Welcome to another episode of the Two Scaredy Cats Podcast!

This week we are talking about the true story that inspired the horror movie "Orphan".   Orphan tells the story of a little girl nameed Esther, who is adopted by a family and turns out to a killer and an adult posing as a child.

The real story is even more disturbing than the movie and was inspired by Barbora Skrlova, a women who was posing as children in  the Czech Republic and Norway.   She gets adopted and then forces her new mom to abuse her other children. 

The other story we are discussing this week is the Kahmar Deban Deaths.  This story takes place in Russia and is about a group of hikers who all die in a strange and mysterious way and there is only one survivor.  We talk about some of the theories people have about what might of happened to the group of hikers.

On this Episode we are talking about the famous Heavens Gate cult from the 1990"s.
The founders of this cult believed that their members would be taken by a spacecraft from the Level Above Human to take them home to "Their World" --in the literal Heavens".  ship which was tailing behind the Hale-Bopp comet.  They believed the world was going to end and they wanted to catch a ride on the alien spacecraft leaving their human bodies behind so they could live in a higher existence past Heaven's Gate!

We also talk about how the leader of Heavens Gate, Marshall Applewhite bought some Alien Abduction Insurance for the entire cult!  Yes, you to can purchase some Alien Abduction Insurance for $35.00!

Their website is still up and running 26 years after they took their lives on March 26,1997.

The second story we are talking about is the Devil's Rocking Chair.  This normal rocking chair became a sinister relic when it was at the epicenter of an exorcism, two possessions and a murder case that would change judicial history. 

 This true story was made into the the 3rd Conjuring movie "The Devil Made Me Do It"

Welcome to the Two Scaredy Cat Podcast!

On this episode we are talking about the Barney and Betty Hill Close Encounter and the Gladstone Villa.

Barney and Betty Hill were on their way home from their honeymoon in Niagra Falls, Canada when they encountered a ufo.  This was the first case of what we call today a close encounter of the third kind.  Listen as we learn and talk about everything that happened that evening to the Hill's.

We are also talking about the Ghosts of The Gladstone Villa which happened to Andrew Dexter and his family from 1969-1978.  We have Andrew Dexter's own account of the hauntings that happened to his family during this time until 1978 when the Gladstone was sold and turned into a hotel.  This hotel is still around today and is still haunted by the ghost that Andrew and his family encountered during the time they lived in it.
 
You can rent at room at the hotel its called the Gladstone and is located in Whales.  They say that room five has lots of activity if you want to have the full paranormal experience!

Welcome to the Two Scaredy Cats Podcast on this episode we have a couple of Mysterious stories for consider. 

Our first story is about a ghost ship by the name of  The Jenny.  This story is about an alleged English Schooner that gets frozen in a wall of ice, while traveling through the Drake Passage in the Antarctic Ocean. This story originally appeared in an article in '' Wiener Zeitung" paper on Feb. 1841.    In the several weeks following the original printing of this story it appeared in at least seven other newspapers.   We also talk about where the saying Davy Jones's Locker originates from and about the real life  pirate Davy Jones. 

Our second story is the legend of "The Green Chirldren of Woolpit.  This story is a tale of two mysterious children with green skin and green clothes who appear out of a cave. They spoke gibberish and only ate beans.  This is an old Folktale that has been in circulation since the 12 century.

Hello and welcome to the Two Scaredy Cats Podcast!

On this episode we are reviewing the legends surrounding the Christmas Witch a.k.a. Frau Perchta and Krampus from Germany and Austria.  We discuss how these two characters are similar and how  their legends began.

We also talk about Knocking night and what happens on this night.  As we discuss these holiday traditions maybe instead of using Elf On The Shelf to get your child to clean their room, you could tell your child that Frau Perchta will come and disembowel them if they don't clean their room before they go to bed!

Next we talk about Lake Shawnee Amusement Park and all the crazy paranormal activity that takes place on the grounds of this abandoned amusement park.  We learn about some of the local legends and the ghosts that are said to haunt the land.

Hello and Welcome to the Two Scaredy Cats Podcast,

On this weeks episode we are discussing our trip to Pittsburg and a visit to the West Virginia State Penitentiary in Moundsville, West Virginia.

We were able to stop at Salt Fork State Park in Ohio.  This park is said to be home to the Ohio Grassman and Big Foot.  We hiked a trail where  Big Foot has been spotted numerous times.

Later on we went to visit the West Virginia State Penitentiary. 
 This prison has been around for over a 100 years and was built in  a gothic style and had the look of a fortress.   Over 998 men have died inside the walls of this prison with 94 of them being executed.  The land the prison sits on is said to be cursed because it is an ancient Indian burial ground.  All kinds of paranormal activity have been seen in the prison.

We will be posting photos of our adventure and some of the stuff we saw on our tour on our Instagram account.

The first cryptic is called Dog Woman  as you can guess because she is woman who looks and acts like a dog .  She  is said to hang out around a sanatorium near  an old meat chest.   She is said to chase away teenagers who are up to no good. 
The other cryptid we are covering is the Indiana Mud Mermaid, this creature is said to be five feet long and  resembles a human but is also said to be amphibious.  These creatures were seen playing on a sandbar in the middle of the Ohio River.

On this weeks episode we are talking about the Houska Castle and its Hell Hole.  This castle was used by the Nazi's during WWII to conduct some insane experiments and perform some dark rituals.  People have claimed to see creatures that would fly over the castle and come from the pit underneath it. 

We are also talking about the Little Red Man of Salem, NC.  He is said to be the ghost of a real person that was a trickster and died in a tragic accident.  Andreas Kremser was said to be wearing a red jacket and hat when he died.  People have claimed to see a little red man running around the halls and have heard him moving around the building where he died and playing tricks on people.

Welcome to the Two Scaredy Cats Podcast,

On this episode we talk about our recent adventure that included a tour of The Ohio State Reformatory.   On Saturday Aug 6, 2022 we went on a tour of the Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield Ohio.  Most of you might recognize this place from the movie Shawshank Redemption which was from a short story written by the master of horror Stephen King.

This place has been on our bucket list to visit for a few years now.  Over 215 people have died in and around the grounds of the reformatory including a farm boss and his family, and a  warden and his wife.  Numerous inmates have died on the property from diseases like influenza, and tuberculosis while others have died violent deaths from suicide, or being killed by a cellmate.   This place has had a ton of deaths by violence on its grounds, that make it the perfect storm for ghost and spirits to exist.
