    Out 'N About

Out 'N About is a podcast dedicated to promoting open-minded conversation consisting of varying opinions. Sandy and I have traveled all over the world, living in the slums of Mumbai and South America, all the way to one of the richest parts of the US. We have been able to gain a unique perspective on how the world works. It is very apparent that in today's world, everyone is looking to be offended by any differing opinion from their own. Our hope is to show the world that you can be open-minded to different views of the world without being offended. We are here to entertain and inform, so keep an open mind and enjoy!

Swetha Newcomb is an incredibly gifted private chef, providing luxurious home-cooked meals to upscale residents in the Kansas City area. She went through the traditional culinary school route of working in a restaurant for 3 years when she finally decided that she had had enough and went out on her own. She makes the trip back to India once every other year and has seen plenty more of the world through her travels!

EP23: Sam Mcreynolds - George Floyd, Hong Kong, and Zion Williamson

Professionally, Sam Mcreynolds is a gifted audio engineer, but before that, he is a human with feelings and emotions. With so much going on in the world, whether it be the murder of George Floyd, the eventual siege of Hong Kong by the CCP, or the pending Zion Williamson lawsuit, Sam has strong opinions that he has no problem sharing. Sam has stayed very vocal and outspoken on social issues for most of his life and believes that his voice can be one to help support change.

EP22: Max Turner - No Stress Midwest

EP22: Max Turner - No Stress Midwest

Bryan Maxwell Turner is a former semi-professional soccer player and owner/operator of the lifestyle brand/soccer training program, No Stress Midwest. Max, as many people call him, finished a contract for a large engineering firm, and decided that he was tired of working towards someone else’s dream. He made the decision that he would rather work 80 hours per week towards his own dream than 40 hours per week for someone else’s. We met on a train to Chicago, where Max laid out his vision for his company, and low and behold, 18 months later, he is absolutely thriving!

EP21: Dan Geist - The Traveled Educator

EP21: Dan Geist - The Traveled Educator

Dan Geist just got done teaching his first year of middle school World History at a private school in the Kansas City area. Before that he graduated with a degree in Secondary Education from Kansas State University, in which time he spent a semester studying in Prague and traveling around Europe. Between us, we have touched a large portion of 3 continents outside of North America, and whether it was from our travels or Dan’s year of teaching, we noticed the same glaring truth. From elementary school all the way through university, the US education system is flawed in many ways that leave our youth stressed, in debt, and less equipped for the real world than ever before!

EP19: Brandon Haggard - Perspective is Power

EP19: Brandon Haggard - Perspective is Power

Brandon Haggard spent 2 years living and working in Kolkata, India after he graduated from Kansas State University. Before he went out there, he thought what many young Americans think, that he had the world figured out and that his shit didn’t stink. Immersing yourself in a culture that is so defined by its community after spending your entire life in a culture that is so defined by individuality will come with its resistance. After about 6 months in India, Brandon was able to gain some perspective that would teach him one of life’s greatest lessons: different is not wrong.

    EP15: Dawson Gurley - BigDawsTV

Dawson Gurley is a famous YouTuber, running the incredibly successful channel, BigDawsTV. You may also know him as the infamous Klay Thompson alter ego, Thay Klompson. However, Dawson didn’t always know that he was meant for YouTube fame. Coming out of high school in Olathe, Kansas, Dawson missed the deadline to sign up for a fraternity with all of his buddies at KU, and ultimately decided to go a different route. Little did he know, that would be one of the greatest things that could have ever happened to him.

After failing out of community college, Dawson decided to move out to Arizona to start his rap career. When that didn’t go as planned, he decided to finish his Associate’s degree with the hope of transferring to Arizona State. That was until he woke up to one of his videos on Good Morning America, and from there he knew that his future awaited him on YouTube. Since then, he has grown to new heights every year, even pretending to be a Cuban named “Nico” in one of his videos. So basically, I am famous af.

ONA13: Nemo Douglass - Money to Marijuana

Nemo Douglass is a 27-year-old investor and entrepreneur. After getting kicked out of Arizona State, Nemo created a social app, and while marketing this app, he found his way into Forex investing. In less than a year, Nemo created his own online course that taught investors how to trade in the international currency market. Nemo went on to travel all over the world, immersing himself in a variety of different cultures, and that’s how he landed in Medellin, Colombia. Over a year later, Nemo still resides in Colombia with his girlfriend and has recently purchased his very own cannabis farm, looking to take advantage of the looming global legalization of marijuana.

From Olathe, Kansas to Colombia, Nemo has been able to gain some very unique and valuable life experience. His journey has taught him to assimilate into different cultures, make connections, and run a successful business. Pay close attention to this one, as it is full of great advice from someone who is absolutely kicking life’s ass. Enjoy!

    EP12: Kim Jong-wuuuuuh?

What do Kim Jong-un and I have in common? Well, besides our shared love for Ryan Reynolds and all things Paul Simon, we can both eat like complete assholes. Kim’s love for junk food has landed him in some hot water, putting the future of his country further into the realm of the unknown. Mine has landed me on the toilet about 3 times a day since I broke my one-month carnivore diet, which is only appropriate because 2020 has found itself in the shitter so far.

    • Information, and porn, are just pouring out of North Korea
    • Psychopaths can simultaneously be great leaders
    • So far, 2020 is sitting in the red for mankind
    • The global expansion of the NBA into Asia and Africa
    • What’s it going to take for the world to go back to normal?
    • From protests to legal battles, we Americans sure do love our “freedoms”
    • Self-worry has replaced the coming togetherness that we thought would happen
    • You’d be surprised at the jobs that are absolutely essential
    • Reminiscing back on our days as some stoney bologna Toms

    EP11: Quiplash - Zoom Style

In times like these, it’s real easy to sit on the couch and watch Netflix all day, one hand in your pants while using the other to shove an entire sleeve of cookies down your throat. Just because you can’t leave your domicile doesn’t mean you can’t still be social. I’m sure you’ve all seen “virtual happy hours” on social media, but here at Out ‘N About, we like to take it up a notch. That’s why we assembled the crew to play a raunchy game of Quiplash, Zoom style. Warning, if you have soft ears, this one is going to sting.

    EP10: R.I.P. BBD

    EP10: R.I.P. BBD

With all the ruckus that this virus is causing, it’s easy to forget that there is so much more happening that is being swept under the rug. That’s why today, Sandy and I have chosen to take on the world and some of its issues. From the dispute in the South China Sea to Zoom happy hours, we break down what’s going on and where we might be headed. One thing that we as earth people can agree on, however, is R.I.P. BBD.

In this episode, we break down…

    • An update on day 21 on my 30-day carnivore diet
    • Korea is doing a great job of controlling the spread
    • How could China have possibly capped this thing under 100,000 people?
    • Diving into the territorial dispute in the South China Sea
    • The East China Sea of Japan? I have no idea
    • Taiwan is not a part of China, but that’s just not the way the world sees it
    • It’s the way that just about every large civilization has been built
    • Taiwanese is not only hard to learn but spreads much farther than you think
    • Depending on where you are, your pandemic experience is drastically different
    • Global logistics will change forever when this pandemic ends
    • Blitzkrieg Syndrome, we made the name but not the meaning
    • From Zoom happy hours to workout challenges, people have too much time
    • BBD is coming for you, so keep your eyes open

    EP09: Trevor Moy

    EP09: Trevor Moy

Thinking about hopping on a plane and going on vacation? If you live under a rock, are a Raiders fan, or just don’t use the internet, then your answer to that question is probably yes. Well, my guest today, Trevor Moy, is a data analyst for American Airlines, and he’s here to tell you why right now is probably not a great time to head for the airport. The world is clearly in a state of panic, both socially and economically, but with so many countries shutting down their borders to any outsiders, no one has felt it more than the airline industry. So, unpack those bags, kick back, and grab your “meds” because this one is full of some great information!

In this episode, we break down…

    • Trevor and I have a long history together, including travel and racial profiling
    • How airlines are predicting future staffing needs during the virus
    • The airlines are a necessity no matter what happens
    • At what point are airports going to require  protective gear on everyone
    • A timeline of the shutdowns that airlines have slowly enabled
    • This thing is changing so many travel plans all around the world
    • Options for people that have already bought plane tickets
    • Events that have been canceled the definitely should have been canceled
    • The important numbers that they do not push on the news
    • Should we be expecting sports to come back this year?

EP08: Fasting and The Carnivore Diet

EP08: Fasting and The Carnivore Diet

With seemingly the entire world going into lockdown, the day-to-day for so many people has already changed drastically. We are all presented with a choice: either you can use this time to be lazy, eat like shit, and wait it out, or you can choose to be productive, develop healthy habits, and learn more about yourself. Sandy and I have chosen option number 2, trying a 5-day fast and a 30-day carnivore diet between the two of us for a variety of reasons. We have made the choice to pick up new hobbies and dive headfirst into them while we have the time. So, which one will you choose? The choice is yours.

In this episode, we break down…

    • New conspiracy theory about the origin of the virus
    • The motivating factors for Austin’s 5-day water fast
    • A day-by-day breakdown of Austin’s energy levels through the fast
    • Breaking the fast is not an explosion of calories
    • Here’s how the first 12 days of the carnivore diet have gone
    • 2 ways that people are going to come out of this whole mess
    • Use this time at home to monetize your hobbies
    • Maintaining your fitness vs. trying to play catchup
    • What in the hell are we going to do about all of our sports?
