your body to release toxins and build up. It gently works to remove the fungus, parasites, mold/spores, and anything else that shouldn’t be residing in your colon.  We currently recommend a product called Super CleansR that can be found on our website.  Besides the fact that it seems to work for my clients, I really like the list of ingredients. It has black walnut hull, marshmallow root, clove, wormwood, amalaki, cascara sagrada bark, and senna leaf.

Vitamin C and the Health Benefits of Taking the Right Amount: Episode 54

Vitamin C and the Health Benefits of Taking the Right Amount: Episode 54

Today we will talk about Tip #54, the health benefits of the right amount of vitamin C.  This is another important vitamin that I see as deficient in several of my clients.  Before I had the hair analysis to work with, I would have to count on symptoms manifesting themselves to know if someone was deficient; the obvious one is a poor immune system (they would get a lot of colds, etc.), or have dry, damaged skin, bruise easily, or it could be slow healing wounds or maybe painful joints. There are actually lots of signs of low vitamin C, and now we can look at their report to see if a client needs to supplement with it.

Vitamin C is a nutrient your body needs to form blood vessels, cartilage, muscle, and collagen in bones.  It’s an antioxidant that helps protect your cells against the effects of free radicals, which play a role in heart disease, cancer, and other diseases.  It also helps your body absorb and store iron.  Your body doesn’t produce vitamin C, so you must get it from your diet.

The Value of Getting a Hair Analysis Done to Optimize Your Health: Episode 53

The Value of Getting a Hair Analysis Done to Optimize Your Health: Episode 53

We often get asked why we started doing hair analysis at More Than Healthy.  As I’ve spent the last few years coaching individuals on how to overcome their health challenges, there’s been one area that can take the longest for us to solve: it was becoming difficult to recommend the right vitamins and minerals when there aren’t always symptoms that tell you what’s going on in there, And most blood work isn’t thorough enough to tell me what their body is deficient in.

We’ve been working hard on improving David's health for six years.  Removing sugar, gluten, and dairy was challenging, and we were seeing great results.  He had bloodwork done at least twice a year and watched all his numbers continue to improve.  But he still had a leaky gut.  It wasn’t until he did a hair analysis that we discovered he had a parasite.  We don’t know where he picked it up, but the epigenetics showed it was there.  Now, so many things make more sense.  He still lacked some vitamins and minerals even though he was eating the foods and taking supplements. Until he got rid of the parasite, his body couldn't assimilate all the vitamins and minerals from my food.  No doctor or bloodwork in six years ever told him that.  None ever looked for it, but we need to look for it in today's environment. We’re getting parasites from water and foods we digest.  Most times, our bodies can handle it, but when it can’t, we need some help.
