Unstoppable Goals Sexism Part III - EP 043

Unstoppable Goals Sexism Part III - EP 043

Join The Everyday Heroine's Private Facebook Group here!

An Everyday Heroine has at least one unstoppable goal that she is working toward in life. This is like her north star and a true guidance system that will show her the way through life. It leads her to more success, happiness, and empowerment. It starts with a simple 2-3 word title and when it is clearly defined, she knows how to turn the intangible nature of this unstoppable goal into smaller tangible SMART goals.

With an unstoppable goal, she has a quick way to access unlimited motivation at will so that she can focus on that goal over a long period of time. Unstoppable goals are designed to create greater meaning and purpose. Having at least one makes it easier to navigate everything in life including small and large distractions that can pull you away from your mission in life.

There is a world with problems and a world without problems. An Everyday Heroine spends as much time as possible in the world without problems because that’s where unstoppable goal achievement happens. It is not realistic to be a human and never live in the world of problems but you can certainly work to minimize the time in that world.

Sexism, gender discrimination, and sexual harassment are problems that can be turned into opportunities for creating a better life for everyone. There are many career opportunities within every career that impact the change process for zero tolerance. Everyone is responsible for contributing which means that if you are not working to solve the problem then you are part of the problem. I believe that everyone wants a better future for themselves and their families and working towards zero tolerance is a collective unstoppable goal worth sharing.

The best way to eliminate some of these issues is to simply achieve as many unstoppable goals as you can in your lifetime. The world will benefit from it!

Sexism Part II, Early Influences - EP 042

Sexism Part II, Early Influences - EP 042

    US National Human Trafficking Hotline
    1(888)373-7888
    https://humantraffickinghotline.org/

What can we and should we do about sexism, gender discrimination, and sexual harassment? These become the obvious questions.

What we can and should do is first get educated. Understand the terms, the meanings, and most importantly what the behavior looks, sounds, and feels like no matter how subtle they may be. Then, of course, if you know anything about me and if you have been to one of my leadership mastery sessions you know how important it is to have a strong personal brand with Unstoppable goals as your first step. Make sure you have at least one.

Ultimately, I like to encourage everyone to dream about how your leadership style is impacting the world that will exist 100 years from now. Change will be required for us to live the dream life that we want for ourselves and for the legacy that we leave behind once we are gone. That means that more women and more accurately more empowered women must do a few things.

I am beginning with a snippet from a website I found. I feel it is important to share as I start this episode.

I’ll share the link in the show notes! It states:

"The effects of sexism in the workplace are far-reaching. In fact, research has shown that women born in sexist places may go on to earn less money than women who are born in less sexist places. Misogyny in the workplace can show up in many different ways. There can also be sexism against men in the workplace, but it’s much more common that it happens against women.

No matter how it shows up, it should be met with zero tolerance. The thing is that it can appear in some less-than-obvious ways, so it’s important to be educated about examples of sexism in the workplace so that you can play a role in bringing an end to it."

Also, here's the map on the geography of sexism.

Career Stages for the Ultimate Life Adventure - EP 040

Career Stages for the Ultimate Life Adventure - EP 040

Career Stages for the Ultimate Life Adventure gives us a simple cycle for goal setting and celebrations.

Career Stages for the Ultimate Life Adventure

Begin by looking at the big picture of a career in large cycles of twenty-year pieces.

Then break down the larger cycles into five-year smaller pieces. Look at the small and large cycles as if they are building blocks that you can use to build the life you desire.

As education, economics, and life expectancy change in the world, so do our perspectives on career planning. Here's a quick breakdown of the career stages in our modern times.

    Educational Career

First, we begin with the mandatory educational career. This career uses the small five-year cycle naturally with the following significant milestones.

    Five-Year Kindergarten

    Ten-Year Brain Growth Spurt

    15-Year Prep-Driving Milestone

20-Year High School to College Transformation

So birth is important and then, roughly speaking, the five-year cycles moving forward are also important.

At about five years old, children are going to school. Kindergarten is an incredibly memorable time for most humans.

Just past the age of ten, the brain does its second-largest growth spurt at around age 11 for girls and 12 for boys. By the fifteen-year mark or a little beyond, teenagers approach the physical and mental growth required to learn to drive. Somewhere in between the 15-20 year stage, humans are turning into adults. They gain the right to vote and drink alcohol. At least that is true for American citizens. This is high school to college age. For those seeking a college degree, there is a major milestone at about the twenty-year mark when students graduate and begin their professional careers.

    First Professional Career

A career is no longer defined as a single entity in a person’s life. As we move toward a brighter future, an Everyday Heroine must stay open to the possibilities of multiple careers within a lifetime. Hopefully, we learn to consider two of those careers as your educational career and your retirement and other goodies in between.

    Multiple Career Option

When we consider a full career to be at least twenty years, and when we look at our time in the education system as a mandatory career, we have room in life for one, two to three full careers. It is your choice to create a career that supports what you want in life based on the many factors that impact your world.

    Retirement Career

For citizens of the US, the life expectancy is just under 80 years old right now. The retirement age is complicated and has a lot to do with taxes and social security benefits. That also has a lot to do with your financial situation.

Just to note, I consider retirement a career of its own. Retirement is a wonderful concept or career where you have enough income to create a lifestyle without the need to work. This can be referred to as passive income. I don't think it has as much to do with your age as your ability to generate passive income so that you don’t have to work for the lifestyle you want to enjoy.

Turning Failure into Success - EP 038

Turning Failure into Success - EP 038

I’m curious! What’s your opinion on failure? Is it something you avoid at all costs? If that’s true, does that make you a perfectionist?

On the other hand, do you embrace failure the same way Thomas Edison did?

With all the pressures of social media and the rest of the world to keep up with the most amazing life, I feel like a conversation around failure and perfectionism is somehow in order.

They say there’s no such thing as perfect, but I’m a perfectionist so I know what it feels like to be under the influence of perfectionism.

My engineering career has been one of the greatest causes of my perfectionism and it has also been the source of eliminating my perfectionism too.

Believe me, when you hear this idea you can intellectually wrap your head around it and agree with it. But when you are traumatized by perfectionism at a young age, you still behave like a perfectionist.

Too many times, when I speak to women with 15 or more years of experience I hear some heartbreaking stories of missed opportunities and a series of missed promotions or salary increases that can lead to some heartbreaking results.

Women are typically not as motivated as men in materialistic ways but in the end, it still matters. Women know when they are treated unfairly and it hurts when we are not recognized and compensated for our worth. It hurts everyone.

I think women working in male-dominated industries are fighting a very important battle for personal freedom. They fight for the freedom to be themselves because it is important for them and for everyone else in the world.

When a woman has the chance to bring her unique skills and talent to the world in a way that only she can do, everyone benefits in massive ways.

When women in male-dominated industries fight for career advancement they put themselves in positions that improve relationships between all humans in the most challenging environments on the planet. They constantly figure out how to gracefully win the fight to be themselves. That is such a transformative experience. It gives women the opportunity to feel proud of a job well done and have a unique sense of joy for the work they do.

It can be a tricky place to walk the line between failure and success with or without perfectionism. It is an important path to pursue and one that should be done with as much empowerment as possible.

Attitude Is Everything with Leadership Essence - EP 037

Attitude Is Everything with Leadership Essence - EP 037

Attitude is one of the most misunderstood aspects of personal leadership. Anyone who knows me even a little bit by now, probably knows how passionate I am about a prosperous future that is full of success and happiness and all the good things.

In order to get to that bright shiny future, Everyday Heroines will need to do a little bit of attitude adjusting because attitude is everything! It is the secret ingredient that will get you what you really want on your mission in life.

To transition from Imposter, Impressive, Influencer, and on to Immune, you must understand a few important aspects of attitude and empowerment that lead to transformation.

Inside this episode, I explain the basics of these complicated concepts.

First, I define Leadership Essence as a trinity between attitude, aptitude, and altitude. This is the same as a personal brand or your personal leadership style.

Then, I take a deep dive into the basics of attitude and how it relates to empowerment.

Finally, I highlight the overall dynamics between attitude and empowerment. There are stress and stress responses at one end of the spectrum and joy and passion at the other end of the spectrum. In the middle, there are two transformational levels and a level of sustainable superpowers where high-level leaders operate most of the time.

Awareness is the mechanism that allows a person to move between the levels.

There is something called the Maharishi Effect. I heard it as a story that seems to prove this theory of connectedness. There have been studies that measure the impact meditation has on crime in high-crime areas. They have people sit and meditate inside these high crime areas. That’s it, just sit and meditate during the high crime time periods. What the data shows is that crime statistics went down. This shows a correlation or a connectedness between humans.

Creating Space for Dramatic Transformation - EP 033

Creating Space for Dramatic Transformation - EP 033

Inspired by many books and life experiences. Here are some insights for creating space that facilitates dramatic transformations.

    Transformation

There are levels and layers to the dramatic transformation process.

At first, books are a great way to begin the transformation process. This is a light-hearted approach to changing your world. Then, taking a class offers a deeper experience into the knowledge base. Finally, an in-person one on one direct interaction offers the greatest form of transformation.

The transformation process has a cycle of life. At first, an opportunity presents itself in life. Then, each person answers the call for change by saying yes or no. When you say yes, the journey begins. Then, the student learns to create space. The learning process always includes four steps. The four steps are thinking, feeling, acting, and producing a result. Then, the student embodies the teachings. That embodiment has two forms. Finally, the student either adds to peace or adds to war through their actions.

    Erasing Hate - EP 032

    Erasing Hate - EP 032

Erasing hate, practicing war, and shining darkness seem to be way too familiar in our modern times.

The path to success and happiness requires transformation. That change process does not need to be so dramatic or does it?

In this episode, I discuss the most powerful movie I have ever seen. Plus, the Olympics are coming to a close and the drama during the women's figure skating event had to be addressed.

Wonder Woman needed to make a show for superheroine representation.

A true superheroine goes through a transformation process with each change she makes. On her way to greatness, she must learn a new level of emotional intelligence. With each passing phase, there is a grieving process that moves a person onto the next level.

Change is possible when a person is in a supportive and nurturing environment. Otherwise, the practice of war continues and darkness shines.

The outside typically matches the inside. Changing the inside first makes changing the outside bearable.
