The Truth Of The Matter Is

From a secular point of view, relationships are the network for life, and yet, as the believer Maneuvers through life, it is important to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. From a biblical standpoint, it's not what you know, and it's not what you necessarily do, it's who you know that gets you entry into the kingdom of God, which has not come and yet it has come and yet it is still to come. Tune in today to understand why Jesus needs to know your name through a personal relationship. Understand  why this relationship should not be an acquaintance or business relationship but a personal one. 

Bible study reflection solo or with friends is an inspirational segment for me as a result of getting together for bible study with friends Erik and Jennifer while still having more to say. Thus far, the segment has been about unpacking different passages of scripture read in bible study and feeling the need to explore it even more deeply. After having a good conversation with Anna, a friend of mine, I decided to open up the flexibility in this segment by addressing questions and concepts in the bible. This week, I spoke with a new friend of mine, Kimberly Boggio who has her own podcast called (guide4truth). We discussed the concept of the rapture and end times. Does scripture support it ?  Tuning in may encourage you to have these tough conversations. Remember there's nothing wrong with having healthy conversation with your brothers and sisters in Christ. I hope Kimberly and I have provided a great example of that today for you! 

Today, we bring on Johnny Sanders, who is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Oklahoma and Texas.  He is the owner of the Christian Counseling Practice, Truth & Grace Counseling. He also hosts his own podcast called: Faithfully Engaged. As a philosopher who loves to have deep conversations about the Word of God and many different issues that plague us today, I was excited to talk with Johnny and pick his brain on some things that I have always wanted to ask a Counselors.   Tune in to see what those things were and decide for yourselves if you agree with our stances or disagree with them. Being able to identify False teachers with the guidance of scripture should be easy. False teachers will always provide an alternative to the messaging from the Word of God. Falsehood doctrine will not agree with what scripture has to say on most issues. The base of its philosophies will not acknowledge that we all are sinners who need saving. Instead the concept of what will be preached is a power within that needs to be awakened, sparked, and lit. There will be no accountability to one way but promotion will lean to multiple ways . The messaging will not be direct but instead it’s a Multifaceted song and dance. You can expect a message that is clever in nature and misleading in “The Truth.'' Being a follower of Christ is not easy but rather difficult, and with that comes believing in things you can not necessarily prove but actually calls  you to operate in faith. On today's show, we take a look at Matthew 7:13-14 as we discuss the difference between the path that's narrow versus the path that is wide. Tune in to see how you can view Matthew 7:13-14 through a practical application while also appreciating the biblical framework. Tough conversations were had today on 'The Truth of the matter is' podcast centered around several topics. The Bases of these talks were inspired by Matthew 7:7-12. The biblical translations that were used were NLT, ESV, AMP, MSG. Johnathan and Daniel Unconventionally took a look at verses 12-10 to begin and then worked their way from Verse 7-9. Tune in to find out why that was the approach. The topics that were addressed were the Golden rule or the rule of thumb. Why is it hard to fulfill its requirements? The concept of "Good" how should a Bible believing person view it? And finally why should I keep on keeping on? What are the benefits surrounding the phrase as a believer? 

Today, we bring on Mike Van Pelt, an entrepreneur, author, speaker, and men’s life coach leader.  He is the founder of True Man Life Coaching and the host of  True Man Podcast. Mike has authored numerous articles and is featured in the best-selling book, The Art of Connection: 365 Days of Transformation Quotes by Entrepreneurs, Business Owners, and Influencers. Mike  completed his first book entitled, True Man True Ways, A Roadmap of Discovery to the Masculine Heart. He holds a BA in Business Leadership and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Arizona. Tune in as we discuss the importance of asking for help, seeking purpose in life and being part of a group that holds you accountable. Continue with the Gospel of Matthew series. Johnathan and Daniel move along to chapter 7, and the opening of the chapter deals with a highly discussed topic. Looking back in the archives, it was discussed and covered in episode 24, judgment and forgiveness. Today, Johnathan and Daniel specifically address the issue of judging others. It is highly recommended to check our episodes 27 and 50, which deals with the issue of self-righteousness. Tune in to see if what is brought up raises attention to something you can improve upon and change when you are dealing with others! 

Continuing with the Gospel of Matthew series, we welcome Daniel back, and we close out Matthew 6 by taking a look at verses 25-34. The conversation today was much more open as we opened up in prayer, acknowledging that before each and everyone of us were born, the Lord knew, all human life would be full of ups and downs, twists and turns, good and bad experiences. He knew that the human condition would be challenging as a result of sin, and yet He believed that we would handle and manage expectations. He believed that we would be overcomers. Tune in as Johnathan and Daniel dive into some deep waters exploring the implications of the human condition and what would be some fixed realities that we would have to contend with as humans while being a believer/ unbeliever. 

This week Johnathan is normally joined by Daniel however due to personal reasons you have solo Johnathan Drayton as a result. The passage that Is being discussed is Matthew 6:19-24 and Johnathan asks us three questions that should be able to get us close  to addressing the main question: Where does our heart lie? Those three questions are: What is of value to you? What actions are you willing to take? And finally What/Who are you prioritizing? Once you have evaluated this personally and discovered this immediately then you will know where your heart lies. Tune in to find out what urges us to ask these questions and seek answers for them!

I was having a conversation with Anna McLaughlin, a future special guest  episode that will soon be released. During our conversation, there was a question I didn't get a chance to ask her. This gave me the idea to bring her on again, but in the bible study reflection solo or with friends segment to address it separately. The question simply was: Are unbelievers afforded the same access to grace and mercy as the believer? Tune in to see if you agree.

Today's conversation will be different.  We have Matthew Garnier, who recently published a book about religious upbringing. The book is called "Swept Up: Lessons From the End Times" with tales and lessons from church and home-schooling He's a low-budget filmmaker who grew up in the 90s  with an uncomfortable ideology about church while struggling with mental health as well. The conversation today will not be about his testimony. Instead, we will speak about his experience in his church upbringing, and we'll see where we land on things we agree with and disagree with. The purpose of this conversation is to have a healthy conversation. 

Johnathan and Daniel have an open conversation about their experience fasting. Of course they cover several verses leading up to a statement from Johnathan: why when fasting is it better to receive than achieve from start to finish in the process of fasting? Tune in and ask yourself if you have ever fasted what was and can be your mindset during the process now? Have you ever thought deeply about the thing you're giving up more than the connection you should be attempting with God ? Are you embracing devotional time with God differently? The goal after you have listened is that maybe you will apply something different when you fast next time. The passage was Matthew 6:16-18 in the Amplified version. 

On this podcast, we spoke about the importance of prayer. Episode 19 was specifically addressing prayer through a biblical Lens. It was a reminder that prayer should flow, like a regular conversation you have with friends and family. The only difference is that you would repeat God's Word back to him to show him that you have studied yourself approved unto God. Episode 68 is all about reminding us that prayer has power. Yes, I'm sure there are moments in your life when you have prayed but felt like it didn't make a difference? You then started to believe that praying was worthless because you saw no results, so you said, "Why commit to it, especially if I'm not seeing change. Today, we dive into the Lord's prayer. Jesus and his disciples mentioned that John was teaching his disciples how to pray, so they asked Jesus, "Can you teach us how to pray?" Tune in to hear the words that Jesus suggested. The Lord's prayer has been recited often. Ask yourself why? 

While at work this week, I listened to the Gospel of Luke and caught some interesting verses ripe for dialogue. On this week's episode, we took a trip down memory lane, identified different portions of the Luke text, that had us thinking deeply and found them to be startling. Sometimes, when you read God’s word, you will come across scriptures that will have you pausing, at times, taken aback and dare I say, tough for you to process or wrap your mind around. Part 1 episode 22. Part 2 episode 70. 

It's still a fairly new segment, which was inspired by a weekly bible study I had with friends Jennifer and Erik. The background story is that we would usually take out an hour in the week to have a conversation on 2 or 3 chapters in a book of the bible of our choice. Today, I unpack what I spoke about with Erik in the book of 2 Corinthians 13:5. This time around, I bring up the importance of Hermeneutics and focus on three basic comprehensive principles: context, supportive text, and purpose. Since that was the focus today, we discussed verses that proceed verse 5 that would be verses 1-4 and just one verse that comes after 5 verse 6. Fair warning ⚠️ a lot of supportive text is mentioned,  so you might want to take out a pad and pen or take notes from the phone and look at it later.

Continuing with the Gospel of Matthew series, we see that before Jesus teaches his disciples how to pray, He makes some suggestions on how to conduct yourself when it comes to praying. He makes a distinction between what we see and what we should do all in Matthew 6:5-8 ,which is the passage for today. Tune in to learn any additional information you might have overlooked and never considered. For those who struggle to pray, you might want to revisit episodes 19 and 68. Be prepared to write down some support text while also seeing how things relate in today's context.
