In Part 2 of his most current message series delivered on 10/27/19, taken from John 10:10, Pastor Barney further defines "incapacitation" as he contrasts it with a deeper definition of "strength".  Using the familiar example of Gideon to express the importance of allowing God to establish within our own minds and hearts, a correct image of ourselves in order to tap into the ability to resist and endure. 

In his current (and new) message series, delivered on 10/20/19, based on John 10:10, Pastor Barney puts fresh and biblical insight into a familiar passage of scripture.  He challenges us to be aware that we have a thief to watch out for while showing us how to recognize subtle tactics.

So excited for Jeff and I to be interviewing one of our favorite couples, Jordan and Amber Massey this week on the podcast!

Amber is.. a 30-something year old wife to her firefighter hero and best friend in the whole wide world + a mama to their five littles.!

We had so much fun on this interview, but we also talk very seriously about marriage and parenting, and how Jesus needs to be the center of our lives to abundantly live out our roles and life as He planned!

We laughed, we cried, and the kids were crawling in their laps as we chatted!

It's pretty hard to avoid gear lust when you see 1010 Music's work in action. Originally launched as the Bitbox, the touchscreen, high-function module has spawned a number of implementations, including the Synthbox, Fxbox, Toolbox and - most recently - the standalone Blockbox. I've been in awe of this system since it was first released, and I'm glad to have the chance to talk with the creator - Aaron Higgins.

Based out of LA, Aaron and his spouse have 1010 humming. By focusing on a specific setup (a touch-based interface on a fully-digital module base), they have been creating some eye-popping modules for sample playback, digital synthesis, realtime sequencing and even laser pattern generation. You have to see some of these things to believe them, but in general you can say that 1010 is pushing the envelope of what we think a module can do.

In our talk, we discuss the development of the platform, the differences in the devices, and Aaron's inspiration and design aesthetic. We also peek at his background as a developer, and look into the future of standalone hardware creation.
