My Best Church Life - Week 3 - St. Peter - Pastor Michael Ewart

My Best Church Life - Week 3 - St. Peter - Pastor Michael Ewart

Every Christian living their best church life has a strong church community. In order to avoid being an anonymous member who slips through the cracks at a larger church, God calls us to connect with a smaller group of others who carry out the “one anothers” of the Scriptures. As many of us have experienced, a small group can bless us with our biggest church blessings.

Break through: What lies are keeping you from healing?

Break through: What lies are keeping you from healing?

Have you ever felt bound in lies and shame, just like the bleeding woman in Mark 5?

Embark on a personal journey where I share my own experiences of healing and transformation that took me over 40 years, revealing how Jesus is committed to healing us, providing care, comfort, and connection.

In the second part of the journey, we also look into how the bleeding woman’s physical healing led to her spiritual liberation. Drawing parallels with our own struggles, let's take a moment to reflect on how our beliefs could be holding us back.

Allow me, to offer you some approaches to present these beliefs to Jesus and find true liberation. And if you need additional support, our spiritual coaches are here to guide you through.

Be prepared for an intriguing episode that confronts the deepest parts of our existence, and find the courage to open up to the transformative healing power of Jesus.

Start overcoming porn, masturbation, and other unwanted sexual behaviors, by rewriting how you respond to desire, temptation, mess-ups, and shame.

    Let's keep the conversation going!

Creating Impactful Small Group Experiences: A Practical Guide

Are you longing for a thriving small group, one that is engaging, fulfilling, and brings about spiritual growth? Then strap in as we take you on a journey to uncover the secret behind successful small groups in today's episode. Using the acronym 'S.C.A.L.E.' as a guide, we delve into the five crucial foundations - Structure, Community, Accountability, Leadership, and Engagement. We draw on my college experiences, illustrating how these principles were instrumental, from setting up meeting times to fostering a culture of accountability and engagement.

As we navigate through the episode, we underline the vital role communication plays within small groups. Sharing struggles, establishing a commitment contract, respecting the group’s structure, and maintaining confidentiality are all paramount for a small group to function smoothly. We also explore the significance of creating an inviting group environment, drawing comparisons from various coffee shops, to demonstrate how small details, such as room setup, food, and music, can shape group dynamics.

In conclusion, we offer a heartfelt prayer, with a desire for your love to deepen and your understanding to grow. We aim to equip, encourage, and inspire you to lead effectively, hoping that you can discern what is best and remain blameless and pure, filled with the righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ. Excellent for group leaders, potential group leaders, and pastors overseeing small groups, this episode is a treasure trove of insights making your small group a nurturing and engaging experience. Episode LXVII - Restored Order 66
I started a new job with the Archdiocese of Las Vegas! Woohoo! Neil and I talk about my new job, then the state of Youth Ministry and Confirmation and we make arguments for and against restored order 66 (lol, you’ll get it if you listen). This led us to talking about the importance of Youth Group as growth in discipleship. The conversation turns to formation for adults and young adult formation in the diocese and turning the emphasis to small group communities that lead to events rather than events to form small groups and how this might actually encourage continual growth. Worship

    Worship

The church that does not operate under the biblical theology of worship is in danger of failing to give God glory and failing to offer worship that is pleasing to Him.  Contrary to popular belief, worship does not begin and end with the singing portion of our church services. Worship is also not limited to bowing in reverence before God. To begin with, worship is determined by God Himself.

    • Jesus prays for the 12 disciples. (6-19)
    • Jesus prays for all believers. (20-26)

    Jesus intercedes for us.

    • Faith/faithfulness (11-16)
    • Sanctification/consecration (17-19)God’s glory.

    • Hebrews 4:14-16 - "Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need."
    • Hebrews 10:19-23 - "Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful"

    NEXT STEPS

    • Confess your need for an advocate.

    Life-Changing Relationships | Circles (Part 4) | Stephen Feith

    Life-Changing Relationships | Circles (Part 4) | Stephen Feith

Have you ever seen the Disney movie "Finding Nemo?" "Finding Nemo" came out 20 years ago. For those who haven't seen the film in 20 years, it's about an overprotective dad clownfish whose son gets taken from him. The dad goes on the adventure of a lifetime across the ocean, looking for a son.

Meanwhile, the lost son finds himself at a dentist's office in Sydney, Australia. The other fish freak out when Nemo, the little fish, is thrown into the fish tank at the dentist's office for the first time. Their home is not sterile anymore. The other fish scrub everything, including Nemo, because their space has been tainted by the ocean. After they clean everything up, they're actually happy Nemo's there. They're excited they've got a new friend in the tank.

This scene is fascinating. How often is it that when someone comes into our "circle," we initially freak out? Think about the Christian Church. We have buildings, and they're lovely. Then someone new comes in, and we know we should be excited because we read in the Bible that Jesus is excited. But everything is set up the way it should be to us, and new people mess that up...

So we try cleaning the outsider up politically or religiously, or socially. We've got to ensure that they don't say bad words. We've got to verify they're listening to the right music and only watch the TV shows we watch. But that's not how Jesus lived.

Jesus is the God of the ocean. Jesus didn't live in a sanitized tank. Jesus went to where all the people were, where life happens. He lived among them, and he did life with them. That is the example we are supposed to follow. And now it's our turn. As we follow Jesus, we're gonna see other people find and follow Jesus. It won't be because any of us are super saints. It'll be because we keep our "circles" open.

Do that however long it takes. However long you have to be a friend. And even if they don't choose to follow Jesus at any point, love them anyway because Jesus loves them until the end, even if they reject him.

That's the most challenging part of this study. I believe God has put people in and around our lives that he loves deeply and dearly and died for. You don't have to be a super extrovert. There are many people in our lives whom Jesus loves and has been working through. Our task is to keep our "circles" open.

Think about your family "circle." It's always open. Somebody has
