    How Do We Light The Fire To Finally Inspire The Change We Really Want EP#083

    In today's episode I am talking about how we can speed up the process of change by lighting that fire inside that inspires us to finally make the change we really want.  If you are like me, I know I want to make change but I have trouble finding the motivation to go through the steps to get there.  It's usually just easier to complain and go with the flow instead of instigating change.  Except, once we finally make the change we wonder what took us so long!!!

    Today I'm giving you a 4 (and a half) step process to help you speed this process along.   The steps aren't difficult, its just that we know that making change takes work...and that work isn't always fun, or easy.  The half step might be a really "out there" concept for you...so if you want to know more you can listen to the episodes I did on Positive Affirmations to learn more.   Here are the links to episodes 37 & 13, both about the power of positive affirmations.

    Today's episode is  about how to STOP limiting your ability to experience happiness.  I was  inspired by a great book I have been re-listening to called The Big Leap, by Gay Hendricks.  A friend recommended this book when I told her something that I was stuck on and worried about.  She immediately said, "READ THIS BOOK."  I love books and I hate getting stuck on things...so I did.  Well, today's episode is only one of many great things I learned from this book.  

    I think all of us have "upper limit" challenges in many areas of our lives.  Today, I am talking about how I have seen it play out for me as well as many other members of The Happier You community.  Hopefully I articulate the concept well enough that you can stop yourself from limiting your ability to experience happiness as well as carry this concept into other parts of your life where you are imposing limits on yourself.

    If you are interested to know more about the book I reference today, its called Be Your Future Self Now by Benjamin Hardy.  I only shared a couple of the great things that jumped out at me in the book.  There really is a lot more to what he shares.

    In today's episode I am talking about how "Doing Something Different" and going outside your comfort zone can bring you small wins to celebrate. Its not just what you learn outside your comfort zone, but the pure fact that you went outside your comfort zone is a large, small win!
    Today I tell you about a recent clash I had with my comfort zone. The unsurprising rise of fear and self doubt, and how I think pushing through the discomfort is worth doing it afraid. Its not easy, and the fear and self doubt keep coming back. However, the more you get outside your comfort zone, the more confident you will get in your ability to do it.
    Sometimes we cannot figure out how to get out of this rut we are in.  We get stuck in a routine and it at worst frustrates us, and at best discourages us.  We hope for something to change but we are stuck in our comfort zone.

    Do something different!  Try something new!    Stop doing the same thing and expecting things to change.

     In this episode I am talking about how knowing and living your values helps you create an authentic life. I think this is the foundation of finding your happier because you won't be truly happy until you figure out what your authentic life looks like and start living it. I believe that figuring out your values is a great way to clarify what matters most to you. Then you can design your life to fit that. Knowing your values helps clarify where to spend you time, money and attention. Decisions are all around us. Can you imagine how much clearer your path would be if you held your decisions up against your values? You are worth the work!

     This week's podcast is an interview with Natasha Mang.  Natasha is a Happiness Community Member who completed the 21 Day Happiness Challenge and has offered to come on the podcast and share her insights and lessons learned.   In today's episode Natasha shares how she used her experience in her first happiness challenge to get even more out of the second challenge.  She makes me laugh when she shares how she "beat the system" on her first challenge and how she is consciously choosing how she shows up each day.  She also shares insight on how her whole family is using the  Love Languages to improve communication and more effectively show each other love.    Such a fun interview and so many great take-a ways.

    This week I am talking about 5 happiness tools that can help you increase your resilience.  Resilience is your ability to get back to your normal state after a struggle or a crisis.  Its not really something most of us spend time thinking about until we find ourselves having to dig deep and work our way through a crisis or struggle.   I am convinced that by working on these 5 happiness tools, you are actually building your resilience muscle as well.  How cool is that?  More bang for your personal growth time!  YES!!    I think that if you choose one of these happiness tools and work on it for a couple of months, you will notice an increase in your happiness AND your resilience.  Don't you think that its worth a try?
