    Schizophrenic Music

Schizophrenic Music in more than just a podcast, it's a casual conversation between 2 passionate music fans that illustrates how music makes their world a better place to live in. There is no pretense, we like what we like and we absolutely love to talk about it. Concerts, new album releases, what we listened to on the way to work...you name it. If it involves the music we love (or even hate) we'll share it with the world if they're willing to listen.

Ep. 331 - I'm Not Too Old For Concerts & I'm Totally Cool Going Alone!

This week we take inspiration from a recent discussion on our Facebook Group.  There seems to be a perception that as we get older, we're less likely to attend live shows.  In fact, some people simply stop going to concerts once they reach a certain age.  Why is that?  While we don't fall into that camp, we would love to hear from those who do.  So, what do you think?

Ep. 329 - The Rams Won & So Did Hip-Hop!

Ep. 329 - The Rams Won & So Did Hip-Hop!

Hip-hop took center stage last Sunday night and ushered in a new era of sorts.  It's hard to believe it took this long when really you think about it.  While the reviews were largely favorable, and we agree with the majority,  not everyone liked what they saw.  And that's cool too.  That's the beauty of music really, everything isn't going to appeal to everyone, but everyone should be open to anything.  At least that's how we feel.  What do you think?

Ep. 323 - Breaking Out Of Your Comfort Zone

Ep. 323 - Breaking Out Of Your Comfort Zone

Comfort zones can be found in so many facets of our lives.  From the food we eat to the movies we watch, much of what we take in resides in our own personal comfort zones.  Music is certainly no exception, especially with such a wide variety of options available to us, but it seems most people don't explore these options.  Why is that?  Could it be they simply don't have time to seek things out?  The musical landscape is as enormous as it's ever been and exploring an uncharted territory can be quite the experience.  So, if you're feeling adventurous, maybe try branching out a bit.  You might just enjoy it!

Ep. 321 - Musical Sweet Spots / Kryptonite

Sometimes you hear something and there's an immediate connection.  It could be the style of music, a particular instrument or maybe the singer's voice simply puts you at ease.  You're fully invested!  Then there's the flip side, where you cringe at the very thought of a song or a band.  Hence the topic of our discussion today!

So, what's your musical sweet spot & what's your kryptonite?

Ep. 319 - Is Image Everything?

Ep. 319 - Is Image Everything?

Is image everything?  That was certainly the case for heavy metal & hard rock bands back in the 80's, but the music scene quickly shifted in a different direction in the early 90's.  Grunge was king and anything glamorous or flamboyant in appearance was no longer cool; quite the opposite actually.  To this day there is a stigma attached to bands associated with the glam metal scene, even if they weren't technically glam metal.  But if you stripped away the visual and simply listened to the music being played, would you hear it differently?  We would venture to say yes, but we're admittedly biased since we grew up loving heavy metal.  So, what do you think?  Can you separate the image from the music?
