    Slam the Gavel welcomes Dr. Robert Bauchwitz. Dr. Bauchwitz is a consultant in evidentiary audit and a university lecturer in biology. He has a long background as a scientist handling data and evaluating evidence. In addition, he has been trained and certified as a fraud examiner. He has also been the plaintiff-relator in a federal False Claims Act science fraud case. Dr. Bauchwitz has also personally  experienced the serious misconduct that seems to run rampant in the U.S. family courts today.
     Dr. Bauchwitz learned an important lesson in graduate school and that was that science was not always an ivory tower of discipline conducted by people devoted to the integrity of the data they were producing. However it was a "business," conducted by people who were self-centered, miserable and very willing to cheat to survive whilst making a large amount of money.
     This experience eventually led him to work with the federal government to try to recover grant funds, which had been obtained under false pretenses, based on fabricated and falsified data submitted by scientists at Cornell University and Thomas Jefferson University.
     During the federal case, Dr. Bauchwitz began his training as a fraud investigator, and just after the case, he also obtained training as a paralegal, specializing in litigation. Most importantly, his experience with the science fraud case led him in 2011 to start his  own fraud investigation firm, Amerandus Research. It was initially geared towards helping whistleblowers and their attorneys investigate their legal cases and keep their communications secure. But as time went on, he found that providing career rehabilitation services was also very important to whistleblowers.
     Although Dr. Bauchwitz never envisioned ending up in family court, it was through his more recent experience in that arena that he feels himself being transformed into a whistleblower again. Dr. Bauchwitz spoke of his own family court journey and what he and others are trying to do to improve the widely appreciated problems of corruption in the courts.

     Slam the Gavel podcast welcomes back Natalia Dalton. Natalia was last on the podcast Season 3; Episodes 26 and 144. Natalia gave updates on her case and discussed her child support enforcement hearing, where Judge Sotelo was willing to hear what had gone wrong, but Natalia's "public defender" told the judge that they can't fix her arrears, as it was in the Virginia laws. The judge listened to the "public defender."
     Natalia had done a FOIA request from the Child Support Enforcement Office, and they gave her very little information.  Natalia has proof that back in 2014, she was not at a hearing where the father gave the court her income and therefore the court gave her a figure she could never make and she was never full-time.
    Natalia hasn't seen her son in years, as the father makes it "difficult" when he picks supervisors and then declines them, so Natalia can't use them so she can see her son.  Her "public defender," told Natalia at this hearing to not tell the judge she has not seen her son and that they would take back some of the questions Natalia asked in Discovery. However, the father doesn't comply with the discovery, and the courts allow his erratic behavior especially when he asks the court to put her in jail for one year or pay $23,000.00 in arrears. The court tossed that aside and reduced part of her support, and gave her a restricted driver's license.
     Since when does a judge entertain a "public defender" telling him what the law is, when he was wanting to hear what this mother has to say? He also needs to know that the father is not allowing the mother contact with her son.

    Slam the Gavel welcomes Sean Keenan to the podcast. He is a husband and father of two teenage children living in Connecticut. His experience in family court is not unique, as PERJURY and FALSE ACCUSATIONS as well as EXTORTION in the form of LIFE - TIME ALIMONY are ACCEPTED; NO QUESTIONS ASKED.
     Sean's divorce case has been ongoing since he filed for divorce in 2010 and it is still a very active and contested case. Sean has suffered through false sexual abuse allegations made by the mother AFTER he filed for divorce as well as other false criminal charges made by the mother. However, Mother "recanted her accusations" at trial as they were contradictory and unsubstantiated by MULTIPLE DCF investigations with no accountability AT TAXPAYER EXPENSE, along with GAL, Sharon Dornfeld and her antics.
     The EXTORTION began when the judge AWARDED Sean's ex LIFE-TIME ALIMONY only after being married 3.5 years based on her STILL unsubstantiated claim that she had terminal "brain cancer" that has been ongoing for the last 20 years. She claims if she goes to work, she will get a headache.
     Sean has spent 12 years trying to protect the kids from their unfit and abusive mother, and the DCF report substantiated that the children had been seriously abused by their mother. But in 'Family Court,' judge, Judge Winslow, would not let DCF testify. Even though DCF took the case of abuse to Juvenile Court, it was shut down because the judge told the Juvenile Court judge to not hear it. DCF gave the kids to Sean.
    'Family Court' is still 100% backing the mother by a female judge. This judge has debilitated Sean and his family with PUNITIVE alimony, threatening mandated reunification  and EXCLUDING EVIDENCE of the mother's abuse. ALSO, the judge ruled that Sean doesn't need to know where the mother is, but still has to keep paying the ALIMONY.
      Sean encourages others to seek support from others and that people need moral support. Also parents should write letters to legislation and continue to write complaints not only to the judicial board but to the Bar in CT.

    Slam the Gavel welcomes back Emanuel Shetler to the podcast. Emanuel was last on the podcast Season 4; Episodes 17 and 117.  Emanuel had left the Amish culture back in 2018. That's the only thing he did and now he's PAYING FOR IT. He had wanted a better life and he had asked his wife to leave the Amish community with him however, she refused.  This started a chain of events in his life of harassment  and manipulation, deception and ultimately Parental Alienation from his five children.
     Today we discussed the educational level of Amish children. They are equivilently at a 3rd grade READING LEVEL EDUCATION, not the 8th grade READING LEVEL as they LEAD THE PUBLIC TO BELIEVE. Emanuel explained the SLAVE LABOR that starts at an early age for children. They are put into the AMISH WORKFORCE at the age of 8 to 9 years of age within this CULT. Emanuel stated that as soon as they can walk, they are put into working the farms and saw mills. Chores is a "different term" in the Amish world. "This is hard labor," Emanuel stated.
     Amish parents strive to keep the children in the Amish CULT, because the more kids the Amish have, when the kids work, the parents COLLECT ALL THE MONEY EARNED by their children without paying TAXES. That's why they have large families, like "retirement accounts." Emanuel figured that from the ages of 13 - 14 years of age to 21, he had earned "at the low end," approximately $250,000.00. Emanuel never saw a penny. Amish children HAVE NO RIGHTS. This is CHILD TRAFFICKING.
    Emanuel went on to say that the Amish treat their animals very badly. At the level the Amish treat their animals is how they treat their children AND one another, so animals are lowered to another level; if they can't MAKE MONEY, THEY ARE OF NO USE TO THEM. Emanuel went on to describe how the Amish PARTICIPATE in beastiality. Unfortunately, it is very commonplace within the Amish communities.
     He went on to explain that they keep members in this CULT by telling them that if they are questioning the church/CULT, "you were DEEMED to go to Hell. If this is questioned by a member, they are told, 'This is the way it's always been.'"

   Slam the Gavel welcomes back Connie Reguli to the podcast. Connie was last on Season 2; Episode 98 and Season 3; Episodes 63, 70, 77 and 89. Today we discussed the Family Rights and Responsibility Act that has passed through the Senate in Tennessee. If this bill passes it has the potential to sweep through this nation, stripping parents of their parental rights via teachers, CPS and/or Department of Health.
     Connie has served as an attorney for three decades throughout Tennessee and helped parents fighting for their rights and defending parents against their own government. Connie was retaliated against severely and the whole system turned against her, concocting a fake crime for strongly defending a parent. When attorneys stand up, they get BRUTALIZED.
     There were CPS bills that came up this year and Connie went in to speak against these bills, all got passed in the House and Senate. Within one of those bills was Reverse The Standard of Proof For Parents: that if a court found that child had been severely abused (terms used loosely), the child could not return to a parent unless the court excluded the parent by clear and convincing evidence  as a perpetrator, or any other person - grandmother or anybody. CONSTITUTIONAL VIOLATION.
    Within the  bill was that if  the state can put on proof by an expert that the child and the expert can reasonably "predict" that the child is going to suffer from a severe psychological event such as anxiety or depression then that is severe abuse, and the parent can't see the child. You can't predict that they are going to have injury in the future. Termination of a parent's rights should NEVER occur over MONEY.
      We discussed the bill (TN, 2024 SB2749) " Family Rights and Responsibilities Act."  It has already passed through the Senate Committee in TN. WHAT IS A PARENT?  Within  this Bill, is the way the state will define a parent. A parent is a biological, legal or adoptive parent OR an individual who has been granted decision-making authority over the child under state law. Here are parental rights: direct upbringing of the child, moral and religious training, make medical, gender and mental health decisions, to access medical records, educational records etc.. Even a non parent can make decisions for the child. They have defined decision making authority which is GRANTED BY THE STATE. We are damaging OUR rights, not ADDING to them. BAD NEWS. Also, ANY branch, agency or commission or instrumentality of the state government: so the literal reading of this is that a teacher can grant decision-making authority.......This is making our children a commodity. This will get through the House Committee

     Slam the Gavel welcomes back Angel Law to the podcast. She was last on Season 3; Episodes 107, 146 and 166.  Angel discussed the recent award of 21.3 Million in damages in a Colorado custody dispute that involved false child abuse allegations by the ex-husband (please see article by Chris Osher, https://gazette.com). However, there were no repercussions or accountability for the ex causing this mess. THIS IS AN IMPORTANT JURY VERDICT.  The court keeps claiming a parent is crazy, and the JURY GETS IT RIGHT, and family court is CRAZY. A man and a woman were accused of false allegations. However, the Mother and her fiancé were awarded damages but the FAMILY COURT NEVER GAVE  HER CHILDREN BACK. TYPICAL.
     Family court is an illegitimate court, JURY TRIALS WORK and BENCH TRIALS DO NOT WORK.   Many of the cases, the parents had spit custody, split their assets and the family court does not like this. The attorneys want to bill to eternity. The family court wants CONFLICT. This was an affluent family and the Family Court, and these people became TARGETS.
    One of the "players" was a COURT EXPERT  who was under investigation and has since been removed from being allowed to perform any CUSTODY EVALUATIONS in the state of Colorado. The corrupt family court is CONTINUING TO RELY  on the report in this matter despite this fact. Even though they "won" in civil court, SHE STILL DOES NOT HAVE HER CHILDREN BACK. This is lawsuit proves that this is a GENDERLESS crime against a parent. Whatever is UNJUST is what the family court will do. This corruption cost this mother a relationship with her children and a man was facing prison time based on false accusation. There was no recourse or consequence on the other party. Perjury and fraud: the family court loves it. Globally, the family court is a criminal enterprise. This case  is proof of how VILE the family court is.

Amy shared the updates to her case where Attorney Jay White, Head of DSS extorted $5,000.00 on February 22, 2024.  Judge Knuts held her in contempt (attorney fees) and ordered her to pay $5,000.00 within 30 minutes or go to JAIL. Rushing to go to the bank to pull out $5,000 and run back to the courthouse in such a short time limit is a bit MUCH. Amy has been suffering through Family Court for the last 15 years.
     Amy mentioned other cases  where Attorney Jay White has punished another victim so badly in family court, where days shortly  after, this person committed suicide. People also get punished when they go asking for HELP from CPS.  We also discussed a case where an inappropriate incident happened at Stonewall Jackson Youth Development Center where a correctional staff member strangled a minor at their Concord facility (WBTV 2-8-2024).

     Slam the Gavel welcomes Ulysses "Butch" Slaughter to the podcast. Ulysses is a veteran and is the target of a false allegation by his ex-wife when it all happened in August 2021. Everything happened quickly and talked about some of the red flags that happened two weeks prior to the eviction from his home. Being a journalist, Ulysses instinctively recorded his eviction. He didn't release the footage until late July of 2023.  This video went viral on TikTok and YouTube.

    Slam the Gavel welcomes Tanawah M. Downing to the podcast. Tanawah is a Chief Legal Strategist and Civil Rights Advocate. Being aware of people suffering and in need of help, Tanawah, after going through a divorce himself, recognized the need for laws to change. It has been eight years since he as seen or spoken to his children.
   We talked about the deprivation of rights under the color of law of parents.  The 13th Amendment explains very much what is wrong with the law in that the terms "slavery" and "prisoner" is synonymous with each other.  Parents are deprived of their rights every day by not only CPS but Judges as well.
     The We Shall Be Free Tour will begin once the case is docketed. However, the clerk of court at the U.S. Supreme Court is refusing to docket. This is obstruction of justice and a crime. The people in the U.S. need to hear the truth and understand that these are rights that are guaranteed and the moment you take a right from one, you take it from all and no longer a freedom. But only an illusion of freedom.
     Tanawah explained how this will be handled. When people are silent, they give their consent. People must speak up and speak out. When government is silent that is an indication of guilt. Once the clerk steps aside, this will be handed to the justices, the tour will be started. There will be press conferences  and rallies in every state Capitol and the tour will circle the whole country. This is the opportunity for people to tell their story.  People need to speak out on the egregious acts that were done to them and this gives them the opportunity to be heard.

   Slam the Gavel welcomes back Carl Roberts to the podcast. Carl was last on Season 5, Episodes 12 and 39. Carl Roberts is Founder of Colorado Resilience and SplitSmart.
    Carl is trying to bring solutions into the divorce/family court process where a case shouldn't drag out for years, but only 30 days. There are so many homicides and suicides that are perpetuated by the Family Court system as well as CPS. Carl shared his ideas on the screen (Slam the Gavel YouTube) that contain solutions. In doing presentations, Carl discussed his ideas and solutions and was met with  silence. The path to restoration, justice and family healing is what Carl has to offer people that are divorcing and it seems the judiciary/family law doesn't want any part of it. Because of lack of accountability, oversight and transparency the court system is in the state it is in.
     We discussed the weaponization of the system with people calling CPS for either good faith concerns, questionable caller intent and ill intent to gain advantage. False accusations ruin lives and there is no accountability. All professionals that police the family court in order to destroy families are there in order to get paid. We talked about how Parental Alienation is weaponized in order to gain custody, with no accountability.
     This is not a battle of the sexes. Carl discussed that today's Feminists, where there are a loud minority and silent majority, appear to hate the family unit. Female judges rule unfairly on female litigants as well as male judges ruling unfairly on male litigants. How is this fair. We discussed cases that are taking place in New York, North Carolina and Kentucky.  This comes down to the judiciary disregarding evidence without accountability. The system does not care.
     Bill encouraged, "get over yourself, whatever injustices have happened to you, go to the other gender just as easily. We have to get away from the battle of the sexes that serves nobody but the system. We have to start unifying."

       Andrew is also starting a social justice non-profit organization: Equal Protection Now! to help expose the truth about arbitration, via articles, litigation, podcasts, advocacy and a blockbuster documentary.  This has potential to be a Pulitzer Prize winning story.   And the mission, of Equal Protection Now!, is to get the FAIR Act enacted.  The Forced Arbitration Injustice Repeal Act. Andrew has been working on this litigation and advocacy for the FAIR Act, for well over six years.                                                                                                                                
       This pending landmark appeal is, for the most part, regarding judge/arbitral immunity and private contractual rights vs public rights, “unwaivable statutory rights, for the public benefit.” Also, interestingly enough, one of the main cases/authorities in this landmark appeal is an 1871, United States Supreme Court case, Bradly v. Fisher, regarding immunity, this is  a case from the murder of president Abraham Lincoln.    
    We discussed what attorneys do and how they treat their clients, and Andrew encouraged everyone to follow the money as well as in their own cases. He explained  47 USC Section 230 and how this has affected immunity on Social Media. Not a podcast to be missed as Andrew showed video clips regarding where the money goes, bad attorney behavior and in politics/judiciary, the issue is not what they say, it's what they are not saying.

   Slam the Gavel welcomes Kia Walker to the podcast. It all started out when her son, Tommy, and then girlfriend, Heather, were arrested and charged in connection with the murder of Heather's mother's in Bali, Indonesia.
     After they were arrested, two weeks later it was on the news that Heather was pregnant. Kia was shocked to learn that she would soon be a grandmother.  Heather gave birth to a baby girl and that's how the nightmare evolved. Kia soon found herself in the midst of a high profile case involving her granddaughter who was later brought from Indonesia to the United States.
     After the baby was born, Kia flew to Indonesia in March 17th of 2015 and spent a week to be with her granddaughter in the hospital and then her granddaughter was taken back to prison in Indonesia. Kia tried her best to bring the baby back to the U.S.  She soon learned quickly that grandparents do not have any rights. Her granddaughter was released from prison when she was 2 years-old and was then taken in by a foster mother who worked for the Indonesian police.
     While in foster care, she was regularly abused. As a 6 year-old, her granddaughter came to the U.S. in 2021. Kia thought this would be the perfect time to connect with her granddaughter, but the courts and DCFS had a plan of their own. Her granddaughter's lawyer Vanessa F., who also represented Heather. Unbeknownst to Kia, this lawyer was given Guardianship one day prior to the plane landing.
     Kia went to Cook County Probate Court trying to petition for Guardianship. But the Judge had changed her granddaughter's name, so she it was hard for Kia to find her in the system. Kia filed an appearance however, Guardianship was already established. Later Kia learned that her granddaughter was born, "a political pawn and rag-doll and now in America, a political pawn and rag-doll." There were five petitioners, couple of them never met her granddaughter. Kia sat in Guardianship court for two years hoping for an opportunity to get Guardianship to adopt her granddaughter, but that was not the Court's plan. Kia watched each petitioner get visitation temporary custody and  two others receive Guardianship. Kia got nothing; every once in a while a video call. Others were getting in-person visitation with her granddaughter and the grandmother gets nothing because money, power, privilege and politics stole her granddaughter. Now, her granddaughter is about to be adopted.
      Living a complete nightmare, the court system has completely failed her granddaughter and Kia. Kia is her granddaughter's only voice and uses TikTok to do so. Kia is her advocate, and has never given up on her granddaughter and encourages people to support children and grandparents in their efforts and to never give up.

     Slam the Gavel welcomes Jerry Nicholas to the podcast. From Chicago, IL Jerry has become an advocate for other parents who have had their children wrongfully removed.
     His two sets of twins were at school that morning in 1993, ages 5 and 6 thinking they would be protected at school. However, his children never got off the bus. Jerry and his wife called the police to report them missing. The police came to their home, forcing their way in to remove his other four children. He tried to report them missing. 
     Law enforcement seized his children without a search warrant on 7-27-1993. For a whole year, he didn't know where his children were. There was no paperwork until they made it into the Chicago Defender newspaper May 21st, 1994.  Apparently, an ANONYMOUS REPORTER called in a FALSE REPORT. There were NO allegations against Jerry in court. The DCFS reports did not match up. They never allowed Jerry to see his children AT ALL. In June of 1994, Jerry found out that DCFS changed the last names of his children from Nicholas to "Nicholus." Now he really couldn't find his children.
     The Cook County Department of Guardians Office  filed a lawsuit against DCFS on THE SAME DAY his children were removed : DCFS Shelter 810 West Montrose, "they take these children and put them there and they become victims of human sex trafficking, physical assault and psychiatric medicating," Jerry explained. There were bullet proof windows where no one walking by could hear the children scream. They were there for two days along with others. How could the Governor of Illinois think this was okay??
     A class action lawsuit was filed and a judge prohibited DCFS to take the children to the shelter, but it continued anyway. They didn't tell the public that the Nicholas children AKA "Nickolus" children were there.
      In 7-29-1993 DCFS took the children and others to Grant Hospital, that had some type of contract with them, again these children were taken there because they had been abused. There were bullet proof windows where no one walking by could hear the children scream. They made these children dysfunctional and sick via medicating them.
      Any child declared special needs, developmentally delayed and ADHD;  they drug them up to make them LOOK like that, Jerry explained.  It is unconstitutional to put them there without a court order. There was NO COURT ORDER to put his children there. Jerry didn't get a court order until SEPTEMBER 2013, by Juvenile Delinquency Division from former Judge Susan Fleming who presided over all cases from 1993 (it wasn't DCFS court in 1993)  to 2013.
      "Every child going in there was arrested by the Chicago Police Department, and that is aggravated kidnapping, a conspiracy," Jerry stated. "Under the RICO ACT it is FRAUD UPON THE COURT. They were frauding the state out of money by fraudulent means."
     Jerry recommends that a constitutional, civil-rights, litigation attorney to handle all these cases on a  file a class action basis to SUE DCF and Cook County Public Guardian Office for misrepresentation for children WRONGFULLY REMOVED from their parents.

      Slam the Gavel welcomes back Brian Vukadinovich to the podcast. Brian is the author of Motion for Justice: I Rest My Case and Rogues in Black Robes. Brian was last on the podcast Season 4, Episodes 69, 99 and 119 and Season 5, Episodes 13, 37 and 44.
     On our show today and he will discuss his pending federal court lawsuit against a very famous judge, Richard A. Posner, formerly of the United States Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit in Chicago where he was on the bench for almost 36 years before he retired in 2017 over disagreements with the other judges about how PRO SE'S were being TREATED in the Seventh Circuit.  He read about how Brian represented himself in a five day federal civil rights jury trial in 2016 and how Brian beat a team of corporation lawyers at the five day jury trial where he was awarded more than $200,000 by the jury for the school corporation's violation of his due process rights. When they terminated his employment as a teacher, and in 2018 Posner asked Brian to come work for him in his newly created company "Posner Center for Pro Se's" to help unrepresented litigants and agreed to pay Brian $120,000 a year to serve as the executive director of the Posner Center and to also provide advisory services to Posner in Posner's personal capacity.  But Posner REFUSED TO PAY  him for his work and Brian had to take him to court for BREACH OF CONTRACT. 
     Brian is representing himself and is battling lawyers from 3 DIFFERENT STATES (New York, Chicago and Indiana) in the case.  Recently, there was a hearing in the federal court and Brian tried to get the judge to take JUDICIAL NOTICE of a PERJURED AFFIDAVIT that the New York lawyer, Justin M. Ellis, signed under penalty of perjury.  The judge, after rethinking things over DECIDED TO ADMIT THE DOCUMENT into the record, and that's when it hit the fan: when the New York Lawyer started to WHINE and BACKPEDAL, trying to cover the perjury.
       HOWEVER, magistrate judge, Joshua Kolar, has been accepted to be a federal court of appeals judge at the U.S. Court of Appeals in Chicago, the SAME COURT that Posner was at.  Brian gave us updates on his case and now that the case is back in Judge Theresa L. Springmann's hands.  Brian is hoping she will do the right thing and allow not only Discovery, but a FAIR TRIAL.

    Slam the Gavel welcomes back Amanda Story,  last on the podcast Season 4; Episodes 125 and 142. Amanda's case takes place in Forsyth County, NC. Amy Palacios was last on the podcast Season 3; Episodes 147, 165 and 179, Season 4; Episodes 134, 145 and 150, Season 5; Episodes 22 and 70. Amy's case takes place in Cabarrus County, NC.
    We discussed their "family court" cases and the common thread is that the extortion that takes placed in the "family courtroom," amidst threats of jail and being forced into to "debtor's prison," which was ABOLISHED in 1833, constantly persist in the cases of these young mothers. God only knows what they are doing to good, fit loving fathers and grandparents as well.
    We discussed Amanda Story's updates where she has been through so many judges, ones she has NEVER MET and where sanctions have been placed. The Judge called her indigent and ordered her to pay $400.00 by February 20th to opposing counsel and the judge backdated the order to 2023. Amanda encourages parents to PAY ATTENTION and to get recordings as well as check through the Certificate Of Service DATES including the YEAR. Amanda has had a VIOLATION of all HER RIGHTS including ADA, DUE PROCESS and HIPPA. Go through YOUR DOCKET to make sure the time line is accurate.  Amanda encourages parents to study what  DARVO means: Deny Attack, and Reverse Victim and Offender. Amanda has been met with RETALIATION.
     Every time they kidnapped Amy Palacios's children, which was seven times in the last 15 YEARS it was done EXPARTE COMMUNICATIONS, which means Amy was NEVER in the courtroom. EXPARTE and CONTINUANCES NEVER END. The LEGAL ABUSE and FINANCIAL ABUSE never ends. There are TIES to the District Attorney's Office....
    The first judge Amanda had was Judge T. Kazakos. On a whim, he stripped Amanda Story OF HER 50/50 RIGHTS and she never went before him. It was done EXPARTE.  Apparently the Judge sits on the STOP CHILD ABUSE board. Parents have to pay for supervised visits and parenting classes. Amanda's case involved gun violence toward her child. WHY?
     So much information on the corruption of what really goes on in the "family court" system in NORTH CAROLINA. ISAIAH 54:17.

Stephen is the Founder of The Gabriella Boyd Memorial Foundation that was created on April 28, 2018, after the tragic and devastating loss of  two and a half year old, Gabriella. Shortly after, her father, Stephen Boyd, began this Non-Profit organization in order to not only honor his little girl but also to help those who are struggling through Family Court to have a voice and be heard.
     After reluctantly entering into his first “Parenting Agreement” in 2016, that was ordered by a judge in Westchester County, Stephen had been fighting for physical custody of his daughter. Like many of us, he was no familiar with the details and aspects of Family Court Law, Child Support, and Parental Rights pertaining to his situation and the situation of so many others. This process had been very difficult, time consuming, and costly for Stephen. However, the love that he has for his little girl was far greater, and he took all the necessary steps to educate himself and properly build a case. For two and a half years, he had built a case against the mother of his daughter with evidence, which he hoped to show that he ultimately deserved custody of Gabriella. 
     On Friday April 27, 2018, Stephen Boyd went to Village of Mamaroneck Police Department with the court order he had been fighting so long for. Although Judge Hal B. Greenwald had signed off on Stephen Boyd getting physical custody of his daughter that day, after a series of events that are still currently under investigation, unfortunately that court order was never executed. This case now sits in the Court of Appeals, 2nd Department, Appellate Division.
     On Saturday, April 28, 2018, around 1:30 PM, The Village of Mamaroneck Police Department received a call that resulted in police finding Gabriella D.O.A while in the care of her mother. Despite the efforts of the first responders to try to revive and resuscitate her, it was too late. Gabriella Boyd was pronounced dead.
     The Gabriella Boyd Memorial Foundation has a mission to help educate and assist those who have struggled to have a voice in custody situations. We want to be able to help those who are struggling, just like Stephen did, to have a chance to better understand their rights and the family court system. This foundation has the help of local law enforcement, social workers, family lawyers, and community activists for parents who want to be present in their children’s lives, but are struggling to find the necessary steps and their voice in the process. There will be Informational seminars held quarterly to provide help to those who would like to join us. We are also involved with other foundations who also have the same goal of promoting equality in family law in order to focus on the well-being of our children.
       In addition, this foundation will not only donate but focus on assisting causes near and dear to Gabriella; including but not limited to her daycare MCNS, Speech Pathology, Humane Society of Westchester, and more. Gabriella’s memory will live on through our efforts and your support.

     Slam the Gavel welcomes Brenda Bryant to the podcast. Brenda is an advocate for special needs, vulnerable adults and judicial reform. Brenda started advocating for her daughter who has an intellectual disability, diagnosed at age two.
     This began many years of advocacy from school to sports. The nightmare actually began when her daughter turned 18 years of age and at that time, Federal Government/State agencies began opening up "group homes," with 3 to 4 special needs clients to a home and were receiving the Social Security funds and Medicare Waiver.    Her daughter had a caseworker with the State Dept. and six months prior to her 18th birthday, they asked Brenda if she would like her daughter to go into a group home. Brenda and her husband were confronted several times regarding this. However, when her daughter did turn 18, they went to her school with a three/four page contract and had her called out of her class and sign herself into State's care....she printed her name at a first grade reading level on a LEGAL DOCUMENT giving the state the right to make her medical decisions and to place her wherever they wanted her placed and this was in October of 1993. 
     Her daughter did not come home from school. The State Department had refused to tell Brenda where her daughter was and there was no DSS allegations. The state agency told Brenda that her daughter, "is a legal adult and she is 18 and you have no say in her legal rights."
    Brenda began to investigate and this podcast explains exactly what happened to Brenda's daughter and where the money went. Brenda remains hopeful and is close with God saying, "If you have the courage to begin, you have the courage to finish, finish well. Never ever, ever give up."
