When relationships go sideways, there's a tendency to focus on the other person's role, while ignoring our role in what occurred, including choosing to be in a relationship with the person and exposing ourselves to their behavior.
If we want better relationships in the future, we must acknnowledge that there are 2 people in the relationship making choices; 1+1 = 2, 1 doesn't equal 2. Taking accountability enables us to examine our role and choices and to make better choices that create better relationships in the future. The real meanings of our experiences and how they shows up in our relationships and our lives is discussed also.
