Enjoying Food & Being Thankful for Our Bodies: Lessons from 1 Timothy 4

Host Heather Creekmore teaches through 1 Timothy 4:1-10 and looks at the ways scripture instructs us to think about our food, pleasure, contentment, and even exercise. This passage includes instruction about how we think about and relate to food and our bodies and even exercise. As she examines these scriptures you’ll see the two concepts that Paul wanted to communicate to the young pastor Timothy and the concepts God still wants us to understand today are godliness and contentment. Listen and be encouraged to feel better about your body image and enjoy God's good gifts this Christmas season and all year long.

Today Heather asks: Can we be content with his gifts? As we learn from 1 Timothy, the more we know him, the more we grow in godliness, and the more we enjoy his gifts-- even the gift of our body and food.

Having a godly perspective, the training in godliness has so much to do with the way we relate to our bodies, our food, and others, in this life and is also good for the life to come. As you'll be encouraged to remember in today's encouraging show: Having an eternal perspective changes everything.

Living an Unforgettable Life - Audio

Living an Unforgettable Life - Audio
Pastor Doug Tomorrow, we will as a nation be observing Memorial Day. Memorial Day is far more than cookouts, time at the beach or car races; it is a day of remembrance. Since 1866 we have commemorated and remembered those who have given their lives in all American Wars. It is a moment where we as a nation say with one voice that we will not forget! Can that also be said about us, as we live our lives before our friends, family, strangers and generations desperate to see the reality of a God they cannot see or might not know?

    6. Scriptural Principles For Dating - Audio
This is part six of Evangelist Stinnett Ballew's six-part must hear series on the home. As Brother Ballew stated in an earlier message, he doesn't like dating, but he knows folk are going to do it, so that's why he preached this message. For the record, I believe (as I'm sure Brother Ballew does,) the best scriptural principle for dating is, don't date at all, but have biblical cortship!
