Today's message reflects the Wise Men in the Christmas Story and was first broadcast after Christmas this year. Nevertheless, the message is as timeless now as any age.  What do we try to ignore from our past? We all have something we would rather not bring up or dwell on. As we hear in today's message, Jesus' sacrifice is for each of us to cleanse our conscience, pay for all our sins, and to wipe out all our transgressions. We are set free in Christ to serve with a clean heart for good works that He has already set before us. This process includes the transforming of our minds, hearts, and spirits. There's an "aroma" about Christians that reflect His will to those in Jesus.

This week, we address our understanding of what real riches look like.; when we're truly free and loved in Christ's mercy and grace. Have you ever been done with your own sin? Fed up? Especially, sin you keep repeating? What do you do with your own dumb mistakes? Today, we hear what Jesus tells us what is necessary to be truly free from sin. No longer a slave to our own blind way of acting or thoughtless mistakes, Jesus discusses and shows us forgiveness. In Romans 7:14, Paul admits his humanity of mistakes, his errors of living in foolish sin, yet he points to Jesus alone as the only solution for his salvation in Christ.

Looking back at your whole life, can you honestly say you've never sinned, not even once? James 2 tells us that whoever keeps the whole law but fails at one point has become guilty of all of it. The Bible is clear: if you have sinned just once, you are guilty of all sin. Romans 3 tells us that all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God. If we are honest with ourselves, we all know that we are not perfect, so how could we ever stand before a holy God when that day comes? But there is hope! Listen to Pastor Laurian today as he explains how destructive sin is but how faith in Jesus Christ overcomes that sin and makes us right with the eternal God.

When our lives are threatened we can feel so helpless and out of control. What do we do when our lives are out of control? What does Jesus say? Today, we find faith in God and Christ provides the solution for overcoming fear. We learn in His Word that faith serves us in the easiest and the hardest of times. Jesus addresses our fear first and even as He's dealing with the root cause of it. Yes, our own doubting reduces us, but not Jesus. Our fears can be turned into success and real accomplishment. Jesus says 'Don't focus on fear' instead trust in Him alone for even greater things than we can imagine!
