Griffin Donovan is a 22-year-old Lift Operator hailing from Springfield, Massachusets. A daredevil at heart, Daddy Donovan, as the locals refer to him, is part of a group of high-altitude cliff jumpers on the east coast, high altitude being 40-90 feet. Coming in from Atlanta at 6 feet, 8 inches, 110 pounds, Hartwell Abbot Shaw is a naturally gifted snowboarder, creative business owner, and human fart volcano. He also has one of the most positive vibes of any person I've met in my 28 years and I'm stoked to have him as a friend.

Parker Colleen Trosper is a ski instructor hailing from Fairbanks, Alaska. He is my roommate that comes in between 2 and 4 every morning, regardless of early-morning shifts. Also, he contributes anywhere from 33-95% of the horrendous odor of sweaty socks and dead rodents that plagues our room. Parker enjoys cold beer, keeping a sub-500 record at the apartment pool table, and attending Latin Night at the local watering hole.

Jacob Cotner is a 19-year-old lift operator from Atlanta, Georgia. He came here to shred pow and learn somewhere in the range of 10 to 20 Spanish phrases that will garner him enough street cred to, one day, own and operate his very own hybrid snowboard/break dance/pastry shop, Sin Duda.

It seems like it’s been a lifetime since our last podcast. In the last 10 days, we began to take on water, lost our deckhand, saw the SS Ric Flair sink to the bottom of the ocean, and saw ourselves stranded in Raleigh, North Carolina. After an incredible 5 weeks of travel, the universe decided to take a steamer on our chests, effectively ending the trip. Tune in to catch the chaos that was the last 10 days of the SS Ric Flair.

The theme of the day is jerseys is patriotism. The crew finds ourselves in the nation’s capital on the 19th anniversary of the 2001 terrorist attacks that rocked the nation. The theme of the day is jerseys. Between Patrick Mahomes, the Cardinals, and Will’s high school alma mater, there’s a plethora of representation. We are coming off the most amazing sunrise that we’ve ever witnessed at Cadillac Mountain, the first point of sunrise in the US. It was a breath of fresh air that we all needed, especially before running into a slight disaster only a few days later!

The theme of the day is Jessica Simpson from Dukes of Hazzard, aka, we tied our shirts in a knot to look real fine. The date today is August 31st, 2020, and here we sit in Yarmouth, Maine. We were invited to stay with the Haags for the weekend, the family of a girl that I met in Nepal last year, and have had an absolutely incredible experience. In fact, the entire state of Maine has been very kind to the boys and me, but it’s a well-kept secret that we just don’t want to share!

ONA30: West Virginia, Mountain Momma

The date is August 17th, and the boys just spent the last 3 days in the hills of West Virginia with no service. From underground in the Seneca Caverns to the highest point in the state, Spruce Knob, we are taking in every moment for what it’s worth. After a month of planning and work, Will Markway and I took off for our epic RV trip. at the time of this recording, we are in Springfield, Illinois, my hometown. Today, we enjoyed some time with my family and a good ole fashion hamburger horseshoe. Tomorrow, we will head north to Chicago before picking up Jack in Toledo. Stay tuned!

Out ‘N About is hitting the road on August 8th. We’re taking my 1992 Fleetwood Flair RV up to Maine, down the East Coast, and back. 60 days. 8500 miles.
