Food Truck Friday, returning April 7th, would like to think it’s found it’s forever home at Switchyard Park. Learn about what makes it such a perfect fit for this large community event as Hsiung Marler explains all the park has to offer. One of the best things about FTF having its home at Switchyard Park is partnering with the Performing Arts Series put on by the Bloomington Parks and Rec Department and ran by Crystal Ritter. Two amazing people who have such a positive affect on our community and it was such a joy sotting down with both of them.

After many years running the local Olive Garden, and a stint running the second largest Olive Garden in the country, Kyle Dahncke has returned home to take on a new challenge in his role as Chief Operations Officer of One World Enterprises. Maple bacon donuts might be the last thing you’d expect to find at a vegan bakery but it’s a staple at Rainbow Bakery. Sure the “bacon” is a toasted coconut but it’s a favorite if this carnivore. If you’re a vegan or not, Rainbow Bakery is a must stop for any baked good lover. Erin Toby and Kris Carlson are an integral part of what they do and I thoroughly enjoyed hanging out with them and getting to know about everything from their sister shops at Hopscotch and their 10 year anniversary later this year!!

Every Wednesday at 3:30 I get the opportunity to talk about where I’ve been eating out and highlight all the cool stuff going on in the local restaurant scene on the Glass in the Afternoon program on WGCL. The man behind the name, and host of the show, is the one and only Mike Glasscott. He was kind enough to come on camera for a change and talk about what we try to accomplish on his program, his many, many years in the restaurant industry at Old Yogis/City Grille, and his work with IU Athletics.
