Edit: We’re bringing this 2016 Commentary Classic of the 2014 Director’s Cut back into the fold with an episode number.  Remember when Occupy Midian was at its peak, and the Director’s Cut was new?  We do!

For the first time since the Los Angeles Premiere with Clive Barker, Jose Leitao and Ryan Danhauser watch the Director’s Cut of Nightbreed.  Now that collective enthusiasm for Occupy Midian has wained, and we’re no longer blinded by having our name in the credits, does the movie still blow us away?  Watch it, and follow along with us to find out.  Feel free to add anything, or argue with us in the comments.

Only two of these left to go!  Today Rob, Jose and Ryan sit down together in three different time zones to talk about Candyman.  Do you dare to say his name five time in the mirror?  Do you like Jake’s bow tie?  Watch the movie again with us.

392: JSJJ C1E16 ‘The Wings of Hapexamendios’

Welcome to the Clive Barker Podcast, and part 16 of our Dungeons and Dragons game, Jericho Squad 77, set in the capitol city of Yzordderrex in the second dominion.  The members of squad 77 stand up their rival squad, take on a dragon god, makes a wish and investigate the mysteriously abandoned Dearther City.

And now here’s Bentley Widget to fill you in.

Bentley here.  I don’t know why they keep asking me to do these recaps. I’m the guy that always stays home! Maybe today will be different.  Last time the squad went to new Midian to solve a riddle from a sphinx, but they had to fight him anyway. They resurrected the Nightbreed god Baphomet and he told them that Squad 78 has been infiltrated by their enemy, Cassius Briar and the Hand of the Unbeheld, the Right hand of the God Hapexamendios. They learned that the God is in three parts.  The hand, the wings, and the heart. Now squad 78 is on their way to see us and they need to figure out what to do.

    391 : Commentary Classics - Transmutations

Edit: Our first commentary track, done in 2015. We did this using a DVD and a Laser Disc.  Now it's coming out in 4K Blu-Ray.  Can you believe it?

It's our first Kickstarter goal, and there are a lot more to go, so we thought we'd better get started early. Transmutations!  Known in Europe as Underworld, this is the 103 minute version, rather than the 88 minute version.

We had a lot of fun recording this commentary, and hope to get to Rawhead soon, just after we finish up a couple interview podcast episodes.

Sync up the movie to just after the last opening logo (likely Vestron) and pause it, then we'll count down to start!

386 : Commentary Classics - Yattering and Jack / Quicksilver Highway

Edit:  This post was supposed to come out on Christmas, 12/25/2022, but some crazy happenings with my vacation prevented me from being able to post any episodes between then and now.  The next time we record an episode, I’ll recount the experience.  No now we’re bringing back this commentary classic with both The Yattering and Jack and Quicksilver Highway from 2016, to give it a proper number and bring it officially into the podcast. Anyway, happy belated Holidays, and Que Sera, Sera, right?

This one’s a double feature of the 1987 Tales from the Dark Side episode, and adaptation of the Books of Blood short story, “The Yattering and Jack” and second, the second half of the 1997 Mick Garris Anthology movie, Quicksilver Highway, Which is an adaptation of the Books of Blood short story, “The Body Politic”.

Happy Holidays!  For the month of December, we’re finishing up the Hellraiser Commentary Classic line with the 10th film, Hellraiser Judgement, recorded February, 2018. We’re bringing back a holiday classic on Christmas Day. Que Sera, Sera.
