    3 time is a trick!! We're back in Canada, and to one of my absolute favourite wine producers... period! Mission Hill Family Estate is located in the beautiful Okanagan Valley, a region producing outstanding wines across the board. I was hooked at first taste back in 2016 when Canada and Mission Hill submitted their first entries into the Global Fine Wine Challenge, and each subsequent year has re-affirmed my love of these incredible wines.

    In this episode, Ross Anderson chats with Mission Hill's Chief Winemaker, the delightful Corrie Krehbiel. Mission Hill, under Corrie's guidance has the Midas touch - crafting delightful, intense, pure and precise expressions of Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay and Bordeaux Blends... wow! These wines easily rival some of the best in the world.

    We're off to a country making some incredible wines - Canada! I'm constantly surprised by the depth and calibre of wines being made in Canada. Quality is second to nobody, the range of varietals being planted, nurtured and made into premium wines is similar to any leading region in the wine world and the skill of the winemakers is world class. What i'm no longer surprised to hear is "What! Canada makes wines!" Yes... they do, and oh boy... you need to get amongst it!

    In this episode, Ross Anderson chats with Nadine Kinvig from Terravista Vineyards in the beautiful  Okanagan Valley. TerraVista specialises in a range of alternative white wines and white blends. Nadine Kinvig – TerraVista’s winemaker has been at the helm and applying her deft touch to these beautifully crafted aromatic wines since 2019.

     2022 was the second time that Terravista had participated in the Global Fine Wine Challenge, representing the top 120 wines produced in Canada and going up against the finest from the other New World Participating Nations… and they did incredibly well.     In this episode, Ross Anderson is joined by Australia’s finest Sparkling winemaker – Group Sparkling Winemaker for Accolade wines, and the man behind the House of Arras, Mr Ed Carr. Ed has been making wines for more than 35 years and his patience and determination have helped turn Australia into a serious sparkling producer, as well as putting Tasmania on the wine map.

    In 2018 Ed received a lifetime achievement award from the Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships in London – the only winemaker outside of Champagne to win this award. Ed has been voted winemaker of the year – twice, and in November of 2022 Arras EJ Carr Late Disgorged 2004 was voted Decanter wine of the year. A few days later the Museum Release 2001 won Sparkling Class trophy and wine of Show at Global Fine Wine Challenge here in Sydney.

    Lou wears many hats at Yalumba; award winner, wine judge, board member, natural leader. She is an inspiring figure in Australia’s wine industry and a proud ambassador for Yalumba’s own brand of progressive winemaking.     This is the biggest interview done to date, both in terms of the number of people involved and due to the sheer level of interest in the movie Blind Ambition. The movie is a true story of four Zimbabwean refugees who were forced to flee their home country in search of a better life who become Africa's best and most unlikely sommeliers and compete in the World Wine Blind Tasting Championships - the Olympics of the wine world.

    The interview also focusses on the amazing wines being made under the partnership between Tinashe & Attie - Kumusha Wines, soon to be available in Australia.
