    The Worst Asian Stereotypes

    The Worst Asian Stereotypes

In hopes of spreading more awareness against the ongoing hate against Asians, Ron, Earl and Thomas discuss their experiences on the Asian stereotypes they've gone up against. From Thomas' 'The new kid in class' highschool experiences when his classmates automatically assumed he was a nerd, to being emotionally pressured by his family to pursue a profession that he wasn't comfortable with, ultimately causing him more confusion in the long-run in regards with what career he wanted to pursue. Meanwhile, Earl talks about his memorable experience with quite a judgmental highschool teacher, who publicly undermined the Filipino students, calling them 'dumb' and 'lazy'. Lastly, Ron goes on bringing up his perspective on people mocking the Filipino accent from their experiences with facing Filipinos and other Asians working in the service sectors in the Middle East. These are just SOME snippets on the Asian stereotypes that they don't like so listen along as the 3 slackers talk more on Asian stereotypes such as Asians being the worst drivers, Asians and their love for rice, and much more!

Self Love And The Struggles That Come Along With It

Self Love And The Struggles That Come Along With It

When you look at the mirror, do you accept and like what you see? How important is self love? In this episode, the slackers discuss their personal process of self love and the difficulties they faced throughout the process. Due to ongoing difficulties with his 'identity problem', Thomas talks about his struggles on gaining self confidence that further hinders him from self-love. Ron’s journey is rather a rollercoaster of an experience; from someone who was fit and active consistently receiving positive physical comments, to - years later - a person who is quite the exact physical opposite, on the receiving end of rather negative physical comments. Meanwhile, through all the experiences Earl encountered during his high school and university days, it’s been clear to him that through happiness comes acceptance. Against all the negativity he has ever faced, staying happy has always been his true weapon that has helped him get through to where he is now. This episode will shed some light onto what it takes to love yourself and hopefully help you realize that you’re not alone in this journey. So if you’re facing the same struggles with loving and accepting oneself, the slackers are always free to reach out to and we will make sure you feel loved and are as happy as we are when we have our face stuffed with food.

Dealing With Stress: The Slack Life Way

Dealing With Stress: The Slack Life Way

Dealing with stressful situations can be very challenging for a person. In this episode, the three slackers discuss fun ways on how they dealt/deal with stress through their personal forms of escapism during highschool, university and even during the pandemic. Thomas shares his love for Anime, and how he leaned on it as an activity to help relieve occasional stress. This reminds Earl of how youtube was one of his primary forms of escapism back in highschool, helping him realize the true meaning of friendship. However, the stress Earl later faced from his aeronautical engineering course was too immense, resulting in his INTENSE stress eating habits. Meanwhile, fitness was Ron's main form of escapism; however, this would later change and transform to quite the opposite due to his close friendship with Earl. So listen along as they try to help you come up with some forms of escapism, that you may have never thought of before.

Thomas Sends Ron To The Hospital

Thomas Sends Ron To The Hospital

    forgive
    /forˈɡɪv/

    verb

stop feeling angry or resentful towards (someone) for an offence, flaw, or mistake.
"I'll never forgive Thomas for the way he slapped me with a book"

Changing it up a bit, Ron, Thomas and Earl tries to touch on a sensitive topic, forgiveness. Although, not very successful due to the nature of their clownery. Ron reminds Thomas of how he sent Ron to the hospital back in high school, ultimately resulting in the pair drifting apart from one another. From that experience, Thomas is reminded about an incident in Grade 12 that made him question his trust placed in friends and how he moved pass that situation through forgiveness. Meanwhile, Earl goes on about how important forgiveness is to him and how he enjoys the luxury of life - more importantly food - regardless of the situation. All these experiences ultimately lead them to learn and grow, forging the persons that they are today.
