    World Game-Changers

One thing that’s never been attached to Paul is the label ‘normal’ – something he is totally aware of.  He definitely subscribes to being one of those mentioned the iconic ‘Think Different’ Apple commercial narrated by Steve Jobs in 1977:

“Here's to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes... the ones who see things differently -- they're not fond of rules.  You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can't do is ignore them because they change things... they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do!”

His World Game-Changers podcast embraces a mutually-respectful conversational style, with guests that are deemed ‘Unsung Heroes’ – selfless, dedicated people that contribute to the betterment of the world, in whatever way they can…

Change Your Mind, Change Your Life (2) – Paul D. Lowe & Wayne Donnelly

On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined again by Wayne Donnelly for a second episode of this mini-series to talk about how powerful the mind is, and how you can use it to change your life.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

    • The old saying is: Whatever we believe to be true is true for us. But when you ask a man who he is, he normally comes back with his job title. Pulling off that layer, I’m a husband. Pull off that layer, I’m a father. Pull off that layer, I’m a sibling. They’re parts that you play in your life, but they’re not who you are. Who are you really and why are you here?
    • It all comes back to the image that’s inside and the beliefs that they hold of themselves. While they believe that to be true it will stay the same and will only change when their beliefs change. We can access that unconscious/subconscious/other-than-conscious mind so that we can break that pathway and remake it into what it is that that person wants to achieve, whether that’s income, health, relationships, scholarly achievements, whatever.
    • “Well-formed outcomes” are where I work with people to create a picture or movie of their desired outcome and load it with symbols and emotions which will magnetise the unconscious mind to take you there. You use the power of the unconscious mind and the steering and direction of the conscious mind.
    • Some people’s subconscious will pop out without them thinking, we call it a Freudian Slip, and they’re sending you a message of what they think about themselves. At a surfing beach the other day I was invited over by some younger blokes and the first thing that came out of my mouth, before I could even think or stop it was: “My glory days are over”. How’s that for preventing me from having one of the best surfs of my life. Listen to what people say after “I am…”, they may say things in jest, but there’s a lot of truth in jest. I make sure I use different words when I get out surfing these days.

    BEST MOMENTS

‘You cannot outperform your beliefs about yourself. If you think you’re royalty you will perform exactly to what that belief is you have about royalty. Or, if you believe you can only earn a certain amount of income, that’s all you’re going to earn'.

‘We have to raise the belief so we can raise the performance'.

‘We buy with emotions and use logic to justify after! The subconscious mind has power, once the programs are in there they’re going to go, but it has no ability to set the direction. The conscious mind however, can chose the goal we would like to have'.

‘We have to be very careful of the words that we utter because the unconscious will pick that up as a command'.

Change Your Mind, Change Your Life (1) – Paul D. Lowe & Wayne Donnelly

On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined by first-time guest Wayne Donnelly to talk about how powerful the mind is and how you can use it to change your life.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

    • My work is in behavioural change, and I use tools like hypnosis and neural linguistic programming. When clients come to me with an issue, I help them to change the way they think so that they approach life differently so that when they do change their minds, they can change their lives and what’s happening in their world.
    • People come along for many different reasons; they might go on the coaching journey with me, or they might just come for a couple of sessions of hypnotherapy and change. It could be that they’re a smoker wanting to quit, and certainly when they’ve changed their mind, their identity, and their belief about themselves, they can go from being a smoker to someone who pursues health. The same with weight loss and many other things besides PTSD, stress and anxiety, and phobias (flying, snakes, spiders).
    • In the entrepreneurial/business space there’s a saying that the business is a reflection of the owner – if the business isn’t doing well, something needs to be adjusted in the mindset of the owner. When we work on that we can lift their belief in themselves and we can change what they’re doing with the business.
    • We can get caught up in thinking that reality is what we see around us and that our circumstances are dictating to us what we think and what believe is real. If we flip that around – and for a lot of people this will be challenging – regardless of what the circumstances are in our life, we can believe that things are favourable: Whatever we believe to be true is true for us.

    BEST MOMENTS

‘Their altitude is determined by their attitude: If they come in with a certain approach, they get a certain result. It all comes down to self-image and self-worth'.

‘When the traumas from your past no longer have any control over you then you’re free to create the ideal version of yourself'.

‘Drinking to overcome your problems only creates more problems'.

‘There’s an old saying: “We get more of what we focus on”. Focus on the future of what you’re creating, not: What happened in the past? Why did it happen? Why did we respond to those certain events in the past?’

EI Helps Us Embrace AI (2) – Paul D. Lowe And Kristin Johnson & Daniel Gasser

EI Helps Us Embrace AI (2) – Paul D. Lowe And Kristin Johnson & Daniel Gasser

Paul engages in a conversation with Daniel Gasser and Kristen Johnson about the possibilities and implications of artificial intelligence (AI). They discuss the role of AI in mental health, including the use of AI chatbots like PI. They explore the idea of AI as a tool for therapy and coaching, acknowledging that while AI can provide support, it cannot replace the human connection and intuition that comes with working with a real person. The conversation also touches on the potential of AI in music and the importance of vulnerability in human experiences.

      KEY TAKEAWAYS

      • AI can be a powerful tool in various fields, including mental health and coaching. It can provide support and assistance, but it is not a replacement for human interaction and emotional intelligence.
      • The fear of AI taking over jobs and replacing humans is not entirely justified. While AI is evolving and becoming more advanced, there are still limitations to what it can do. Human skills, such as vulnerability and intuition, cannot be replicated by AI.
      • Vulnerability is a strength and a powerful tool for connection. Being open and authentic allows for deeper connections and understanding between individuals. AI cannot replicate the emotional depth and connection that comes from human vulnerability.
      • Music is a universal language that resonates with humans on an emotional level. While AI can assist in composing music, it lacks the imperfections and human touch that make music truly powerful and moving.
      • Embracing AI means exploring its possibilities and using it as a tool to enhance our lives. It is important to experiment and see how AI can be beneficial, but also to be discerning and recognize its limitations. Ultimately, humans have the ability to shape and control the use of AI.

      BEST MOMENTS

"If we use it right, it's an amazing tool that never has been here before." - Daniel Gasser

"Being vulnerable is one of our greatest powers and it's one of our greatest love-creating energy we have." - Daniel Gasser

"There is this whole thing, particularly within the more masculine energy, so easy to coin the phrase, big boys don't cry, what have you. But what a gift to be vulnerable and to actually go out there to the outside world and say, this is it." - Paul D. Lowe

"But the real interesting part of it in science fiction, Daniel, isn't that the case that it's more interesting when the AI is trying to learn something that is outside of its comfort zone, like understanding emotions?" - Kristen Johnson

"So play around with AI. Do it. Use it. And you will see where it leads you. And you will see if it helps you or not. If it doesn't help you, kick it in the bin." - Daniel Gasser

EI Helps Us Embrace AI (1) – Paul D. Lowe And Kristin Johnson & Daniel Gasser

EI Helps Us Embrace AI (1) – Paul D. Lowe And Kristin Johnson & Daniel Gasser

On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul and Kristin Johnson are joined by Daniel Gasser to talk about how we, as humans, can embrace AI and the unknowns that come with it.

      KEY TAKEAWAYS

      • Most of us don’t deal well with the unknown, which is a shame because our brains and our whole being is built for the unknown. As soon as we come out of our mothers it’s unknown, the whole of life is unknown and, the older I get  the more I ask myself: Is it really human nature to fear the unknown or are we just trained by the system and ‘value givers’ that we should fear the unknown? We’re born curious otherwise we wouldn’t learn to walk or speak, anything. My guess is that we’re not afraid of it, we’re told to be afraid of it.
      • Some people preach that every new technology is dangerous. When steam trains were developed, seriously intelligent people said that if you travel faster than 100mph your face will be ripped off your skull. They were taken seriously and people would say they’d never take a train, it’s the same with people fearing ChatGPT will take over their jobs. Trains did take over some jobs, but they created a whole lot of new jobs and industries too.
      • I used ChatGPT and realised that this thing is cool! The fear went, and the more I interact with AI, the more I use tools built with AI, the more I also make money with it – yes,, I make money with it, I’m a businessman as well as a coach. The more I dive into it the more I see what it is today and what it could look like tomorrow. But, I’m still way more divine and creative as a human being than this little machine with a stack of data interpretation is ever going to be. Use it or don’t, but fear never brings anything good.
      • When we’re in a fearful state, we shut down our creativity, spirituality, and our love, we reduce ourselves to an animal, to fight or flight. Knowing that, I can ask myself what I have to do in my mind and emotionally to overcome fear and become emotionally intelligent again? For the emotional part; calm down, meditate, get out of the way in your mind and you’ll find the fear fades away slowly but surely and you can think and be creative and function again. The better your emotions become, you become emotionally and otherwise intelligent again.

      BEST MOMENTS
‘We’re all assuming that it’s going to be very bad, that AI is going to eat us alive, take our jobs, take over our lives, do everything. Why are we always assuming the worst?’

‘Need to change our mindset to maybe plan for the worst but expect the best'.

‘I was frightened to death when AI came out, but then I remembered that fear is not a good advisor and the best remedy for fear is taking action'.

‘Our planet is in such a bad state because, collectively, we’re negative'.

What's Missing From You Having A BETTR Life (3) – Paul D. Lowe and Kristin Johnson & Marc 'Spanky' Reid

On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined once more by Kristin Johnson and Marc ‘Spanky’ Reid to further discuss a BETTR life this time through the lens of prosperity.

      KEY TAKEAWAYS

      • At my current age, my view on prosperity is certainly different to what it was as a teenager and a young dad. Today, the one word that jumps out at me now to do with prosperity is ‘time’. Depending on where you are in the world, we have a system in place that unfortunately we have to exchange time for money to provide for our families and put food on the table. If we had an opportunity to buy back some of that time back by increasing our income, would we take it?
      • 97% of people live pay check to paycheck and are not in a position where they can offer whatever means they are able to use to gain wealth and get their finances in order to get back their time. If a larger percentage of the population had the opportunity to leverage the little extra time that they have to purchase back some prosperity time in the future, I’d ask would they take advantage of that opportunity.
      • Can you physically do things like working out and taking care of yourself to have a better life? Is there mental health that you could seek out to help you? Mental health is a big thing these days. All of these things are available on the Bettr platform to help anyone and everyone that wants to be part of that community because they don’t require a licence.
      • We have people who have made seven figures for the first time in their lives after just 12 months of production as well as people making six figures a month. This is all from a free platform which is 100% referral.

      BEST MOMENTS

‘If you have ‘time freedom’ most likely your finances are in place, you’re not worried about income coming in, maybe you have money working and making more money on the side – that’s prosperity.’

‘Being able to give of your time for someone that’s in need – that’s prosperity.’

‘Money is talked about almost more than anything else in the Bible – money and love – and I think it’s because we sometimes think money will solve all problems.’

‘Connect with people who are moving in the same direction that you want to move in, do what they do and you’ll get what they’ve got.’

What's Missing From You Having A Bettr Life (2) – Paul D. Lowe and Kristin Johnson & Marc 'Spanky' Reid

On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined once more by Kristin Johnson and Marc ‘Spanky’ Reid to further discuss the ‘what’ and the ‘how’ of BETTR networks, and how they can help people achieve their goals for a better world and a better life.

      KEY TAKEAWAYS

      • During Covid the government had a choice: Either put restrictions in place and have tens of millions of people filing for unemployment overnight – what would that have done to the economy and our country? – or create employee retention credit to reward businesses for digging in their pockets to keep their employees. So, in the beginning they had ERC and PPP loans and you could only apply for one as a business owner, and just about everybody went PPP. In 2021 the law was changed in ERC to allow them to apply for both as long as the PPP was forgiven. We don’t charge people to find out f they can claim that money back, but we had a client recently who was told he couldn’t apply for it and we got him $13.5million through ERC. You have the option to file to see if your eligible, or let the government have those funds.
      • You feel like you’re the hero of your community, you give back to your community $25-100million through this programme, no matter where you go, you’re going to be looked at as a hero because you’ve drastically impacted those lives, your employees and businesses. It’s a beautiful thing to be able to offer that service to people.
      • What happens when you have a family that’s paying $1000 and you can save them 40%? They have an extra $400 a month that they can allocate towards other things for that family. It’s a big deal what Clearwater is doing.

      BEST MOMENTS

‘We can start to build you a legacy for your family, for employee’s families, and we can show you what that looks like financially.’
‘About 78% of people in the US are living pay cheque to pay cheque, 85% of them don’t like the job they currently have. If you can help a family open up $400-500 it relieves so much stress.’
‘I have a fear of needles, it’s definitely easier for me to spend 5-10 minutes with Clearwater to check my coverage and see if they can get me better coverage than it is to go and get my blood drawn!’

“I was in restoration for 30+ years and was introduced to this group of people who had this really great platform and over the course of several weeks I started hearing how much money they had coming in. I started asking questions and heard that people could get involved if they wanted to, I didn’t have to pay any sort of investment or fee and that changed my entire life trajectory. I gifted my 20 year business and now I’m helping people make huge money. I’m seeing people make hundreds of thousands and millions of dollars by helping thousands of people.”

What's Missing From You Having A Bettr Life? (1) - Paul D. Lowe and Kristin Johnson & Marc 'Spanky' Reid

What's Missing From You Having A Bettr Life? (1) - Paul D. Lowe and Kristin Johnson & Marc 'Spanky' Reid

Paul explores the question of what is missing from having a better life. Joined by executive director Kristen Johnson and guest Marc 'Spanky' Reed, they delve into the concept of a "Bettr" life and how it can be achieved. Marc shares his experiences with a platform called Bettr, which aims to make a positive impact on communities and individuals by providing opportunities for income and personal growth. The conversation touches on the importance of legacy, storytelling, and the power of imagination in creating a better world. Listeners are encouraged to embrace their inner childlike curiosity, and take action to make a difference in their own lives and communities.

      KEY TAKEAWAYS

      • The concept of a "Bettr " life involves more than just financial success. It encompasses better relationships, health, wellness, and experiences.

      • The legacy we leave behind is an important aspect of a better life. It involves making a positive impact on others, especially those who are less fortunate, and contributing to our communities.

      • Imagination and storytelling play a significant role in creating a better life. They have the power to inspire, transform, and bring hope to individuals and communities.

      • Taking action and being intentional about pursuing a better life is crucial. It requires tapping into our childlike curiosity, embracing vulnerability, and having the courage to go after our dreams.

      • The power of music and song should not be underestimated. It has the ability to connect people, engage the brain, touch the heart, and bring about positive change.

Blessed Beyond Belief: All Things Being Equal – Paul D. Lowe and Kristin Johnson & Maxine Clark

Blessed Beyond Belief: All Things Being Equal – Paul D. Lowe and Kristin Johnson & Maxine Clark

On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined by Kristin Johnson and Maxine Clark to talk about equality.

      KEY TAKEAWAYS

      • Equality is something that we’re born with, it’s our birthright, but depending on the circumstances it doesn’t always show up. But it is something that is ingrained in the human condition, and I passionately believe in it.
      • When I was a child my mother was a civil rights activist who had worked during WWII for Eleanor Roosevelt as a secretary who traveled with her and my Mum learned a lot from her, When she moved back to Miami after Franklin died, she married my Father and she and several of her friends started a school for children with Down’s Syndrome to stop them being put in asylums. That was my introduction to the idea that we all have something to contribute and a reason for being on this planet.
      • Growing up when I did in the 50s and 60s it was much more equitable, there was a much larger middle class, you had people in your neighbourhood who were doctors, lawyers, policemen, truck drivers, my father was an electrician. You didn’t know what people made, you didn’t know their politics, you just lived in a neighbourhood with people, humans, friends, dogs and cats, and all the other things that go along with being a child in those days. I feel like we’re all craving that connection, that needing to be seen as a person not as a skin colour, a gender, as tall or short, not as 17 or 75 years old, but as a human being that has something to contribute. That’s how my family lived, I didn’t know there were differences in people just because they looked different than me – everybody looked different than me.
      • I have a million questions when I meet someone: Where did you come from? How long have you lived here? How many times have you moved? In asking questions you find common ground and by listening and not talking yourself you find out so much about life and you didn’t have to do it yourself, you can live through someone else’s experiences. That’s how I see it: I’m a problem solver, like both my Mum and Dad, if something’s broken and I know there’s a solution somewhere – or I don’t know yet and I want to see if somebody else is fixing it properly – I’ll go and do that, or I’ll bring people together to do it.

      BEST MOMENTS

‘Equality is giving everyone a chance no matter where they start from, where they come from, it’s the American Dream and a dream throughout the world.’
‘We all want to be safe, we all want to have friends, we all want to live in a nice home in a nice street where there’s good schools, shopping and transportation.’
‘We have so much potential in each of us.’
‘Our job is to make sure that we see everybody as an individual.’

The Value Of Values – Paul D. Lowe and Kristin Johnson & Ken Cella

On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined by Kristin Johnson and first time guest, Ken Cella, to talk about values, more specifically, a fascinating conversation about the value of values.

      KEY TAKEAWAYS

      • What’s unique about the contribution that we seek to make in the lives of our clients is it’s really more of a relationship. One of partnering together to have an impact, to help people achieve the goals that are most important to them, and that comes along with a lot of deep discovery, understanding people and what’s important to them.
      • There are common themes: People are very focused on their family, their health, having a life that helps them to achieve their purpose and to live out that purpose, and having the financial resources to make the first 3 things happen.
      • I strive to meet people where they’re at, and try understand their perspective, try to be open and curious and committed to learning always. I’m always working to be a better listener to understand where people are coming from. It’s a continuous learning journey and not a place I’ve arrived yet.
      • When you do listen deeply, when you do have compassion for others, and you have flexibility in your belief system that allows you to anchor to what’s most important but to be open to new perspectives, that serves people well, it’s certainly served me well.

      BEST MOMENTS

‘Oftentimes, when we talk to someone about their future, it’s not something they’ve spent a lot of time discussing with anyone ever, so there’s quite a journey there.’
      ‘It’s a privilege to serve.’

‘I try to start every day with a sense of gratitude for all the things that are in my life that are intentionally there and that I’m blessed to have in my life. Those are the things that drive me to then go out and do the kinds of things that I feel called to do.’

‘Listening is really about respect for the other person and having a sense of appreciation for really wanting to understand them, because it’s just not human nature to want to do that. It’s a lot easier to share what’s on your mind than it is to truly understand someone else.’

The Different Levels Of Hope - Paul D. Lowe and Kristin Johnson, Dr Keith Amoss & Paul Clark

The Different Levels Of Hope - Paul D. Lowe and Kristin Johnson, Dr Keith Amoss & Paul Clark

On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined by Kristin Johnson, Dr Keith Amoss, and Paul Clark to talk about the enigmatic topic of hope.

      KEY TAKEAWAYS

      • If you’ve got hope then you don’t have fear, and if you lose hope then fear immediately comes in and fills that void. I’m a career coach so I work with a lot of people who have just lost their jobs. They may well be very good at their profession, but when they arrive on my doorstep they are hopeless. One of the big problems with that is they associate hopelessness with uselessness. It’s really important to re-instill the idea that it’s not all finished, you’re just in a bad spot. Let’s be hopeful, because many other people have managed in the past, there’s no reason why you can’t.
      • Hope has always got that outcome that, potentially, you’re wishing for the best, but it just might not happen. Depending on the degree of your faith – and there is a difference – faith would say (if it’s strong enough) everything will be OK.
      • Hope is powerful. Victor Frankel, a psychologist in the Auschwitz concentration camp wrote Man’s Search For Meaning, and what he did was observed the prisoners, those that gave up perished and those that had something to live for and a hope that they would be released back into the outside world and do what it was that they wanted to really do again. That kept them alive. It’s incredibly powerful, not wishy-washy at all.
      • I train a girl with severe mental health issues and she loves coming to the gym and I can see it in her; she hopes to do an event next year, she hopes to raise money for charity, she’s hoping she can do these things to push past her mental health barrier.

      BEST MOMENTS
‘When you say “hope” you assume it’s a down and out feeling – where you need to find hope – but, if you hone in on hope it’s a good thing’.

‘It does take some action, hope is not just sitting there and waiting’.

‘On British TV shows hope isn’t the main factor in the characters’ journeys, they’re the underdog and remain the underdog and we laugh at that. On US TV shows 9/10 the underdog wins, they thrive off hope. This doesn’t happen for British people’.

‘I was going to say the only expert on hop is Bob, but that would be showing my age!’

Is Wealth Just A State Of Mind ?– Paul D. Lowe And Kristin Johnson & Jim Maher

Is Wealth Just A State Of Mind ?– Paul D. Lowe And Kristin Johnson & Jim Maher

On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined by Kristin Johnson and Jim Maher to talk about perceptions of wealth and whether real wealth is material or personal.

      KEY TAKEAWAYS

      • You really get to a lot of people’s core values when you understand how they perceive wealth. Is their driving factor accumulation or is it about something more like giving back? In our organisation and in my family it’s the exact same core values: Help others, become more, share success.
      • Delayed gratification is such an important behavioural characteristic for people to grow in life. It goes beyond accumulating wealth. The things where people (especially children) get in trouble is credit. Our society is very predatory, when they sign you up for credit cards it’s about instant gratification rather than physically handing over something that you’ve earned.
      • We’re afraid to teach values in the classroom and engage in those types of conversations. So, the very organisations that were the fabric of what taught children and families values and held them to a standard as to how they lived and what they did in their communities and how they were viewed in those religious organisations, especially after Covid, it’s shocking what has happened demographically.
      • There were good things that came from Covid. The healthy cost to society as a whole, despite the millions of people that died around the world, the one thing that in every part of the world was that family became stronger. That was something that we’d lost for a long time and I think that interconnection there was substantially rebuilt.

      BEST MOMENTS
‘The very best thing you can do for the world is to make the most of yourself’.

‘Wealth is not just about the dollar, it’s about how we use those resources and what those dollars do’.

‘Wealth is such a variety of things, but wealth is also the totality of life. It’s making a difference, making a contribution’.

‘There’s value in terms of wealth and there are values in terms of keeping your word, punctuality, etc. There is also trust, which is both a financial term and the glue that makes our society go’.

Don't Be An Expert, Be Inclusive! – Paul D. Lowe And Kristin Johnson & Tim Eby

Don't Be An Expert, Be Inclusive! – Paul D. Lowe And Kristin Johnson & Tim Eby

On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined by Kristin Johnson and Tim Eby to talk about inclusion and how to approach the subject with an open heart.

      KEY TAKEAWAYS

      • At times inclusivity is overthought. For me, at least, it really comes down to the idea of belonging. It’s about the idea that if you’re recognised, rewarded and respected in whatever aspect of your role either in your work life or your personal life. Belonging and feeling welcome is key to this.
      • I come to my role as executive director of the Special Education Foundation with a passion for helping kids and people with disabilities in many ways because of my own personal experience: I have 3 daughters, the oldest is neurotypical and a special education teacher, the two younger ones are on the autism spectrum. Having raised them I have a little understanding about the world of neurodiversity. But the SEF helps children with all disabilities and our goal is to create the independence for a student to be able to succeed inside and outside of school.
      • If you are around people that have challenges (mental, physical or financial) you start to understand that they are very bright, they may just express it differently. For example, one of the strengths of people with dyslexia is that they can see the big picture and many actors – and even Einstein – was dyslexic. Many people that have ADHD or autism are very successful because they’ve been given the resources to be able to do that and had an environment that made them feel safe, not everybody has that especially now with all the economic challenges.
      • Life can change in a heartbeat and you never know what impact you’re going to have, what that one act of kindness is going to do. At the very least it can prove to someone that they’re not alone and give them the strength to fight another day because they know they’ve got someone on their team.

      BEST MOMENTS
‘There’s such a power in believing the idea that we all deserve to belong in our world and that people accept you for who you are no matter who you are’.

‘We all want to feel seen, heard, understood, safe, supported, and also, we want to grow. Inclusiveness provides a space for us to grow’.

‘Parenting is a tremendous commitment anyway, but to help these children succeed even as they enter adulthood is hugely important and empowering, not just for the kids but for the parents as well’.

‘Inclusivity helps everyone better understand the world that they’re in and to recognise and reward the difference that we all have’.

Leadership In Action - Paul D. Lowe, Aimee Mosco, Kristin Johnson & Martin Leifeld

Leadership In Action - Paul D. Lowe, Aimee Mosco, Kristin Johnson & Martin Leifeld

On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined by Aimee Mosco, Kristin Johnson and Martin Leifeld to talk about the topic of leadership in action, especially with regard to the work they all do in the World Game-Changers organisation as well as in their personal lives.

      KEY TAKEAWAYS

      • Every human being is a leader, you can’t help but lead, even if you lead people in the wrong direction. We all have the gift of influence and by exercising our personalities and talents, whether we’re aware of it or not, provides leadership, direction, or presents choices to people. What do we do with it?
      • There are certainly lots of people leading the world in wrong, mixed or confusing directions today and there’s never been more of a need for extraordinary leaders that lead virtuously as servant leaders. Servant leadership puts the primary on developing people and accomplishing goals together as opposed to old school, autocratic leadership, leading with an iron fist, it’s a different model that empowers people to lead as you serve an organisation or a mission and so on.
      • We are all leaders in our own way. We are leaders within our families, places of work, communities, local sports team, church, what have you. There are all kinds of leadership, not just being elected to office or who raises enough money, sometimes the person with the most influence is not the person with the biggest title or loudest voice, sometimes they’re someone you wouldn’t expect. They are the people that people look to and trust. When people trust someone that’s everything. Real leadership is about trusting yourself, which is a very hard thing to do.
      • Leadership is so important because we thrive when we’re in a structured environment. That’s not to say that we need to map out every single detail before we step forward because we’re creative beings. But, we feel more comfortable with some sort of structure or container within which to operate. And there’s a different between that autocratic structure where you can’t think for yourself and challenging the status quo is not welcome, we talking about a space for people to grow because real leaders aren’t threatened when people grow.

      BEST MOMENTS

‘Leadership starts with a commitment to accept that you’re a leader or that you can influence the world for the better and then to develop yourself so that you can have virtuous or great impact.’
‘There are degrees of leadership; responsible and mindless and all of us are really looking to develop ourselves. To become a responsible leader, it requires that you expand your level of awareness.’
‘To trust ourselves and more importantly to trust other people is a huge leap, it’s one of the most simple and complex things that we’ll ever do.’
‘Great leaders want their people to grow because that’s good for everyone. You can always tell someone is really insecure in their power because they are threatened by the slightest dissention.’

Our Relationship With Relationships - Paul D. Lowe and Rebecca Wheele & Bob Conlin

Our Relationship With Relationships - Paul D. Lowe and Rebecca Wheele & Bob Conlin

On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul and Rebecca are joined by returning guest, Bob Conlin about relationships in both a broad and intimate sense.

      KEY TAKEAWAYS

      • We are in relationship with everything and everyone, there’s a give and take to everything be that nature, other people, stories, impact, whatever. The opportunity to really explore and understand is: What is my impact to those relationships? How am I impacting those that I love, those that I lead, my environment so that it supports an experience of life that I want? Fundamentally all of the expression of our experience of life is filtered through understanding the relationship that you have with yourself.
      • The relationship wit ourself is the genesis for our ability to experience Source, God, Spirit, Universe, whatever you want to call it, and our relationship to self is always how we’re going to experience others, life and everything else. There’s a relationship to self, source and others and those 3 give us a compass to explore the opportunities that we have in our lives.
      • Our relationships are some of the strongest, most reflective mirrors we have, especially our romantic relationships. They reflect back to us who we’re being, what we’re doing, where your healing is, what we’re able to celebrate and acknowledge. They’re also invitations to explore what’s next in our journey whether that’s a healing, coaching or spiritual journey.
      • It’s all about the balancing of masculine and feminine energies when they get out of balance I feel like we get in trouble. I see this a lot, being a father, with my 3-year-old son, he requires a lot of feminine nurturing and presence right now that I don’t always have access to. I’ll want and expect him to act in a specific way and he doesn’t and what he mirrors back to me is that I’m getting frustrated. Why am I getting frustrated? There’s something in my I can’t be with, what is that? I can trace it right down to this wound I have from my childhood and all of that is impacting my experience and relationship with my son.

      BEST MOMENTS

‘Our relationships are the way in which we get to experience life.’

‘Everything outside of me is an expression of what is inside of me.’

‘Relationships are some of the messiest things that we get to experience in life.’

‘We get conditioned or trained to judge our emotions or internal states as good or bad, what that does is starts to rob us of the full expression of being a human being. You will get angry and upset, making that bad or wrong makes a dynamic inside of us that doesn’t serve us. You can be angry or sad, but you don’t have to act on it. We need the highs and low of life to experience all of it.’

Blessed Beyond Belief (9): Why Does Mother Earth Need Us To Plant Trees? - Paul D. Lowe and Rebecca Wheele, Lars Heiselberg Vang Jensen & Dave Skeels

On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul and Rebecca are joined by Lars Heiselberg Vang Jensen and Dave Skeels to ask a seemingly simple but surprisingly difficult question: why Mother Earth needs us to plant trees?

      KEY TAKEAWAYS

      • Most would agree that we’re seeing symptoms of climate change, like heating around the globe, more heavy rains, disasters with many people suffering. For a long time we’ve been too efficient with machinery cutting down trees and it’s now time to give back and help Mother Earth.
      • If you can open up a road for others to follow, like having a place to plant trees, when it’s made possible at municipalities, churches, schools, kindergartens, governments, private landowners places then other people can find sponsors of trees. It’s about what we can do when we do it together, we have to come together and help each other as much as possible.
      • As human beings we have a desire for inclusivity, we have a need to be with other human beings. If we find a common goal or purpose to look after the planet that’s got to be a good place to be because, not only are you doing a good thing, you’re also with other people doing a good thing.
      • Mother Earth is already crying and asking for help. What would you do if you saw a baby crying? The calling is now. We should have done far more already by now, so we need to do a lot of amends now.

      BEST MOMENTS

‘We are effectively helping ourselves to the planet’s future and we need to do something to redress that balance and build a bit more future in for the planet and indeed the population that lives on the planet.’

‘We all have to do our little bit, and lots of a little equals a lot. If everybody does their incremental piece then we’ve suddenly got some sizeable change.’

‘The more people we can touch with our success, the more people that believe in the dream, the more the dream turns into a reality.’

‘We can create welfare and richness when our heart is concerned with other people, animals, nature, all human beings.’

Lars Heiselberg Vang Jensen was born in a small family in Aarhus, Denmark. After backpacking through Asia, he worked for 8 years for Falck, a Danish rescue company in Denmark – specializing in rescue, fire, and ambulance service.

During this time, he – along with other volunteer colleagues – organized an ambulance-related project in Laos, Asia, consisting of training local people, and shipping 33 containers of hospital gear, fire-fighting equipment, and medical supplies, etc. The main goal was to help establish an emergency ambulance service.

At age 27, Lars took Therapist education and later an ICF Coaching education to help self-love, the life he wants to live, and assisting his work.

Since 2012, Lars is one of two driving forces behind the ‘Growing Trees Network’, a NGO based in Denmark. He passionately holds a powerful belief that together – by planting many new forests worldwide – we can help Mother Earth, the climate, animals and be with love to ourselves and the coming generations.

More specifically, he is also a great believer in ‘Theme Forests’ as part of planting billions of trees, as a result of donations from companies, fund-raising and the world’s population – ultimately contributing towards more peace in our world.

He has a long-held belief that all individuals should be given “the space to grow” and show their true self. Blessed Beyond Belief (8): Personal Development & Life Purpose - Paul D. Lowe and Collins Mureithi & Rebecca Wheele

On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul and Rebecca Wheele are joined by Collins Mureithi to talk about personal development and what those two simple words mean to them.

      KEY TAKEAWAYS

      • I started my journey of growth by identifying a mentor because I knew that I couldn’t do it alone. I had so many questions about what I needed to do when I was building my non-profit organisation. I learned from them to understand exactly what to do because they’d already been there and they already have wisdom. I also read a lot of books, articles, listened to podcasts, and watched YouTube videos on leadership, fundraising and management. I also identified and surrounded myself with positive people who are also on the journey of rediscovering themselves in a positive way and were going in the same direction.
      • We have a lot of leaders in Africa who are mismanaging resources that they have been given. You find a lot of young people want to be leaders so that they can accumulate more wealth and make money so they can get a lot of resources for themselves to benefit themselves. Those are negative leaders, but negativity can also influence and can make a lot of people suffer.
      • Every day I work with young people in Africa to be leaders. I have been able to identify what is actually happening in Africa – and a lot of young people are thinking the same. We cannot work like this. I established a centre where we can have these conversations about servant leadership, what is happening in our communities, and how can we solve them? We don’t have a mindset of doing things to get something in return, we do things because we were created to do this kind of thing.
      • I’m not that religious, but I believe in God, that there is a higher power that has put purpose in me. That person leads me every day to do what I do. The seed of purpose in my heart is to solve a problem in the world. Every day when I wake up in the morning, I say to myself: “The higher power chose me to be here right now, that is special, it means I’m special, why should I live a mediocre life? I need to live a special life that is impacting people to live positively”. When I go to sleep at night knowing that today I’ve been able to improve a life or leave a purpose, I’m OK and I thank the higher power for giving me this day and I can sleep at peace looking forward to the next day to continue living my purpose.

      BEST MOMENTS
‘Personal development to me means growth, and not only growth but positive growth. You have to invest in yourself and in something for you to grow.’
‘Everybody has a purpose. Everybody was created to solve a problem.’
‘Servant leadership is about identifying what is in you and then trying to apply it by solving a problem in the community or wherever you are.’
‘Servant leadership is the solution to most of the problems in Africa.’

After realizing a gap of lack of opportunities among young people in his community, Collins registered a community based youth led organisation to create a safe space that allows them to discuss how to advocate for their rights, opportunities & mobilize for resources to apply programs.

This space has raised young people to be servant leaders who will become agents of positive change in the community through volunteerism & service to humanity. His mission in life is to train young people to serve the world by first giving out their purpose before they think about themselves over what they will receive. He has managed to train over 100 grass-root youth & women organisational founders on the basic management system and help them fund-raise locally.

Blessed Beyond Belief (7): Family Matters & Needs - Paul D. Lowe and Rubria Mendoza & Rebecca Wheele

On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul and Rebecca Wheele are joined by Rubria Mendoza to talk about the fascinating topic of family matters and why family is important.

      KEY TAKEAWAYS

      • Family is important for me because it’s the centre of everything we do. Their values, support and the dynamic bonds that are created can be transposed to any other area of our lives: work, friends, etc.
      • For me, family isn’t just blood relatives, family are people I have a strong connection with. I’m not blood related to my second Mum, yet we are equally close as I was with my Mum. I have a strong group of friends who I met 20+ years ago, we call ourselves family. When we had kids they refer to us all as uncles and aunts because that’s how we feel that connection.
      • One of the greatest things about family is that we don’t have to agree on everything. Even though we were raised the same way we are unique. When I’ve gone through bad times with family members, something I learned years ago when attending support groups is that I don’t want to stop loving the person, but that doesn’t mean I have to agree with their actions. I don’t like their actions but I still love the person. I don’t get stuck, I try to move forward, even if the relationship doesn’t go back to what it was. It can be really hurtful, but I don’t have to carry those things with me.
      • My group of people share the same values, that we are honest with ourselves and willing to be open, even if we don’t talk much or see each other in person, we still feel the connection. That, for me, has been amazing. We’re all human beings, there to support each other, cheer for the others, and help. That’s what family is about.

      BEST MOMENTS
      ‘Family is priority.’

‘Family is where I feel loved, safe, where I feel I belong.’

‘You may be missing that link for the rest of your life but there is still more chain ahead.’

‘I encourage the little ones that they can pursue anything, there’s no such thing as a thing for a boy, a thing for a girl, a thing just for adults. The sky's the limit, life is too short to live with restrictions.’

Blessed Beyond Belief (6) - It's A Time For Bedoing! Paul D. Lowe and Rebecca Wheele & Pat Wolff

On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul and Rebecca Wheele are joined by returning guest Pat Wolff to talk around the broad topic of health, personally and for the planet in these times of significant divides in wealth and the impending climate crisis.

      KEY TAKEAWAYS

      • I’m a paediatrician and primary care physician, so I have a medicalised view of the world, but I also am the founder of a programme in Haiti – a factory that manufactures food for malnourished children. So, I’m also a reluctant industrialist as well. I’ve travelled a lot, so I have a broad view of the differences in health in various places, but I have an overarching concern about the climate crisis and what it’s going to do to all of our health. The world is going to change so much in the next 10-20 years that we all need to think about it today and figure out how we’re going to fit into that for ourselves, our children and grandchildren, our communities and the world. We have to get serious about prevention, and that includes our environment.
      • Chaos, lack of food, violence, insecurity, refugees, immigrants are top of mind for us and they’re going to be top of mind for more people in more places in the coming years because of climate change. Some places are going to be too hot for people to live in, some places are not going to have water so they’ll have to move, some places are not going to have food so they’ll have to move. Where will they go and who will welcome them? How will we redistribute the wealth of the world, which we can all agree is very top heavy with very few people owning most of the wealth. That is not going to work. We really have to think about more social justice because poor people won’t put up with it. In order to prevent violence we need to do the right thing: Share.
      • Haiti is a snapshot of the future for other places. It’s environmentally degraded, all the wealth is owned by 1% of the people, people don’t have enough of anything, and they live very simply. I’ve lived there 50% of the time for many years and it’s like a different planet to the rest of the US where we buy whatever we want, we throw away what’s not the newest thing, we’re careless about our use of energy and resources because we can be.
      • We need to get more mindful – more simple – about what our needs, wants and desires are. Our current inputs are about wanting more and comparing ourselves to people who have more and do more things. Need not, want not and you’ll be happy. Simplify. Spend less on stuff, spend more time in nature, care for the Earth and each other.

      BEST MOMENTS

‘Health is not just the absence or presence of disease, it’s really having good air to breathe, good food to eat, good water to drink, not a significant, serious amount of stress in you life, having security, a lack of violence on an everyday basis, having a place to live, it’s all of these things.’

‘We all do better when we all do better.’

‘Walls are not going to do it. You really have to enable people to live, to find food, shelter and water where they are, or make accommodations for them to move to where the weather is going to be more congenial to human life.’

‘The planet and animals will survive better than humans will. It might be that humans are not equipped to think about the future and to delay gratification today in order to have a better future.’

Blessed Beyond Belief (5): Giving Young People A Sporting Chance In Life – Paul D. Lowe and Rebecca Wheele, Joe Howe & Tom Michler

On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul and Rebecca Wheele are joined by Joe Howe and Tom Michler, to talk about why it’s so important to give youth a sporting chance in life.

      KEY TAKEAWAYS

      • The multitude of benefits that a child can gain from the experience of being given a sporting chance in life. These include the socialization, the feeling of being – that they belong – is so important for our programme, that activity itself. But, for Joe and I, once you become a part of the St. Louis soccer community you’re part of it forever, and it’s a wonderful experience of community. We saw a gap with the pay-to-play model, a lot of children that just wouldn’t get that opportunity and we knew what the game had done for us, we really wanted to fill that gap.
      • We’ve both played on teams where there was a lot of talent but it didn’t always work. It works when there’s an orchestration and you have that experience and success, that’s a very powerful experience. The experience of belonging really grounds you and when you see those guys years later it’s alive and well in you. That’s what we’re looking to provide via the field; a sense of belonging while playing sports and having fun also.
      • There’s a lot of groups teaching soccer. The important thing is how we go about it and what we’re emphasizing in the setting. My background is in mental health and more and more we pay attention to the environment a child is growing up in. The nature vs nurture argument has really moved into environment vs genetics. Our intention is to create a particular environment intentionally that is inclusive, safe and fun.
      • You can’t coach every kid the same. Some kids respond to you challenging them and some kids not so much, they can be shy and need coaxing into it. You have to notice that, and some kids really have a load they’re carrying so you really have to watch it and really work with them and be conscientious of what they’re going through.

      BEST MOMENTS

‘Let the game be the teacher not only for soccer but for life.’

‘The great thing about sport is it’s the great equalizer, if you can play you can play and it doesn’t matter where you’re from.’

‘We build our goals wider, purposefully, to promote scoring. When a child has the experience of scoring a goal and they tell us about it, you see it in their eyes. From then on that child gets more assertive both in the play and with other kids around them too.’

‘Nothing beats when you teach a kid a new skill and you see the lights go on in them, that’s the greatest thing ever and makes it all worth it.’

Blessed Beyond Belief (4): Foundational Faith – Paul D. Lowe and Rebecca Wheele, Dr Art McCoy & Crystal Swanigan

On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul and Rebecca are joined by Dr Art McCoy and Crystal J. Swanigan to explore the topic of foundational faith in the context of Blessed Beyond Belief, and how important faith is in all its various guises and what it really means.

      KEY TAKEAWAYS

      • Faith is beyond a dream, it’s greater than a dream. F.A.I.T.H. – Forward All Issues To Heaven or Forget All Impossible Truths and Trust in Him. My higher power is God, I lean on him for all things, I dream big. Faith is dreaming big and stepping out on the ledge without a net underneath to catch you, just know that the direction that you’re going has been pointed and directed by your faith.
      • “Trust without evidence” can be universal or religious. Faith is a corporate thing, there’s a community of like-minded people that have a similar creed. In America we’re focused on ourselves with regard to faith. But in the beginning of a belief or a religion, there’s a creed – a perception of truth – that transcends the current reality and reasoning. That’s very important as a leader because it lets me know how many people have faith in a vision, faith in a future, faith in a community, and faith in an outcome that we can create something out of nothing.
      • It is possible to have a level of faith that is individual, but that faith is miniscule in comparison to a corporate faith. In all texts, including sacred texts, the community of faith is what gives you your strength. This oneness with this element that is bigger than you that taps into an unmediated truth. People call it God, people call it Universe, but in the end it’s the communal aspect that makes you have divine power.
      •  Intentional is a plan, an aim, a goal, a target, it’s predestined, pre-thought-out, intended to be, expected as a result, it has a purpose. My pain becomes my purpose, my misery becomes my message, those are the things that were intended to come my way so I could become the advocate for the product/topic. Pain was inflicted to provoke me to bring more light. We don’t really get involved in things until it knocks on our door.

      BEST MOMENTS

‘Things work together for my good. It may not all be or taste good, but it’s all working together for my good.’

‘Faith is the substance that things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen.’

‘Faith gives you the power to transcend reason and reality in a way that makes something better than it was before.’

‘No man is an island, we stand together. People need me to make their lives more fulfilled and I need people to make my life more fulfilled.’
