    • denying reality.

I round off the episode with 3 quick-fire tips on how to build your sense of peace and equanimity:

    1. bring awareness to your thoughts

    50. Worry Free Living

    50. Worry Free Living

On this show, I discuss some of the way in which we can help ourselves to stop worrying.

According to one study, 59% of adults reported a sense of experiencing daily worry in 2020. So, if you find yourself worrying about something, and on a daily basis, know that you are most definitely not alone.

A little bit of worrying is no bad thing, as it allows us to think through, strategize and prepare for a deadline, or presentation, or to find a solution to a conflict. However, worry becomes a problem when it is excessive in nature, or when it is consuming of all of our other thoughts. Worrying becomes a problem when the thoughts you are having are keeping you up at night, or you are having difficulties in concentrating, eating, or sleeping.

Some of the ways in which we can stop worrying include:

    1. Identifying the exact nature of your worry. My job is making me feel worried is not enough. Identify exactly what about your job is making you worry – a deadline, a difficult colleague, or something else?
    2. Become aware of your own thoughts and recognize triggers. This is best done when you are feeling calm. There is a simple question that you can ask yourself around this, at a time when you are not being triggered by something, and at a time when you are able to look at the causes of your worry in a more objective way. Ask yourself: “What situations, thoughts, or feelings spark my worry and anxiety?”
    3. Embracing uncertainty. One way to embrace uncertainty about the future, after receiving bad news, for example, the loss of a job, is to take action, and to take control of the situations that are within your control. With the example of a job loss, what are the things that you can control? You can control the number of new jobs you apply for. You can control what your resume says by updating it and adding your new skills and updated experiences to it. You can control the networking events that you attend that are industry relevant to let your network know you are looking for exciting new opportunities.
    4. Use a worry tree. You use a nice visual to help you work through the process of identifying the worry and seeing if there is anything you can do about it. Check out this link for the visual: https://camhsprofessionals.co.uk/2020/10/10/understanding-the-worry-tree -🌍

    46. Face Your Fears And Do It Anyway: Tools And Techniques For Facing Your Fears

    46. Face Your Fears And Do It Anyway: Tools And Techniques For Facing Your Fears

As we get into the swing of the week, there may be a project, assignment, or other task that you have been asked to complete. Perhaps it’s different to projects you have previously undertaken? Maybe you’re a bit intimidated, even scared by the magnitude of the task?

I have just the thing for you! On today’s show, I talk to you about facing your fears around things like tasks and projects that may cause you to feel overwhelmed or afraid, and to do it anyway. Drawing on my own experiences of exactly this feeling, I take you through some tools and techniques on facing your fears, and going ahead with what you need or want to do.

I approach this topic from the perspective of facing fears through reframing your thoughts; finding the “why”, the purpose in doing the thing that is scaring you; facing fears by having SMART goals, and how you can use SMART goals to get round almost any fear that you may have on starting a new project, moving jobs, or any other life choices or dilemmas that you may be facing.

I will round off by talking about how not to face your fears: in other words, the importance of not avoiding, burying or numbing through your fears when they are causing you to have anxiety.

We discuss some really juicy topics. These include:

    1. The Divine Feminine and the Divine Masculine, what these energies are, what they mean, and why we should welcome them into our lives, whether you are a woman or a man.
    2. Negative self-talk, which I talk about a lot on my other shows. Listen to us discuss some of the ways in which we can become aware of our own negative internal mind chatter, and overcome it.
    3. Sex and sexuality, where we discuss why we need to be so conscious when we are exchanging such deep and intimate emotions and energy with another person.
    4. Emotional intelligence and AI, and the impacts of AI on intellectual intelligence and emotional intelligence. Listen to us talk about why we are at a crux in time where if we don’t develop our abilities to connect properly and deeply with each other, we run the risk of ending up being emotionally connected to AI in its future iterations.

    38. Signs of Low Self-Esteem And What To Do About It

    38. Signs of Low Self-Esteem And What To Do About It

On today’s show, I delve a little deeper into the topic area of overcoming challenges, which is something that came up in the interviews I conducted on last week’s show. Today, I talk more about overcoming difficulties in your lives from the perspective of having self-compassion when you are experiencing a challenging time, and from the viewpoint of not forgetting that you are not alone – all of us face tough challenges at some point in our lives.

I then discuss self-esteem – what it is, and how to identify whether you might have low self-esteem. I focus in on two of the ways in which low self-esteem can manifest – needing external approval in order to feel loved, and having negative self-talk.

Finally, I set out some solutions and ways in which you can raise your self-esteem, and I take you through a breath work meditation practice, which you can do at any time, and anywhere. I set out why focusing in on your breath can help you to raise your self-esteem.
