    Thinkmental with Jimmy

    Simplifying the way we approach mindset & teaching people how important certain behaviours are to the mental health of ourselves and others.

    Working on your mental health is not a 'one size fits all' kinda thing. Jimmy wants to discover as many ways possible that you can improve your mental health.  So join Jimmy and his guests in finding out what different mental health tips, strategies, and routines are out there, and become the best version of yourself in the way of YOUR choosing.

    Jimmy's story

    In 2016, Jimmy finally realised his childhood dream of professional sport (AFL) was no longer possible and became severely depressed, always anxious, and developed a terrible mindset. Despite being fit, with a great family, and always around great people, Jimmy was lost, scared, overwhelmed, and unsure how to get out of his dark hole.

    Jimmy is happy-go-lucky, a little bit weird (but the good kind), and loves a good metaphor for life advice. After a 7+ year mental health journey, Jimmy has built 'Thinkmental with Jimmy' with the clear goal of providing you with a simple approach to mental health that works for you. He hopes that through the guests and episodes of this podcast, you can be inspired to make the change to your mental health and mindset that you've been looking for.

    #36 - How Excuses Impact Our Mental Health with Jimmy Rayner

    This week I discussed something that we all fall in the trap of doing; making excuses for why we don't do so well or achieve things.

    Downplaying things and starting your goals with a reason as to why it may not work, is too common and can effect our mental wellbeing and achievement.

    This episode I want to give you something to think about if you make excuses for yourself instead of backing yourself in to achieve the things you want - SO TUNE IN!

    #35 - How to Use Social Media to Improve Your Mental Health with Jimmy Rayner

    #35 - How to Use Social Media to Improve Your Mental Health with Jimmy Rayner

    I wanted to touch on this topic today because I know there’s a lot of talk about social media and why we need to monitor it for our mental health.

    We know the typical things about social media that is pretty detrimental to your mental health like;

    - Not waking up and opening socials first thing
    - Limiting screen time before bed
    - Limiting screen time in general

    But I don’t think there’s much chat about the specific things we intake as much and I personally found what I talk about today more useful for my own mental health.
